Organizational climate and job satisfaction
Ke zpracování předložené disertační práce "Organizační klima a pracovní spokojenost" mě vedly dva hlavní důvody. Prvním důvodem byla pociťovaná potřeba širšího teoretického zpracování problematiky organizačního klimatu a pracovní spokojenosti a potřeba reflektovat velmi "uvolněné" užívání těchto pojmů v poradenské i řídící praxi, se kterým se již dlouhá léta setkávám. Druhým důvodem tematického zaměření práce je můj profesní zájem, kterým je problematika řízení lidí. Zpracování tématu v rámci této oblasti mi umožnilo uplatnit teoretické znalosti i poznatky z praxe řízení organizací. Pojem klima v souvislosti s...

Stará Boleslav (Central Bohemia) - Přemyslid stronghold in the early middle ages
Boháčová, Ivana ; Klápště, Jan (advisor) ; Sláma, Jiří (referee) ; Moždzioch, Slawomir (referee)
Boleslav is one of the most frequently mentioned Czech Early Medieval sites in the written records of the Middle Ages. The reason for this is an event that took place here, at the seat of a member of the ruling Přemyslid family, and which was a key moment in the formative period of the early Czech state - the murder of Prince Wenceslas by his brother Boleslav. Until the end od the 1980's the reports of such written sources, which were concerned mainly with the person of Prince Wenceslas, were essentially the only source of information about the site, which - as a place belonging to the Přemyslids and later a capitular seat played an importatn role in the early period of the development of the Přemyslid state in particular, although in the late Middle Ages its importance declined. Czech Press Photo 1995-2005 : picture content analysis of winning photographies in General News and Spot News categories
Vitoušová, Valérie ; Turek, Pavel (referee) ; Lábová, Alena (advisor)
Bachelor thesis "CZECH PRESS PHOTO 1995 - 2005: Picture content analysis of winning photographies in General News and Spot News categories" deals with the content of the photographies, which have won first eleven yearly awards of the photographic contest Czech Press Photo in the categories General News and Spot News. The aim of this work is to analyse, which events were so important that they gave rise to the winning photographies and which topics frequently appeared in the pictures. The second monitored aspect is the photography's location of origin and probation or refutation of the hypothesis, whether the local events provide enough visually appealing events or whether the photographers have to seek the photographic topics abroad.

Turbocodes and their application in telecommunication systems
Trčka, Tomáš ; Křivánek, Vítězslav (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
This Diploma thesis deals with Turbo code problems. The Turbo codes belong to the group of error correction codes, sometimes referred to as forward error correcting (FEC) codes or channel codes. This thesis can be thematically divided into two basic parts. The first part describes turbo code encoder and decoder block diagram with the illustration of two most frequently used iterative decoding algorithms (SOVA and MAP). The end of this part contains best known turbo codes, which are used in present communication systems. The second part pursues simulation results for the turbo codes using Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK) over Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channels. These simulations were created in the MATLAB/SIMULINK computer program. It will be shown here, that there exist many different parameters, greatly affecting turbo codes performance. Some of these parameters are: number of decoding iterations used, the input data frame length, generating polynoms and RSC encoders constraint lengths, properly designed interleaving block, decoding algorithm used, etc.

Schopnost tvorby sekundární koruny u vybraných taxonů dřevin
Vilím, Stanislav
This dissertation thesis deals with ability of secondary crown formation after opening a canopy and secondary crown utilization in landscape architecture. The ability of different taxa of trees to form a secondary crown after opening a canopy is genetically conditioned and influenced by the specific terms of habitat, tree age, physiological state of the individual and the specific characteristics of the individual. As a model plant for this dissertation thesis was chosen a representative of the Quercus L. genus which is very frequently used in landscape architecture. Specifically, Quercus cerris L. taxon was chosen which is grown in forest stands of Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape as a monoculture. Field research was conducted in forest stand edges of Forest management unit Židlochovice, namely in forest district Valtice. In this forest district were found suitable sites that meet the condition of chosen evaluation methodology, allowing comparable statistical evaluation. Enough suitable forest stand edges were found that were selected for the experiment. To the topic of secondary crown formation after opening a canopy and practical utilization of secondary crown is paid only little attention in specialized publications and in both basic and applied research. This thesis brings knowledge that can significantly contribute to the development and importance of field Landscape architecture in contemporary society. The thesis brings a lot of new information and relationships that occur during tree crown regeneration when opening a canopy. These findings can be used for example during the regeneration of untended objects of garden art monuments and other objects of landscape architecture. The results may also help in the conversion of forest stands to different objects of landscape architecture both in urban and rural settlements. The results allow modeling the development of woody plant vegetation elements in these objects. It is clear that arbitrary regenerative ability of secondary crown formation and thus the replacement of the primary crown is not sufficient but it is always necessary to respond on this ability of regeneration by various means of tree care measures so that the whole intention reaches the optimal result. The results indicate that primary or secondary woody plant vegetation element opening a canopy is able to regenerate in order to increase its landscaping value or to increase its dendrological potential of the compound vegetation element. Knowledge can also be used for regeneration of trees on the newly created forest stand edges, historical parks or other compound woody plant vegetation elements.

