The social and psychological support for families of children with disabilities through the family counseling/therapy

The diploma thesis entitled Sociopsychological Support for Families with Disabled Children through Family Therapy consists of a theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part describes the individual types of disabilities and their effect on the family, deals with the specific aspects of a family with a disabled child and the impact of a traumatic event in the form of a child's disability on the individual members of the family. It also presents a detailed concept of family therapy, including specific therapeutic methods and tools. The empirical part of the thesis consists of a qualitative survey that examines the effect of the child's disability on the family system and the options of using family therapy in this target group. The survey is based on interviews with the individual members of families with disabled children.
Issues in Communication of Medical Staff and Persons with Mental Disabilities

This thesis focuses on the issue of intercommunucation between medical personnel and persons with mental disabilities. The aim is to explore various communication approaches and attitudes of medical personnel towards mentally disabled patients, especially during medical examinations, via qualitative research. The literary overview section describes theoretical starting points with emphasis on mentally disabled persons' communication, as well as levels of professionality in relationships towards them. The empirical section deals with research, conducted in a form of seventeen interviews with six mentally disabled participants, five medical personnel and six social workers, who accompany their clients for medical appointments. The findings were processed by using a method of thematic analysis. It concludes, that despite improvements in approaches and attitudes of medics towards mental patients, discrimination is still prevalent, especially in cases of hospitalization and new registration with doctors. Inclusive education of a girl with mild mental disability in elementary school

This bachelor thesis aims to describe the specifics of inclusive education of the elementary school, who was diagnosed with light mental disability. It is the work of theoretical-empirical. The theoretical part characterizes mental disability. It also describes inclusive education and support measures that provide pupils with light mental disabilities. The practical part is processed by the case study method. The aim of the research was to present possible positives and negatives to intergrate the pupil into the common educational stream. The results of this research showed the need to create a suitable stimulating environment for the pupil not only at school but also at home. The education herself should take place in a smaller place in a smaller collective together with intact pupils under the guidance of an experienced pedagogical worker. Furthermore, it is evident from the research that the education of the pupil in the main curriculum is enriching, since mutual interaction has the impact on all participating - so they have the opportunity to learn each other. Teacher's authority by mental disability children

Diploma thesis deal with topic of teacher's authority, specifically by pupils with mild mental retardation. Authority is polysemous term so it is impossible to limit it only for one definition but it is necessary to look at it as a process which is formed in a long-term interaction - in this thesis namely between teachers and pupils. In the theoretical part I pay attention to the term authority in a historical and modern point of view and also contexts authority with phenomenons as for example media or discipline. Shortly I mention personality of pupils with mild mental retardation and teacher's personality. Attention is also paid to communication with pupils, solving problems at school and relationship teacher - pupil. In the practical part I condukt a survey of this phenomenon using qualitative method of halfstructured dialogues. In order to it could be objectively assessed perception of authority by pupils with mild mental retardation it is necessary to compare (their) results with pupils without mild mental retardation, with whom were led discussions too. Lili game application

Main focus of this diploma thesis is the development of educational game app for people with severe mental disabilities, designed for the iOS platform, primarily for iPad. The Lili application is an application designed for people with moderate to severe mental disabilities. Its purpose is to provide user with a set of fun rehabilitational or educational activities on a suitable platform. The goal is to not only make these activities engaging but also giving the user as much independence as possible. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the motivation behind creation of this app and its possible contribution to special education and personal use. It also describes the process by which the app was created - from consultations with special educators, through testing to the creation of a graphical user interface. It also discusses the choice of platform and tools. Thanks to consultations in the game media studio, the original prototype changed its user interface and also expanded to include more games, specifically painting, sound recognition, coloring book and color recognition. Thanks to consultations in the studio, the application has been completed and is ready for release in the App Store.
Role of father in family with children with mental disability

This diploma thesis deals with father of a child with mental disability. Thesis is divided in the theoretical and the experimental part. The theoretical part contains information about the role of fathers and men in families with a child with mental disabilities. Experimental part presents research using internet questionnaire focused on the role of father a child with mental disabilities. The second part of the research were related phenomenological interviews with fathers of children with intellectual disabilities or autism. The aim of the research is to describe and capture the experiences of these men.
