Nutritional behaviors of adolescents and their knowledge as a result of lower secondary education

The thesis focuses on eating habits of adolescents and their knowledge of nutrition. In the theoretical part, the bio-psycho-social development of growing up individuals is characterized. From the nutritional behaviour's point of view, factors are mentioned that may influence eating habits of individuals along with nutritional recommendations for adolescent individuals. Data from research focused on nutritional behaviour of adolescents conducted in Czech republic and the consequences of insufficient and excessive nutrition is included into the theoretical part. The last part clarifies the implementation of nutritional themes into the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education and education programmes and projects focusing on supporting healthy eating habits intended for schools. Goal of the practical part is to map the eating habits and knowledge of eight and ninth grade second stage students of three primary schools in Prague and third and fourth grade students of two grammar schools. To test this goal, the quantitative approach of questionnaire survey and qualitative methods of analysis of school curricula were used. Tourist Attraction in Teaching of Geography at Primary School: Case Study Kolín

Sixtová, M. (2011): Tourist attractions in teaching of geography at primary school: case study Kolín. Department of Social Geography and Regional Development, Charles University in Prague. The presented bachelor thesis is concerned with teaching local region issues. The theoretical approach is provided by examination of literature related to tourism and by analysis of curricular documents of state and school level. In the next part of the thesis, there are presented selected tourist attractions whose inclusion into teaching geography was monitored at primary schools in Kolín. At these schools, there was realized questionnaire survey among pupils as well as among teachers of geography. These teachers also participated in controlled interview which deals with a concept of teaching local region issues. On the basis of gained knowledge, there was devised school geography project, which is focused on application of tourist attractions into teaching local region issues.
Human alienation from nature

9/67 Abstract My thesis deals with human alienation from nature. The theoretical section aims to answer what is nature and relationship to nature. It also describes how the relationship developed between man and nature. Neglected to stay or work in human nature - recreation and gardening settlements. The thesis also focuses on the children and nature around them. Besides, my study is searching for links within school eco- center and framework of educational programme for elementary education. There occur attempts to look for the causes and consequences of running away from nature. Furthermore, the answer to delay human alienation from nature is being looked around. A self-made research determines what types of environments the pupils in the fifth grade of elementary schools in Brandys nad Labem - Stara Boleslav use and spend their leisure time there. Whether the town Brandys nad Labem - Stara Boleslav offers to students natural space witch students may use for their relaxation and doing sports. Comparison of practicing methods of initial reading and writing in relation to specific learning disorders

Theoretical part of this thesis comprises findings gathered by analyzing available specialized literature focused on specific learning disorders, methods of practicing of initial reading and writing, and Framework Education Program for Elementary Education. The practical part consists of research in a form of questionnaire survey, which compares both learning and writing training methods with respect to specific learning disorders as its main target. The main purpose of this research was to obtain and analyze opinions of specialists from counseling and school psychology clinics on methods of teaching reading and writing, furthermore how these methods may help avert the development of special learning disorders or which methods of teaching writing and reading might be associated with more frequent development of special learning disorders. The survey shows, that the most popular and the most suitable method for initial writing and reading practice according to inquired specialists is still the analytical-synthetic method, which sustains development of particular functions and it is coherent with child's natural phonological development. Basics of computer operation - didactic materials for elementary school

The revision of the Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education in the Czech Republic from 2021 introduces a new educational area called Informatics. The area has a completely different content than the former Information and Communication Technology area. It is necessary for teachers to have a sufficient number of high-quality didactic materials to choose from for teaching this new educational area. The first goal of this diploma thesis is to review teaching materials of informatics for Grade 1 to 5 of primary schools available in Czech language, and thus make it easier for teachers to find their way around them. During conducting the review, a lack of materials for teaching the principles of digital devices and basics of the principles of the Internet was noticed. The second goal is therefore to create new didactic materials for those topics. The didactic materials were created in cooperation with the Laboratory of Advanced Multimedia Education of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University and the children's channel of Czech Television ČT: D and are gradually published on this channel's website. Media education of first elementary school children

Master thesis Media education of elementary school children, was written because of the need to analyze the current situation of media education. Media education at Czech schools is based on normative materials released by the government - Rámcový vzdělávací program and Doporučené očekávané výstupy. The theoretical part of this study introduces these the above mentioned materials and other legislative documents. It also brings a summary of historical development of media education and a list of the most important education materials, which were written in the past twenty years. For more than ten years Czech schools have been influenced by normative materials, which define how media education should be taught. The aim of this thesis is to focus on primary school children at the age of 9 to 11 years. A practical part of this study brings a detailed look at one class in a Prague based school. Interviews with pupils were based on outputs from normative materials Doporučené očekávané výstupy. The author's aim was to verify if children's knowledge of media corresponds to the said materials. Part of the in-depth interviews are samples of audiovisual materials and other activities.
Possibilities of Distance Teaching the Czech Language at Primary School

The diploma thesis is focused on the search for opportunities for distance learning of the Czech language at primary schools. The aim of the work is to deal in detail and find out how distance learning of the Czech language takes place at primary schools and what is the level of adoption of teaching among pupils who are learning a distance form of study. The work is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with a general treatise of primary education and education. It also briefly characterizes the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education. Then it analyzes distance education in detail, briefly defines communication tools and in the end summarizes the subject Czech language and its teaching. The practical part contains two research surveys, which are structured in detail. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used. In the first research survey, it finds out the effectiveness of Czech language distance education at selected primary schools in specific grades of primary school. Facebook and Instagram in Media Education at the Lower Secondary School

This diploma thesis focuses on social networks and their usage in media education at a lower secondary school. The thesis exclusively deals with Facebook and Instagram and is divided into two parts, the theoretical one and the practical (empirical) one. The theoretical part studies both types of social networks and presents their development. Moreover, it focuses on the specifics of electronic communication and alludes to other topics such as media communication, media literacy, media education etc. The concluding passages of the theoretical part then focus on the relationship between media education and the curricular documents of the Czech educational system. The following practical part applies the outcomes of the theoretical part. Firstly, it takes into account works of several Czech linguists on whose findings the empirical analysis rests. Secondly, the reasons why media education should be present in education are listed. In its main part, the thesis then presents an analysis of selected material related to media education and offers possible methodological suggestions relevant to media education. Music Education of Primary School Teachers in the context of school reforms

The dissertation introduces the knowledge of the child's ontogenetic development in the early school age and at the beginning of pubescence in connection with a musical development. It also deals with the emotional importance of music in the child's personal development. The following part is devoted to music education at primary schools, their aims, historical context and the current position of music education in the Czech curriculum together with foreign influences. The third chapter focuses on the ongoing structure of music education given in the study programmes for the teaching qualification at the national pedagogical faculties in the Czech Republic. The research part scrutinizes the contemporary situation of music education at primary schools from teachers' point of view and with regards to their undergraduate training. The research concentrates on the experience of teachers who have undergone undergraduate training in the last decade. The aim is also to find out how the situation is perceived by university music lecturers who train future teachers. The questionnaire survey and interviews reveal problems in music education at the elementary schools and also in undergraduate training at pedagogical faculties.