This thesis maps the phenomenon of the on-demand audiovisual media services (hereafter VOD), which in today's world often represents a frequently discussed topic, which moves the world of the audiovisual industry and changes the traditional distribution models. The thesis follows the current situation and the future prospects in this field and seeks to analyse the impact of the VOD services on the traditional audiovisual industry. The first part introduces the context of issues of the VOD and furthermore gradually pays attention to the VOD service providers, impacts of the VOD services on the audiovisual 'ecosystem', new distribution strategies, changes in user habits, the influence the VOD has on the classical movie theatres and finally the role of today's viewer and the newly resulted pitfalls and opportunities. The thesis concentrates primarily on the Czech market, which is to be understood in the context of the entire European Union but at the same time cannot ignore even the strongest VOD player, which have their original forts in the United States. Besides the sources available traditionally, the important source of relevant information have been personal interviews with professionals from the film distribution industry mostly.

Restitution of property of the former noble families after the year 1989
Benda, Josef ; Pavlíček, Václav (advisor) ; Malý, Karel (referee) ; Musil, Jan (referee)
V. ABSTRACT/ ENGLISH SUMMARY The objects of this dissertation thesis are restitutions of property of former noble families in the Czech Republic after the year 1989. It concerns very controversial theme; this statements is even more valid if we speak about disputable restitutions of property. The issue is only rarely viewed from complex and impartial angle; this fact is caused i.a. by great complicacy of the factual and legal substance. Even the availability of historical documents is problematic, too. The public is frequently not aware of or has even no idea on certain key facts of individual cases, as a result of which usually only certain matters are perceived; this subjective perception is strengthened by individuals, who are from various reasons interested in ending the controversies concerning restitution of property of former noble families in favor of these former owners; these individuals use during their activities different instruments, which are described in detail in this dissertation thesis. In their efforts, the media are frequently their important backers, who not from interest, but due to unfamiliarity or ignorance, stress in some cases only the facts in favor of the former owners of property, which ends in deformed view of public on some very disputable cases. This dissertation thesis is...

Mesoamerica within the classical era: the case Teotihuacan
Krajáková, Kristýna ; Korecká, Zuzana (advisor) ; Kašpar, Oldřich (referee)
The goal of this bachelor thesis is to explain basic culture and social configuration of the mesoamerican city Teotihuacan, which had in the first millenium AD great influence on mexican highland and surrounding regions for at least five hundreds years, and which, despite its fiery destruction, has survived and remained unseparable part of Mesoamerican culture area, even if perhaps only like destructed religious site or like a hidden culture inovator and bearer. Teotihuacan was important Mesoamerican urban center that by its size and level of social organization uncommonly exceeded qualities of other city-like sites on American continent. Its estimated population in sixth century AD was probably around 200 000 people, which makes it the sixth largest city on Earth in that time. The name of the city derives from couple centuries older Aztec language nahuatl and means "the place where men become Gods". This and much more non-original designation are based on we have very little historical sources and so it's diffuclt to uncover ethnic identity or spoken language of Teotihuacan residents. Thus the work of contemporary scholars lies mostly on archeological research in the site itself or areas related historically by trade and politics. Most frequently they are dealing with architecture objects, mural...

Fiction, biography and documntary in W.G. Sebald's narrative prose
Richterová, Gabriela ; Tvrdík, Milan (referee) ; Stromšík, Jiří (advisor)
This dissertation is devoted to fiction, biographical and documentary work in the prose of the German author W. G. Sebald. W. G. Sebald was a unique character with a distinguished way of storytelling on the post-war German literary scene with. Most topics thet were paid attention to in his books were related to Germany and its history. Sebald was one of the early Germanists, who wrote in German language and who followed the topic of the civil inhabitans' misery during the air raids of the Allies over Germany in World War II. Another important topic in his books was the Holocaust and he also frequently dealt with the relationship between the Jews and non-Jewish people in Germany. W. G. Sebald's books are difficult to be put in a particular category. His work actually breaks boundaries between categories, between non-fiction and fiction. The Author himself denied the categories in literature. He called his prose "the fictional prose". A unique junction of fiction and facts, biographical and autobiographical elements, the books of travel, architecture and country descriptions together with reflections and fictional essays is typical of this author's books. Also characteristic of his texts is the usage of pictures and photographs, mostly black-and-white, scattered freely in a text.

Interactions of Zn2+ ions with proteins and nucleic acids
DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Kateřina
Interaction of Zn2+ ions with proteins and nucleic acids Zinc is an important metal in biological systems. It is a strong Lewis acid, forms a stable Zn2+ ion and can exist in several coordination geometries. Zinc is required for the activity of more than 300 enzymes. In proteins zinc can either participate directly in chemical catalysis or can be important for maintaining protein structure and stability. In this work a dataset of high quality (resolution better than 3 Ǻ) crystal structures deposited in the Protein Data Bank on internet have been examined to identify typical zinc binding sites and to establish their coordination geometries. Totally 135 zinc binding sites found in 74 structures have been analyzed. The most frequent coordinating atoms are sulphur in cystein, NE2 and ND1 nitrogens in histidine followed by oxygen atoms in carboxylates of aspartic and glutamic acids. 67% of zinc binding sites were found to be four-coordinated with tetrahedral coordination geometry. In contrast Mg2+ cations show a clear preference to bind to oxygen atoms and to form octahedral cavities. We have not found any structure with a direct zinc coordination to DNA except the 1ZQT structure which was however excluded due to its low resolution (> 3 {\AA}). Similarly only three zinc binding sites have been found in RNA structures which were however determined in the protein free environment. All other zinc binding sites have been located in proteins even in the presence of the nucleic acids.
