Elements of Information Literacy and Netiquette Knowledge among Primary School Students in Klatovy Region in the Czech Republic

This master thesis deals with some elements of information literacy throught the term netiquette. The netiquette's relation with etics and etiquette is described in the theoretical part. This part's interest lies in the organisations engaged in netiquette, cyberspace, language and chosen elements of information literacy in connection with the computer literacy. The empirical part of the research handles the knowledge of netiquette at 4th and 5th grade students of elementary schools. Using an anonymous questionnary, the research's objective was to discover the acquaintance of the term netiquette and to realise the differences of the acquirement according to the size of the location of their elementary school, to the sex of subject and to the socioeconomic status of students. The research detects the relation of the information literacy with more facts, as having computer at home, knowing how to use computer and internet, managing the basic manipulation, being familiar with the safety rules. According to the investigation, all the asken students have modern technologies at home with ratio of 27% of the students on the countryside and 59% of the students living in a town, overal 43% of asked subjects are familiar with the netiquette. Current Modern Didactic Means used in Management of schools and Education

The topic of the importance of modern didactic tools in the current conditions of pedagogical practice is considered as contemporary and often discussed. The thesis deals with the question whether the application of modern technology can streamline the work of teachers, including school management and also whether it can become one of the criteria for raising the level of education and organization development. The thesis gives an insight into the ability of school management and other education participants to accept, but also induce changes and innovations in education. It also concerns the issue of schools' open-minded thinking and providing lifelong learning to local community. The thesis attempts to find a mutual relationship between effective application of modern technology, collaboration and the impact on results of entire work. The thesis deals with the use of ICT across different types of schools. The survey should also verify the impact of didactic tools on the quality and results of education by type of school, especially those who participated in the project of Ústi nad Labem Region called Community School (elementary, secondary, special), including feedback. The output of the thesis is summarization, interpretation and completion of the data obtained.
Use of electronic information resources in the Czech language and literature classes at high schools

This diploma thesis is focused on information education and using electronic information sources in Czech Language and Literature classes at Czech secondary schools. It consists of three parts. The first, theoretical part addresses information literacy in the Czech Republic, national information education policy and contemporary trends in using modern information and communication technologies in the classroom. The second part includes an overview of open online information sources for Czech Language and Literature classes which could be used in the classroom. The thesis also includes an inquiry into the use of electronic information sources in Czech Language and Literature classes at secondary schools. Environments and projects that support children's reading

The thesis deals with a support of children's reading. The work is aimed to factors and actors influencing reading education. The first part solves theoretical definition and the meaning of reading. Primarily there are explained two important terms related to the topic - reading and a reader. Further it is proceeding by attention given to different phases of reading education before and during school attendance. Primarily three environments influencing reading literacy were observed. These include family, school and public library. Furthermore, national representative projects supporting reading primarily in libraries are shortly presented at this thesis as well. The second part is focused on the Municipal Library of Prague, specifically Smichov branch and its activities. In this part are charted various programmes for children. Repeated activities for parents with children or for children alone are observed. Also, events for groups of preschool and school children are described. The important part of presented work deals with survey of cooperation between Smichov branch and local schools. The research results are to determine practical experience of teachers from these schools in activities of Smichov branch and in their cooperation with this library.
Providing Access to Electronic Information Resources at Jan Palach Library CUFA

The bachelor thesis deals with providing access to electronic resources (ER) at Jan Palach Library CUFA. The theoretical part of the thesis defines term ER, describes their typology, deals with acquisition and management and introducing tools for using them. The thesis describes experiences of Jan Palach Library CUFA with providing access to ER and deals with information behavior of ER users. The aim of the thesis is to describe a situation in ER management on example of an university library on Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague. The practical part of the thesis is an user research on the method of the survey which results that situation in ER use is slowly getting better, users do not feel foreign language ER production as problem and just only small group of users attended workshop dedicated to ER, because users do not feel the need to. Geographic skills of elementary and secondary school students

The ame of this thesis is a partial analysis of survey, which preceded the elaboration of thesis and was prepared by a wider team. Secondary school students and older elementary school students took a test focused on problem solving skills and information literacy abilities in geography. Specifically: searching for data in a table, comparing tables with graphs, working with maps (searching for data and information, comparing with other resources), asking questions (searching for the causes of the current state of some phenomena), analysing data from different types of resources (tables, graphs, maps), transcribing data from table to the graph, and independent thinking on the basis of the information given. Apart from the test, they also filled out a survey on their opinions about the test questions and the frequency of practicing these skills in the classroom. Their teachers filled out the analogical survey. This thesis is analysing the part of survey results and it's specifically focused on the relation between the teachers' and the students' views on the test results and the tested skills and abilities.
Analysis of computer literacy courses offer for elderly people in Prague

The thesis deals with the issue of computer literacy of elderly people and the offer of these courses in Prague. First part of the thesis is devoted to theoretical and analytical introduction of terms such as old age, aging, age, older adult, literacy and education of elderly people. This part also provides a deeper insight into gerontagogy and gerontodiadactics related to ICT literacy. The second part contains an analysis of the internet offer of computer literacy courses in Prague and the results of the quantitative questionnaire survey. These results are analysed and explained. Then the specified hypotheses are evaluated on their base. The thesis is written on the base of a comparison of scholarly sources from Czech and foreign authors and on analysis and synthesis of the data identified in the survey. How pupils use digital technology when doing school homework

The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe the role of the digital technologies in the homework preparation of the pupils, how do they use the digital technologies and whether they use it for the learning at all. This thesis evaluates also if the pupils can use the digital technologies for learning and in which way they use them, what is their vision of learning, what pluses and minuses in the digital technology usage see the pupils from the sixth to ninth grade. How do the parents encourage their children to use these technologies for the homework. The theoretical section focuses on the role and possibilities of using digital technologies in education, especially in homework preparation. It defines a pupil's digital competence and the characteristics of the network generation. The practical section includes the conclusion of 3 questionnaire surveys. The first of which the author did among 127 pupils of the 2nd grade of an unnamed elementary school in the Ústí region. Its aim was to find out whether and how pupils use digital technologies in their home preparation for school and whether these technologies simplify the learning process for them.
