Weather forecast as communication. Information value and manipulating strategy
Bělohlávková, Kateřina ; Janovec, Ladislav (referee) ; Chejnová, Pavla (advisor)
The topic of the Bachelor's thesis is Weather forecast as communication. Information value and manipulating strategy and it is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part provides the explanation of weather forecast, information values, information transmission and its coding, of the problem of manipulation and its strategy. The information is borrowed from technical literature and some articles dealing with this topic. The practical part results from a questionnaire which is mainly focused on the problem of understanding and a right interpretation of the terminology used in weather forecast. On the basis of gained results I try to demonstrate that the apparent manipulation is actually based on wrong decoding of weather forcast and misunderstanding of the forecast terminology. The results are illustrated by quantitative tables and graphs which are followed by my own interpretation. The conclusion of this Bachelor's thesis shows that recipients are not able to decode weather forecast in a proper way. They mostly misunderstand information inserted in weather forecast that leads them to the feeling of being manipulated.

Fanta, Ondřej ; Jelen, Karel (advisor) ; Tlapáková, Eva (referee)
Biomechanical response to the impact cranio burden is especially closely related topic the biomechanics of head injuries on impact, often in a car accident. Acquired knowledge can be applied in all activities in which there is a head on collision obstacle. Mechanisms responsible accidents in sports, such as falls cycling, lyžích or due to the nature of sport itself, eg. boxing, rugby, ice hockey, etc. The study has to outline a comprehensive overview and sequence of events and biomechanical patterns, which occurs when the head impact into obstacles. The main challenge will be to physically and biomechanically describe the sequence of injuries on impact and maximize the přiblížit to real injury that created obstacles to the head impact (windshield, dashboard, steering wheel, airbag, roadway, rival, fist, rail, ...). An essential part of understanding the basic knowledge anatomy of the head and Traumatology, certain specifics of injuries in traffic accidents and in frontal collision and biomechanical evaluation of head injuries. Return to ontologic understanding of natural law
Kvapil, Lukáš ; Kysela, Jan (referee) ; Wintr, Jan (advisor)

Pragmatic motivation of cliché from the point of view of an interpreter
Barciuc, Ina ; Rejšková, Jana (referee) ; Abdallaova, Naděžda (advisor)
This thesis offers a comparison of the research of clichés in three languages: English, Czech and Russian. Clichés are just one possible manifestation of how speech can be automatized and syntactic structures that can be reproduced and identified are created. This complex phenomenon must be studied through the prism of lexicology, stylistics and pragmatics. Understanding and interpretation of this phenomenon differs depending on linguistic schools and single authors, some linguists hold a negative opinion of clichés, some believe that in certain types of discourse clichés are necessary. There is no unified definition of a cliché either. This thesis is focused on clichés in political discourse where the pragmatic dimension of clichés and their functions in relation to users, both politicians and their listeners, is studied. Clichés are a prominent stylistic element which may have a significant impact on the work of an interpreter. This is why the empirical part is aimed at clichés from the interpreter's perspective. An experiment involving 14 professional intepreters is set up in order to study their attitude towards clichés.

Ettlerová, Magdalena ; Šubrt, Jiří (referee) ; Duffková, Jana (advisor)
This thesis deals with the importance and role of tradition in the contemporary way of life. The term tradition represents ideas, physical objects and conduct patterns which are repeated, bringing values connected with the past, collective in observing and transmitting, including an aspect of the control executed by the authority. My thesis presents a widen postulate of the present decreasing importance of the tradition influenced by the Enlightenment. The text refers to the still continuing and newly rising traditions. The tradition maintains its position because 75 of its important functions on forming someone's identity, on the world understanding and on the individual position in the society. Without any doubt, the position of the tradition has changed a lot as compared to the traditional society. People are now less influenced by traditional authorities defending theirs own independence. They follow a tradition when it is profitable and attractive for them. They often try to avoid the unwanted duties and engagements. Individuals have now more opportunities to meet different ways of life, other traditions and customs. Today's man is more aware of ununiversality of his own tradition and is taking his way of life more reflexively. The human society should avoid the extreme situations - i.e. intolerance...

Alteration of some psychological methods, which are applicable school readiness at hearing-impaired children
Frývaldská-Betinská, Markéta
There is a wide range of different psycho diagnostics methods for evaluation of the school readiness of the pre-school children; however, there is no single method that is standardized or has benchmarks for hard-hearing and deaf children in the Czech Republic. This dissertation describes strong and weak point of the standard psycho diagnostic methods as well as provides recommendation which methods shall be used for psycho diagnostics of the school readiness of the hard-hearing and deaf children. The dissertation also outlines particular testing methodology for the hard-hearing and deaf children. The nine most frequently used methods were chosen for the dissertation research. A questionable understanding of the standard instruction has been indicated in seven methods: Screening Test of School Readiness, Ravens Progressive Matrices, Reversal Test, Retracing Test, Laterality Test and Drawing test of Human and Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales. Two methods cannot be used for hard-hearing or deaf children at all, since they test ability to recognize sounds of the speech; this was a Test of auditory differentiation a WPPSI Performance Scale. Moreover, WPPSI Performance Scale is a pure verbal based test focused on measuring verbal intelligence.

The Russian Translations of A Clockwork Orange
Václavová, Andrea ; Hlaváček, Antonín (advisor) ; Hříbková, Radka (referee)
The diploma thesis "Russian translations of A. Burgess' novel lA Clockwork Orange" deals with the question of translation of Russian words used in the book written in English into Russian. It also deals with the problem whether the former aesthetic value of the original is being preserved in the translated works as well. You will discover linguistic and literary analyses of the original version and its three Russian translations (which were published in Russia under the title 'Заводной апельсин') and a comparison of them. The Sinélščikov's translation seems to be the most successful at the first sight. He translates the Russian expressions used in English by English and American words. But only if you read the whole book you will find out that he slightly changes the original plot and thus he also shifts the meaning of the novel. In other words he does not preserve the original aesthetic value of Burgess' work. In comparison, Nëtësovova's translation is the most successful of all as for the maintenance of artistic value of the book. Paradoxically, the most often published Bošnjak's translation is excessively vulgar and it is the less imaginative translation of all. His translation does not give the reader the possibility to get known or to understand the meaning of Burgess' literary work. Powered by TCPDF...
