Orosz, Előd ; Dědek, Oldřich (advisor) ; Turnovec, František (referee)
The relation between the euro cash changeover and the perceived inflation in the Baltic countries Abstract This thesis focuses on the effect of euro cash changeover on inflation perception, and its relation to the inflation measured by central banks or by national statistical offices. We present an analyses of inflation gap in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania at the euro introduction and detect its determinants by econometric methods. We use Ordinary Least Squares, Random Effects Generalized Least Squares and Fixed Effects estimator. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part examines the theoretical background of perceived inflation and focuses at the phenomenon of increased inflation gap at the euro introduction. Second part contains an empirical study on inflation gap. We find out that perceived inflation in Baltic countries does not show such a divergence, as it was presented at the establishment of the Eurozone. Moreover, we find out that education and available income in general has a small, but evincible effect on inflation gap observed at euro introduction.

Veretelnyk, Iegor ; Vachková, Marie (advisor) ; Hejhalová, Věra (referee)
The work concerns the study of limited collocational paradigms in modern German. It is based on the corpus cooccurrence analysis and aims at the clearing up of the phenomenon of the so- called monocollocability. After the undertaken analyses and reflections there came a conclusion that corroborated the original point of view, namely, that the so-called monocollocability presents a multiplex phenomenon, where a metaphore of centre and periphery seems to be appropriate. In the analyses there occur semantically neutral word, inherently bound on certain collocated for formal reasons.

Blog as a phenomenom of online journalism
Hesounová, Martina ; Huněk, Filip (advisor) ; Křeček, Jan (referee)
This thesis titled Blog as a phenomenon of online journalism focuses on public perception of blogs, printed media and online versions of printed media. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters, which deal with online journalism, blogs and its history, new media and the last chapter is about possible journalism future. The practical part of my thesis is based on quantitative analysis and qualitative research. The quantitative research applies surveys as a data gathering method with randomly chosen sample of respondents. The qualitative research uses in-depth interviews conducted with students studying New media or Journalism degrees at the Charles University. In the empirical part of my thesis, the study sets out three key hypotheses. After the interpretation of both research methods we found out that women of age 25 or lower prefer to read blogs rather than magazines about beauty. The second hypothesis states that the most trustworthy media type perceived by women is the press. This hypothesis has been proven as well. Furthermore, the results from the survey indicated that a price is not the most important factor for choosing the media type. However, it still belongs among the three most important factors that respondents base their decision on when choosing a media type. Lastly the...

Zirconia-based and Chiral Stationary Phases in Pharmaceutical Analysis
Kučera, Radim ; Sochor, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Blešová, Marie (referee) ; Pospíšilová, Marie (referee)
Disertační práce Summary High performance liquid chromatography achieved during its existence enormous boom. Modern, PC controlled and user-friendly chromatographic devices allow performing a number of tens analyses on one apparatus daily. There is possible to analyse wide spectrum of compounds from non-polar to polar and from low molecular to high molecular analytes. Appropriate choice of chromatographic column, mobile phase and detection technique makes the analysis of complicated mixtures possible and allow obtaining both qualitative and quantitative information. HPLC is due to these characteristics utilized not only in the field of pharmacy but also in other areas e.g. biology, medicine, industry, environment monitoring and quality control of various products. Separation column is the most important part of the chromatographic system. The availability of stable, high performance chromatographic phases is the essential requirement for the development of a rugged and reproducible method. Nowadays, most HPLC separations have been done in the reversed-phase mode on the silica-based columns. This phenomenon is due to many positive properties of silica - mechanical strength, well mastered manufacture of silica particles, easy modification of silica surface, compatibility with water rich mobile phases etc. The...

The goal of this work is first to introduce the issue of corporate philanthropy on the theoretical level and next to describe the local philanthropic practices in two very different cultures -- in the Czech Republic and in Hong Kong. The data from researches carried out in these two countries were used for the analyses of the state of local philanthropy. The results of such analyses were then compared and the local characteristics as well as weak and strong points in the respective regions were identified. In what respects is the philanthropy in both countries similar and where does is it differ? Hong Kong is a country of long capitalistic tradition and is also a regional center for many multinational companies, which traditionally engage in these activities. Is this country with its culture of corporate philanthropy ahead of us and is there something we can learn from Hong Kong? Based on this comparison we can search for inspiration, possible risks and solutions. This work was elaborated using specialized bibliography focusing on the matter of corporate philanthropy. An invaluable source of information proved to be internet, mainly because philanthropy is a relatively new phenomenon in Czech Republic and there is not a large number of monographies concerning this topic. Lastly materials and works from various foundations, mainly the Czech Donors Forum, were utilized.

Second part of the thesis links the framing tools with three stages of the delegitimization of the west - a crisis of confidence, a conflict of legitimacy and a crisis of legitimacy. The...

Birth Trauma
Kovaříková, Zuzana ; Goldmann, Petr (advisor) ; Procházková, Jana (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to present the concern with the issue of birth trauma. Theoretical part deals with birth as a psycho-physiological process and a socio-cultural phenomenon. Practical part constitutes of interviews with women who experienced traumatising birth. The interview material is analysed by use of qualitative metodology and is presented as birth stories. Birth is a very sensitive time in both child's and mother's lives and plays a crucial role in forming their relationship. It can be the most beautiful experience in woman's life and, from the psychological point of view, a big source of energy, self- confidence and pride which positively influence the mother-child relationship. On the other hand, childbirth experience can turn into an extreme psychological distress resulting in feelings of guilt and one's inferiority and have long-term negative effects on the integrity of the mother-child relationship. The thesis presents a complex variety of circumstances and reasons which may result in birth trauma. It focuses on the influence of obstetric care and communication between medical staff and the birthing woman that often lead to birth trauma and place a great strain on the mother-child relationship. The present work also discusses ways of dealing with the problem. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
