Popovová, Klára ; Ostřanský, Bronislav (advisor) ; Oudová Holcátová, Barbara (referee)
DIPLOMOVÁ PRÁCE Komu věří české konvertitky? Zdroje informací mladých pražských konvertitek k islámu Bc. Klára Popovová English Abstract At present, Islam is a hotly debated issue in the Czech society; however, we still know very little about our own Muslim minority and academic studies only started to focus on it in the last few years. Apart from native Muslims, several hundred converts to Islam live in the Czech Republic. These people discovered their religion as adults and have not been brought up with it. Where do women who have decided to become Muslims look for information and on what basis do they trust their sources? Apart from the above-mentioned questions, this thesis discusses other topics related to conversion of women to Islam, be it their motivation to convert or the response of their families and friends. The main contribution of this thesis consists of original quantitative research in which fifteen young women converts to Islam living in Prague took part. This sample provides an interesting insight into the lives of several Czech Muslim women and also a starting point for further, more complex research. From the respondents' answers, it is evident that the Internet, social networks, and information exchange between Czech Muslim women play an important part. More traditional sources, such as...

Číková, Anna ; Červinková, Monika (advisor) ; Vítek, Petr (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to map the system of admission of patients to inpatient psychiatric wards and to describe possible ways of forming a therapeutic relationship with the patient at the first contact. In the current situation in the Czech Republic, psychologist is not present in the admission ward, so the initial contact of the patient with the institution is mediated by the medical staff. I would like to show the possible benefits of including a psychologist in the admission process. The literature review part includes a description of the formation of the patient's relationship with the institution in the context of admission to acute care hospitals. I will discuss techniques for creating a positive first contact, i.e., bonding of the client to the institution. More specifically, the thesis will also address the management of aggressive patients and crisis intervention, as the dignity of acute admission patients already affects the relationship and trust with the institution and trust. The research design will be tailored to the as yet unexplored area of a psychologist's presence at admission to hospital. The main research question I will address will be the causality between a psychologist's presence at admission to hospital and the amount of patients refusing treatment. As a result of the...

The Truth in Media After Artificial Intelligence Application
Čejka, Pavel ; Moravec, Václav (advisor) ; Miessler, Jan (referee)
The master's thesis is devoted to the analysis of the challenges and opportunities brought by the emergence of generative artificial intelligence in the news media. The aim of this thesis is not only to explore what changes are expected in the media landscape as a result of the development of AI-produced content, but also to identify the ethical challenges associated with this technology. In particular, the thesis focuses on how the boundaries of truthfulness and defending reality are shifting under the influence of the development of AI-generated content. The thesis uses qualitative research through semi-structured interviews with AI experts. The main findings show that generative AI has the potential to transform news media and society as a whole. Experts agree that AI can help automate routine tasks, allowing journalists to engage in more analytical and insightful work. The changing paradigm of truth reflects society's transition to the digital era. However, with this progress comes challenges such as the potential for misuse of AI to produce infomation disorder and erode public trust in media content. Another important area of inquiry is the ethical and normative regulation of AI. The research highlights the need for discussion among experts, and the importance of transparency in training data...

