Czech Praseology and Foreigners

In this thesis, we look into the level of knowledge of Czech phraseology of non-native speakers, namely Russian-speaking (Russophones). The objective is to investigate, using five case studies, what is the degree of knowledge of Czech phraseology, how the level of integration into the Czech society might influence their knowledge, or whether there may be any other relevant factors. By means of a semi-structured interview, these case studies describe respondents' language background which is later confronted with the research findings. In conclusion, results of the case studies are compared in order to identify tendencies and factors that might be significant for students when acquiring the idioms.
Organizational culture - A difference between outward stylization and operational reality

Diploma thesis is focusing on the declared and actually perceived organizational culure. Theoretical part defines the concet of organizational culture, focuses on description of individual attributes of the organizational culture and its structure. Attention is paid also to some typologies of the organizational culture, and to an overview of current level of knowledge regarding the area of declared and actually percieved organizational culture. In the empirical part, a case study of a chosen organization has been conducted, attempting to describe given phenomena. Content analysis has been used to study declared organizational culture, actually percieved organizational culture has been measured by OCAI and way of employees' understanding of this phenomenon has been reviewed in transcriptions of interviews with employess. Public Policy to Prevent Childhood Obesity and the Role of Food Production and Marketing

This thesis is a case study focused on a relationship between public policy to prevent childhood obesity and the role of the food production and marketing in the Czech Republic. The emphasis is especially given to the institutional framework of food marketed and produced for children and its social concequences, because childhood obesity is one of them. The results from the analysis are then confronted with views and opinions of children and their parents, with how they feel about food advertising. Conclusion: advertising and production of food designated for children is not regulated in the Czech Republic. On governmental level only basic standards and rules are given and self-regulation is given precedence. Parents are aware of the huge influence of advertising on their children and that is why they are not satistied with the current situation. They would appreciate stronger legislative regulation of marketing and production of food for children.
The first month of war ain the media through eyes of students: case study of Grammar school Písek

The thesis deals with students' attitude towards media content about the war in Ukraine in the context of media education at the grammar school in Písek, South Bohemia. The main aim is to investigate how students perceived and interpreted media content about the war in Ukraine during the first month of the conflict, to analyse their views on the media coverage of the conflict, and to find out what role media education had in informing students about the war in Ukraine. The thesis is divided into two parts, namely theoretical and empirical, and links several important and current issues such as the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, its media coverage and media education in secondary schools in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the context of the issue, the role of media in reporting on war conflicts and the importance of media education and media literacy in relation to media coverage of the war in Ukraine. Professional development of pedagogical staff in kindergartens - a case study

The topic of the thesis is professional development of pedagogical staff in a selected kindergarten - a case study. The thesis is primarily focused on the education of teaching staff in pre-school institutions. The motivation for the author of the thesis was her personal interest in current trends in the professional development of teaching staff and also the development of teaching staff she is responsible for in the kindergarten where she works. The author structured her thesis into theoretical and empirical parts. The theoretical part defines the key concepts mentioned in the thesis related to the professional growth of teaching staff in kindergartens, the competences of teaching staff and last but not least the risks associated with the professional growth of teaching staff. The empirical part maps the issues of professional development of pedagogical staff in the selected kindergarten, a semi-structured interview was used for the research, carried out with the head and teachers of the kindergarten. Kratom as a candidate for a new topic in chemical education

The bachelor thesis aims to raise awareness of interested parties about the psychoactive substance kratom and to highlight the issue of kratom in today's society. It places the substance in a historical context and describes its different varieties together with its chemical content, phytochemistry, preparation, and use. The work also aims to outline the issue of kratom in terms of its addictive potential, legislation and places the issue in a school environment. Through two case studies, using data collection methods in the form of semi-structured interview, survey, and data analysis, specific situations of kratom use by school students, the approach of teachers together with the chosen solution, and the students' and teachers' attitudes towards the issue at hand are described. The whole work then sets the basis for a possible introduction of the kratom topic into chemistry lessons, for example through chemistry textbooks. The data obtained confirmed the increasing incidence of kratom use by secondary school students and the existence of kratom as one of the current topics among the young generation. A young man with stuttering

The topic of the bachelor thesis is a young adult with stuttering. The bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical parts. The theoretical part contains three chapters. The theoretical background of the thesis was prepared by a research of Czech and foreign literature and electronic information sources. The first chapter defines stuttering, then describes the etiology, symptomatology and classification of stuttering. In the second chapter attention is paid to speech therapy intervention in stuttering. Speech diagnostics of stuttering and speech therapy for stuttering are described in more detail in two subchapters. The third theoretical chapter presents current research on stuttering in adults. These researches were conducted in the Czech Republic and abroad. The theoretical part is followed by the empirical part, which is presented in the fourth chapter. The main aim of the empirical part of the bachelor thesis is to identify and describe the life course of a young adult with stuttering. Assessment strategies in Civic education

The aim of the diploma thesis is to document the issue of assessment in civic education at an elementary school by conducting a case study. The study was conducted through an in- depth interview with the teacher, a focus group interview with the students, and participatory observation. The collected data was subsequently analyzed using open coding and further interpreted using the ‚card sorting' method. The result is a perspective on assessment from both the teacher's and students' viewpoints compared with observations of specific teaching sessions. The results of this study were evaluated and further discussed from the perspective of the specifics of civic education. Additional potential options for utilizing assessment methods, tools, and techniques were proposed with consideration of the possibilities and goals of the particular teacher. This work can be considered beneficial for other teachers as it contributes to a better understanding of the assessment issues in civic education and offers specific suggestions and recommendations for improving this area. This contributes to enhancing the quality of teaching and supporting further professional development, not only for the author but also for other teachers.
