Didactics use of Rokytka river-basin
Kapr, Jakub ; Andreska, Jan (advisor) ; Hanel, Lubomír (referee)
We live in the age of new discoveries and modern technologies and the education should not run behind the dynamic development of modern society as well. It should suit to actual trends and try to aplicate them to the education processes. In my thesis I deal with a lot of possibilities how to applicate modern technologies to the education of biology and how to use it during the pupil's home preparation. On the basis of student's attitude to the new technologies I made a material which combines the education in landscape with active multimedial preparation. Practically, I tested the colective work with this material, then I combined the gained knowledges with demostrative possibilities of the stream Rokytka. On the basis of these immediate knowledges I made a material which should lead the pupil to active searching of new information in multimedial programme and which should fix the knowledges gained in countryside.

"The wetland ecosystems of Sokolov region and their using in school practice" The topic of the thesis is to monitor the biodiversity of wetland ecosystems, with a focus on protected species at selected localities of Sokolov region. Localities that were studied - Nadlesí, Stará Ovčárna and pískovna Erika, have been selected with regard to their accessibility for schools. The objective of the thesis was also to propose the possibility of the didactic use of localities for the natural science and biology at primary schools, therefore, for each a site excursion was propose; with a follow up creation of worksheets. The theoretical part contains the definition of the term wetlands, Sokolov region characteristics and it also summarizes the previous inventory research conducted at the given localities. In the practical part, the floristic and zoological inventory is determined along with methodology and didactic applications, i.e. the descriptions of excursions, the real-life testing of the excursions in school practice and the worksheets.

Effects of acute starvation and of type 2 diabetes mellitus upon insulin resistance and substrate utilization in obese subjects
Duška, František ; Anděl, Michal (advisor) ; Haluzík, Martin (referee) ; Mourek, Jindřich (referee) ; Stárka, Luboslav (referee)
Very-low calorie diet or even total short-term fasting is widely used in clinical practice in order to improve metabolic compensation of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Although benefits of weight reduction are well proven in T2DM, much less is known about effects of acute starvation, during which the interruption of the afflux of energy substrates is not followed by a major change of body composition. We hypothesize the improvement of insulin effects on glucose metabolism in T2DM as these patients may lack the key metabolic responses which impair insulin sensitivity in lean, non-diabetic subjects. Moreover, we assume according to "thrifty genotype hypothesis" that protein wasting during starvation will be positively related to insulin effects on glucose disposal and negatively related to insulin antilipolytic and antiketogenic effects. In the light of this we designed an observational, prospective, in-hospital study, comparing the effects of 60 hours fast on various aspects of insulin resistance, endocrine regulation and metabolism in 10 patients with T2DM and 10 obese controls without diabetes (OB).

Liability for damage caused by a defective product
Chlaňová, Alice ; Švestka, Jiří (advisor) ; Salač, Josef (referee)
Alice Chlaňová Odpovědnost za škodu způsobenou vadným výrobkem 64 9. The liability for damage caused by defect of a product In my diploma thesis, I am concerned with one of the tools of policy to protect consumers that I consider as a very important and useful in the times of open market and free movement of goods. The tool discussed is the liability for damage caused by defect of a product, which entered in force on the 1st of June 1998 by the particular law no 59/1998 Coll., as amended by Act no 209/2000 Coll. The principal point of this civil proceedings is to enlarge heavily the present consumer protection formed mainly by the statutory regulation that is stated in the law no 634/1992 Coll., law on consumer protection, then in the law no 22/1997 Coll., law on technical requirements of products and others. I have been trying to conceive the law about the liability for damage caused by the defect of product from all basic viewpoints. It means that I am interested mainly in circumstances that the special regulation was adopted; what caused its mooring in the Czech legislation; consequences for consumers and also for producers. Furthermore, there is a survey of its correspondence with European regulation from which the Czech legislative regulation of liability for damage caused by defect of a product...

Literature of architextual tension
Šidák, Pavel ; Wiendl, Jan (advisor) ; Bílek, Petr (referee) ; Vojvodík, Josef (referee)
The dissertation deals with the literature influenced by religious experience. We do not attempt an overall solution of the issue of the relationship between aesthetics and theology; our goal is to describe the so-called "Catholic" literature as one of the possible models of "religious" literature. An ideal example of this model and the material basis of the thesis is Jan Čep's book Zeměžluč (Centaury, 1931). The study is divided into three parts: the first one summarizes the existing discussion of the problem in general (chapter 1), in theology and literary criticism (chapters 2 and 4), and it examines the usability of the term "ideology" (chapter 3). The second part develops our theoretical basis, the theory of intertextuality and interdiscursivity (chapter 6). The subject of this study is not a literary-historical era nor a genre in the traditional sense. We see it as a coalescence of two textual (semiotic) areas. The theory of interdiscursivity allows us to follow the textualization of religion: the mechanism through which real Catholicism as a religious fact turns into a system of signs, i.e. into a text, which is subject to the general laws and possibilities of a text description (Lotman, Piatigorski) (chapter 7). We regard the resulting area of a literary structure as a homogenous phenomenon of...

The application of language law and language policy in the protection of minorities in Germany. Exemplified by the dispute of the Wendish municipalities Crostwitz and Radibor with the state of Saxony in the years 2001-2006
Hartmanová, Lenka ; Kunštát, Miroslav (referee) ; Dovalil, Vít (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the apphcation of language law and language policy in the protection of minorities in Germany. In the conclusive case study the dispute of the Wendish Municipalities Crostwitz and Radibor with the State Saxony between 2001 - 2006 is analysed. The minority language protection in Germany cannot be understood properly without setting it in the broader intemational and European minority protection :framework. Intemational treaties and soft law of UNO, OSCE, Council of Europe and European Union create a complex system of protection. Particularly the European Charter for Regional and Minority Languages by Council of Europe meant a breakthrough in minority protection. The Federal Republic of Germany recognises as minority languages on its territory Danish, Frisian, Romani, Sorbian, and Low German as a regional language. The thesis analyses the legal and institutional anchorage of the minority language rights in Germany. Essential for the vitality of a language is the socio - economic situation of its speakers. Many minority languages are used in economically weak regions and are threatened by a reflux of the speakers. The third pillar is the representation of the minority and regional languages in the culture and education, which enables and assures its transfer to future generations....
