Teacher the beginner

My Diploma Thesis "Newly qualified teachers" is devoted to new teachers with less than 3 years of teaching experience after they graduated from accredited college and received a degree as a teacher. My focus is on the teachers in elementary schools. The goal of the theoretical part of my thesis is to collect technical information, opinions, ideas and knowledge from experts in the teaching profession in general, to characterize the new teacher's personality. In the few chapters I ponder possible fears, concerns, weaknesses and needs of the new teachers, and I also mention problematic field of the evaluation and self assessment of a new teacher. The content of the practical part of my thesis is exploratory inquiry using a method of survey. The goal of the questions and answers is to find out if the orientation of new teachers in elementary schools is functioning well with prepared orientation plan, and to identify and map out the problem areas that the new, inexperienced teachers feel in the beginning of their teaching carrier, and subsequently to detect and identify the new teachers' needs. Analysis of a beginning teacher and his common problems in an educational process

Thesis "Beginning teacher - analysis of his personality, work and the most common problems in his work" deals with the personality of a beginning teacher, mentions the most common problems in his work and tries to find ideas for improving the situation. As the same times in analyses the selected components of his personality, which usually participates the lack of attention, especially in preparing future teachers, and which usually not mentioned in proper context. It focuses primary on the professional competence of teachers in relation to the student's core competencies as well as in other contexts. It also discusses the role of novice teachers in the context of the transformation of the Czech education system and also in the context of the Lisbon process. Analyses of key documents are included too. Great attention is paid to think about the different problematic areas concerning the work of novices teachers. In this context, the author focuses on the matter of authority and educational styles. It is based not only on the special literature but also on the sound, which took the form of numerous interview, surveys, questionnaires and observation. Social skills of teachers and possibilities of their development orientated on beginning teachers

This thesis "Social skills of teachers and possibilities of their development, orientated on beginning teachers" looks into posibility of utilization of videotraining of interactions method (VTI) for development of social skills in teachers-beginners. Theoretical part focuses on analysis of current state in pre- and postgraduated education, its oriented on their personality and social skills, mainly on communication skills. Practical part deals with presence of development of social skills in beginning teachers. Effect of VTI of the development is tested. This method is prepared for this goal. Collected data comes from observation of 14 teachers and this data are analyzed by programm V.I.P. The outcome is a fact that VTI method has significant influence on global development of teacher's social skills. VTI has positive influence in field "activation of students" (mainly affirmative attachement and paraphrasing students" statements).

TITLE: The first two years of the beginning teacher AUTHOR: Iveta Fukalová DEPARTMENT: School Management Center SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Jan Voda, PhD. ABSTRACT: This final thesis focuses on introducing the teachers-beginners to the teaching practice in the kindergartens. It is based on the requirements on a teacher-beginner, an introductory teacher and the headmaster of the school, their common goals and the ways of co-operation. It describes competences of the roles of both the teachers, conditions for the adjustment to the new environment, the way of communication and a social role in the working team of the kindergarten. It concentrates on a various level of care devoted to the beginners, often inadequate and demotivating, on a positive attitude of the headmaster and selecting the convenient introductory teacher. In the practical part of the thesis, results of a survey are introduced. The survey focuses on the ideas of teachers-beginners, the feedback of experienced teachers and the views of headmasters on the given problem. Mentoring in a period of professional adaptation of teachers in the secondary schools

The thesis is focused on the process of mentoring and its application in the process of professional adaptation of teachers in secondary schools. The aim of the work is based on a literature review of available literature and the results of the research to describe and analyze the process of mentoring in a period of professional adaptation of secondary school teachers. In the theoretical part are explained the basic concepts related to the topic, are described the process of adaptation of teachers, characteristic of mentoring, role of mentor, mentoring relationship, further characteristic of mentor, forms, strategies, risks and benefits of mentoring. In the empirical part are described the implementation and results of quantitative research by the semistructured interview with the directors of the secondary schools, which focused on the way, how the process of mentoring in a period of professional adaptation of teachers in the secondary schools works and what specific ways of support are in the process of mentoring in a period of professional adaptation of teachers in the secondary school applied. The results of the research are useful for recommendations for the creator of the educational system. Personality and social education and its influence on the classroom climate

This work is focused on the topic of school class climate and its enhancement by the methods of personality and social education in a concrete class where the author is working as a teacher. The theoretical part is dedicated to the class climate and its characteristics. It describes what influences, by which methods it can be investigated and what can it be influenced by. In the practical part the author uses the methods of the teacher's active research to investigate the climate in her own class and also self-reflexively examines herself from the view of the beginning teacher. During the time period of one school year continually monitors the climate in her class and states the most effective ways towards improvement. The results of the research show that the methods of personality and social education have an influence to the class climate if they are used in a natural and casual manner. Specifics of the work of a novice teacher when integrating a pupil with a different mother tongue at a Czech primary school

This thesis deals with the problematics of the work of a novice teacher, who has a pupil with a different mother tongue in his class. Its aim is to identify the specifics that usually accompany the work of novice teachers when integrating these pupils. The text is structured into two parts, each of which is further divided into several chapters. The first, theoretical, part compiles and then presents expert knowledge on migration, inclusion and then education of pupils with a different mother tongue and, last but not least, the role of the school as well as teachers in the process of integration of these children. It also sets out the criteria that affect and influence pupil integration with a different mother tongue. The second part of the thesis is practical. It contains an analysis of the work of two teachers who currently have pupils with a different mother tongue in their class and are trying to integrate them. It is focused on the specifics of working with them. The analysis of their work is carried out on the criteria set out at the end of the theoretical part of this thesis. Health literacy of beginning teachers

One of the areas concerning the medical literacy is the first aid giving. The aim of this diploma thesis is to answer the question whether the skills of beginning teachers concerning the first aid are on a sufficient level and whether the teachers are able to react adequately in emergency situations. The theoretical part describes the bases of these skills. It analyses the accident rate of children, professional training of teachers, new methods and projects how to increase the medical literacy of teachers. The practical part provides the results of a questionnaire survey analysing the first aid skills of beginning teachers. It observes whether the level of teachers is sufficient and whether they are able to react properly in health endangering situations. It also discusses the opinions of teachers concerning the first aid giving and the general vision of the first aid area in school environment. The conclusion of the survey shows that the teachers' first aid skills are not up to standard and that teachers assess the professional training concerning the first aid as insufficient.