Stibůrková, Kamila ; Harsa, Pavel (advisor) ; Peřinová, Radka (referee)
Title: The Relationship between a Coach and an Athlete Suffering from Eating disorder: Case Studies Objectives: The bachelor thesis aims to evaluate the relationship between a coach and an athlete suffering from an eating disorder. I aim to identify correlations emerging from individual case studies of participants who were coached, while also dealing with an eating disorder. My primary focus is analyzing the coach's behavior and its impact on the athlete within this context, particularly regarding trust and communication. Methods: In my thesis, I decided to do qualitative research in the form of semi-structured interviews. Then I created 4 case studies describing the stories of sportswomen who suffered from an eating disorder in the past. Results: Research results show that coaching behaviors and interactions can play a key role in the development of eating disorders in athletes. The analysis of the cases of female respondents shows that coaches who show insufficient understanding, inappropriate communication, and pressure to perform can contribute to negative self-evaluation and a decrease in self-confidence in athletes. These are all factors associated with the development of eating disorders. Keywords: eating disorders, anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, coach-athlete relationship, mental health,...
Communication and panic action
Čižinská, Kateřina ; Vinopal, Jiří (advisor) ; Šafr, Jiří (referee)
Crisis communication in today's world is influenced by globalisation and the interconnectedness of the world. People around the world access information quickly and from the comfort of their homes. Research focusing on crisis communication is gradually revealing the underlying models influencing crisis communication (risk perception theory, mental noise, negative dominance, trust determination, and emergent norm theory). Crisis communication can actively influence a person's resulting emotions. Sometimes it is important to make an apathetic audience more active and sometimes the goal is to calm the audience down again (Sandman, 2003). The form of the message or the setting of the audience itself can also play a role (Bier, 2001). There are more vulnerable populations who may find the message itself harder to understand, harder to adapt to change and/or may be more prone to panic behaviour (Lead, 2008, Mallon et al, 2013). The research itself focuses specifically on the effects of communication styles on populations at risk of an emergency. This is a secondary analysis of CVVM data from 2023 (N=861) and the primary method chosen is multiple regression. The communication styles selected are: sharing even less likely scenarios, differences in the role of the communicator of a given message, framing...
Sharenting from the perspective of parents and children aged 10-13
Zavadilová, Tereza ; Háša, Marek (advisor) ; Vochocová, Lenka (referee)
The thesis deals with the topic of sharenting through the perspective of parents and their children aged 10-13. Through the examined phenomenon, space is given to parents and children to express their own position. The research reflects the existing theoretical knowledge that defines the issue of sharenting. Using in-depth qualitative interviews, research with a parent-child dyad is elaborated. Data were analysed using a combination of thematic and conversation analysis. The main findings in this thesis show that children show trust towards their parents, but their attitude varies considerably according to the specific content and towards the subjects through whom the sharing of their own person is performed. According to children, disclosure of their information should only take place with their consent. For parents, sharenting is a new discipline about which not much information is available. Through the research it was found that there is no regular communication between parents and children on the topic being discussed. From participants' statements and the subsequent main findings of the research, it is confirmed that the issue of sharenting should be more widely known to the public. The results of this research can serve as a basis for conducting further research on sharenting.
Disinformation
Kovářová, Barbara ; Lupač, Petr (advisor) ; Šafr, Jiří (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the tendencies of Czech society to trust disinformation. The goal is to reveal which social factors best predict this tendency. The evaluation is based on an internet questionnaire survey of 862 respondents, and the results show that the most influential factors on the level of disinformation trust of an individual are the education, trust in institutions, trust in traditional media, trust in the government, feelings of anomie, perception of international solidarity, post-materialist value orientation, political knowledge, preference of alternative information sources compared to traditional ones and rejection of institutional information sources. In the discussion, interpretations of the data are formulated in relation to current literature and available empirical data. In the conclusion, steps are suggested to strengthen the population's resistance to disinformation. Trust between the workers of People and Roma clients.
Göttelová, Agáta ; Spalová, Barbora (advisor) ; Procházková, Barbora (referee)
Within the European Union, the Czech Roma minority faces one of the highest levels of discrimination. However, the approach of social workers who help Romani people solve problems caused by this discrimination has its specificities. Building trust in the relationship between the social worker and the Romanui client is one of the essential requirements for successful social work. My bachelor's thesis focuses on the relationship between a social worker and a Romani client, with an emphasis on trust. The theoretical part describes the concepts of social work, trust, and the Roma population. Furthermore, these concepts are interconnected, thus I describe trust in the context of social work, Romani clients in social work, and trust within the Roma population.Additionally, my work addresses two research questions - Research Question 1: How does trust manifest, build, and transfer within the context of social work with Romani clients? and Research Question 2: How does social work adapt to the cultural contexts of Romani clients? In the analytical part of the work, I analyze data obtained through semi-structured interviews and participant observation in selected services, primarily in a low-threshold facility for children and youth and in a preschool club. For ethical concerns, I am not mentioning the...
