User-generated content and its use in news media
Šesták, Martin ; Švelch, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Jirák, Jan (referee)
This diploma thesis aims to explore the increasing activity of internet users who intensively create, publish and spread their own content. The majority of this content is related to news and traditional forms of mass media organizations, which now must contend with the new means in which to disseminate information. The theoretical portion of this thesis describes the development of network media and strives for ground active user participation in media discourse and a historical context. Kinds of user-created contents will be introduced, defining their characteristics and analyzes these users who are called "prosumers" or "produsers" in the Web 2.0 era. Attention is also focused on user-generated content accessed by news websites and citizen journalism. The second part analyzes how the foremost world news media use and benefit from user-generated content. Examined media are iReport CNN, uReport Fox News and Have Your Say BBC. The text also analyzes the Czech news media, especially ČT24 news channel and main Czech news websites. The thesis closes with a comparison between Czech and world media and offers analysis of different media organizations approaches to user-generated content. Both parts of the thesis focus on web and television news service.

Macro-economic costs analysis and time determination of joining European Monetary Union
Zámečník, Michal ; Mandel, Martin (advisor) ; Brůna, Karel (referee)
The main aim of this thesis is to discover a suitable instant of time for the Czech Republic to join European Monetary Union. I am analyzing dependence between monetary policies of the Czech National Bank (CNB) and the European Central Bank (ECB) themselves as well as in relation to essential Czech macroeconomic indicators. My observation is focused on interest rate policies represented by operative interest rates, on monetary policies represented by indices of nominal effective exchange rates and on convergence monitoring. The analytical instruments I used in the thesis are correlation analyses, linear trends, the Granger causality test and the Impulse-Reaction test. Besides, my thesis examines fulfillment of the Convergence (Maastricht) criteria in the Czech Republic and other central European countries. This thesis also examines impact of the European monetary policy on some Eurozone member countries.

Preliminary measures and receiving evidence
Drbohlavová, Šárka ; Winterová, Alena (advisor) ; Frintová, Dita (referee)
This rigorous work deals with institute of preliminary measures and institute of receiving evidence, which has been handled at second Catch of first Part of Rules of Civil Procedure. The preliminary measures have provisory function in the time prior to a decision is passed or more precisely prior to force of law of this decision or even on a very start of legal process, i.e. in the time when there does not exist any decision about the law which will be ensured by a court in the future. The preliminary measures can be ordered by the court on the proposal in the time when there arose a need to provisionally treat the interrelations between party to an action or in the case if there is a doubt that the execution of a judgment could be threatened. The description of the preliminary measures is exemplarily described in the provision of Section 76. Rules of Civil Procedure among others govern special types of the preliminary measures: the provision of Section 76a preliminary measure in the case of minors and the provision of Section 76b preliminary measure in the case of domestic abuse. The preliminary measures are also governed in special laws such as Act on Insolvency and Its Resolution No. 182/2006 Coll., Family Act No. 94/1963 Coll., Asylum Act No. 325/1999 Coll. The procedure in which the court decides about...

Fictional communication and representation of consciousness in narrative fiction
Koten, Jiří ; Kubíček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Bílek, Petr (referee) ; Češka, Jakub (referee)
The thesis deals with the topic of narrative fiction. It primarily focuses on the nature of a fictional discourse and the general issue of fictionality. Problems are viewed from a pragmatic point of view, i.e. we are primarily concerned with the behaviour of participants in communication exchanges, exploring the activity of speakers (authors) and recipients (readers). Our starting point was the so-called "theory of pretence", which was promoted by founders of the speech-act theory in order to explain and clarify fictionality. According to these scholars, the language of fiction is "parasitic" (Austin); it's an utterance lying outside the circumstances that could make it a successful illocutionary act (Searle, Ohmann). The path to more appropriate reformulation of "illocutionary" theory of fictionality leads through the scope of possible worlds. This approach suggests that a fictional discourse should be considered as a narrative of facts about the world (Lewis). In this case, in addition to the authors who imitate narrative, we can also take into account their fictional counterparts, narrators, who narrate either truthfully or falsely. Furthermore, it is believed that the creation of fiction is not an imitation, but a full speech activity, "doing things by words", which requires world-formative power. It...

Modification the block IS/ICT Project Management by the risk management
Kocman, Martin ; Chocholatý, Drahomír (advisor) ; Hausmann, Oto (referee)
The aim of this thesis is modification of the teaching block IS/ICT Project Management at the Department of Information Technologies of the Prague University of Economics by the risk management issues. At present, insufficient space is given to this topic and this may thus create the feeling with the students that this is a marginal issue in the project management. The theoretical starting points to this thesis are above all the PMBOK methodologies of the PMI organization and further the PRINCE2 of the OGD organization. As these are the internationally acknowledged IT project management standards, therefore the key significance is given to them as to the theoretical starting points. Naturally, the part of these methodologies related to the project management is utilized of them. To sketch in the point of view of the issue, the RIPRAN methodology is added that is of Czech origin and was developed by doc. Ing. Branislav Lacko of the Brno University of Technology. This methodology deals only with the risk management. The own new point of view of the risk management that comes out from the above-mentioned theoretical presumptions is divided into following parts: planning, identification, qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis, project simulation, evaluation. As the primary utilization of this thesis is for the students of the Prague University of Economics, namely above all for the students of the given course, this fact is taken into account also in the course of work with the risks. This means, among others, that it is not possible to implement the project according to the plan, and thus simulation tools are utilized for its implementation. All aspects coming out from this school environment have been included in the thesis. A tool in MS EXCEL table editor has been developed for the work with the risks where all steps of the risk management are carried out, namely including the data for subsequent creation of the outputs -- reports, analyses, etc. An advantage of this environment is the possibility of its utilization for automatic procedures. Full use of this characteristic has been made in the tool.

