Rehabilitation in patients indicated to bone marrow transplant
Knotková, Edita ; Jevič, Filip (advisor) ; Medunová, Kateřina (referee)
The bone marrow transplantation is proceeded by tranfusion of blood stem cells to the patient who is indicated to this procedure. Most often indications are hematooncological malignancies. The bone marrow transplantation is for some of the patients the only chance of cure. The conditioning including chemotherapy and radiotherapy of various intensity is necessary for succesful bone marow transplant. It causes several side effects such as immobilization, muscle strength loss and endurance loss. It is possible to prevent or at least slow down these side effects by early rehabilitation. This literature review summarizes present knowledge about influence of physical activity on patient indicated to bone marrow transplant during treatment and in the after-treatment period. Endurance training improves aerobic capacity of the patients and correlates with their quality of life. The resistance training helps to prevent muscle strength loss during immobilization and chemotherapy. Intensity of training sessions is still a subject of discussion because of the instable clinical state of the patient during treatment. There was no negative effect of physical activity proven on patients undergoing bone marrow transplant. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Accurate pedometers function using the autocalibration
Kučera, Lukáš ; Slabý, Kryštof (advisor) ; Procházka, Michal (referee)
v angličtině Aim: The aim of this study is to explore the possibilities of accurate pedometer functions through a partial removal of individual measurement errors for a particular pair of pedometer- proband, using the auto-calibration of walking for the previously known distance. Methods: They will be used pedometers of mechanical type YAMAX SW-200 and fully electronic type OMRON HJ-720. Thirty adults from 18 to 69 years old (11 men, 19 women) took part in this study. In the pilot phase will be suggesting of a sufficiently long sections of known length (100 m, 300 m a 1000 m) and auto-calibration on a flat track. Own attempt will consist in landscaping measurement. Resulsts: From everage lengths and from the number of steps, which we measured, is possible to determine distance, which probands covered. The biggest aproach was to real distance 1000 m in case we used everage length of step from distance 300 m. In this case undervaluation of the distance reached in Omron 7 % and with Yamax just 10 %. Howewer the distance as well for Omron was overvalued in 27 % probands and for Yamax it was in 20 % probands. Conclusion: The best possibility seems to be average length of step, which is couted from distance for 100 m. Although there is undervaluation more frequent, overvalution is minimal. It will be...
Therapeutic rehabilitation in patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis
Helebrantová, Soňa ; Zounková, Irena (advisor) ; Smolíková, Libuše (referee)
The juvenile idiopathic arthritis disease (JIA) is the most common chronic rheumatic disease in childhood and a significant cause of acquired disability in children and adolescents. Patients suffer from acute and chronic pain, reduced mobility, and stiffness in the joints, which leads to a limitation in physical activity. The bachelor thesis includes the latest information about JIA in connection with therapeutic rehabilitation- physiotherapy. It deals with the effect of the disease on the function of the musculoskeletal system, and the ways in which therapeutic rehabilitation can effect already developed disorders. The thesis consists of two sections. The first part is theoretical and includes information from the literature, with focus on information that has been published in Czech and foreign literature over the last 10 years. The second part is devoted to case report of a patient with JIA, including an examination, a course of rehabilitation and its effects on overall health. In the therapy there were used questionnaires about physical activity, such as C-HAQ, methods based on developmental kinesiology or kinesiotaping. The main benefit of the thesis is the analysis of all available therapeutic methods in patients with JIA. The emphasis is placed on medical rehabilitation - physiotherapy,...
Body composition in patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies
Mareček, Ondřej ; Česák, Petr (advisor) ; Kinkorová, Ivana (referee)
Title: Body composition in patients with idiopatic inflammatory myopathies Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare selected parameters of body composition in patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM) with age- and sex-matched healthy controls (HC). Another objective was to evaluate the effect of selected clinical parameters in patients with IIM on the detectedvariability of the parameters of body composition and on physical activity of patients. Methods: The research sample consisted of 84 individuals (54 IIM, 30 HC). In anthropometry, we measured: body height (cm), weight (kg) and BMI (kg/m2 ). Using bioelectrical impedance analysis BIA 2000-M we obtained values: total body water (TBW in%), muscle mass (LBM in kg), body fat (BF in%) cell mass of lean body mass (BCM of FFM in%), and the proportion of extracellular/intracellular matrix (ECM/BCM). Using Lunar series iDXA we obtained values: muscle mass (LBM in kg), body fat (BF in %), bone mineral density (BMD in g/cm3 ), and visceral fat (Visceral in kg). To these measured values we added a questionnaire on physical activity Human Acitvity Profile (HAP). Statistics: T-test, Mann Whitney U test, Cohen's d, and Partialeta-squared. Results: Selected values (mean ± SD): body height: IIM 164.7 ± 9.1 cm, HC 170.3 ± 7 cm; body weight:...