Huehuetlatolli - moral lessons not only of the old Aztecs
Deylová, Iva ; Křížová, Markéta (advisor) ; Korecká, Zuzana (referee)
The diploma thesis "Huehuetlatolli - moral lessons not only of the old Aztecs" examines this rather unknown genre of Nahua literature from various viewpoints. The original form of these probably only orally transmitted traditions is nowadays known due to the records made by two Spanish Franciscan missionaries Andrés de Olmos and Bernardino de Sahagún. Both of them started showing interest in the indigenous cultures and traditions immediately after arriving in the area of the present Mexico at the beginning of the colonization period. The analysis presented in this work is based on the Volume VI of the book Historia general de las cosas de Nueva Espaa written by Bernardino de Sahagún. The introductory chapters offer a rather general description of Nahua culture and its relationship to the most famous pre-Columbian ethnic group - the Aztecs. This information was largely obtained through the study of texts of both Mexican and foreign scholars such as Ángel María Garibay, Miguel León-Portilla, Markéta Křížová, and others. The text also mentions how the missionaries Andrés de Olmos and Bernardino de Sahagún collected the texts. I also provide arguments why I chose texts edited by Bernardino de Sahagún as a source of this thesis. Additionally, it was also important to classify and mention the main characteristics...

The meaning of renaming
Kramolišová, Hana ; Roubalová, Marie (referee) ; Beneš, Jiří (advisor)
It is very interesting to observe how much is man influenced by his name, and how it is change affects him. In the ancient world the name was regarded differently from nowadays. Its dimension was more mystical and it was an inseparable part of one man's personality. In biblical times, people stressed the role of name much more, which can be illustrated on an example of leviratical rule. One of its purpose was to preserve the name and at the same time memory of deceased man in Israel. This example is a positive testimony of the power of name. But we must still keep in mind that acquaintance of concrete name gave another person a possibility to grab, handle or abuse another man through such a knowledge. This might be why the God does not let us know His name and therefore stays hidden and ungraspable to us. Very important act connected to name is renaming. This phenomenon which is present throughout the whole Bible and stresses undeniable power of name. This work is mainly focused on this biblical phenomenon and it tries to cover the whole field of renaming with complexity and coherence.

Regulation of professional services - case of sworm interpreter
Havlínová, Nikola ; Zemplinerová, Alena (advisor) ; Lipka, David (referee)
This thesis focuses on the issue of working licences for sworn interpreters. Sworn interpretation is a service used in both the private and the state spheres when there is a need for sworn interpreting or translation. The interpreting work or translation is then performed by sworn interpreters appointed by the state. The conditions for appointing a sworn interpreter are subject to legislation. However, concisely speaking the service guarantees that the translation or interpreting work performed by a state-appointed sworn interpreter conforms to the original text. The translation or interpreting work is furnished with the sworn interpreter's personal seal, and can then be used during dealings with the authorities and so on. In this work I have examined the legislative framework of sworn interpreting, the economic justification for the working licences and the practical experience of translation agencies that make use of the services of sworn interpreters. I have contacted a total of 44 translation agencies through questionnaires and this has allowed me to make a genuine assessment of their experience. In addition to these agencies I have also contacted all the regional courts with powers to appoint sworn interpreters in order to ascertain their approach to the interpretation of legislation as it stands. In the conclusion I summarise all the theoretical and practical experience I have uncovered and the contribution of my work.

Comparison of Instrument Transformer and Sensor Applications in Feeder Terminal REF 542plus
Hrycík, Tomáš ; Majer, Karol (referee) ; Orságová, Jaroslava (advisor)
The aim of this Master´s thesis is use of instrument transformers and sensors on field of industry protection. We will compare current and voltage transformers, current sensor – based on Rogowski coil, voltage sensor – based on voltage divider. By this measure devices, we can monitoring values of analog quantities in medium voltage switchgear. It is impossible to compare, measure and analyze without this measure devices. There is protection terminal REF542plus, which can compile this values. The REF542plus ability are measuring, monitoring, remote control and protection. First, we will discuss about theory of sensors and convential instrument transformers and analysis of analog signal. We will compare analog input channel on sensor´s analog module and transformer´s analog module. There are few differences between type of analog modules. For analog signal analysis are important frequency filters and Analog/ Digital Convertor (sigma-delta). We will describe functions and options of REF542plus. In practical part of this project, we will test protection functions of protection terminal. First, protection terminal will be connected to sensors. Second protection terminal will be connected to transformers. For testing we chose Earth-fault directional protection and differential protection. We will make only secondary tests. That´s mean, input analog quantities to REF542plus will be simulated by tester. In all we will verify quality of protection. We will focus on lower settings of protection and we will inject protection by low current. Objectives are testing of trip characteristics and measuring of trip time.

Comparing the influence of agrarian parties of Czechoslovakia and Finland in 1917-1929
