Diplomová práce mapuje fenomén audiovizuálních mediálních služeb na vyžádání (dále VOD), které v dnešní době představují často diskutované téma, jež hýbe světem audiovizuálního průmyslu a mění tradiční distribuční modely. Práce sleduje současnou situaci a výhledy do budoucna na tomto poli a snaží se analyzovat dopad VOD služeb na tradiční audiovizuální průmysl. První část uvádí do kontextu problematiky VOD služeb a dále se text postupně věnuje poskytovatelům VOD služeb, dopadům VOD služeb na audiovizuální "ekosystém", novým distribučním strategiím, změnám uživatelských návyků, vlivu VOD na klasická kina a v neposlední řadě dnešní roli diváka a nově vzniklým úskalím i příležitostem. Práce se soustředí především na český trh, který je však potřeba vnímat v kontextu celé Evropské unie, a zároveň nemůže opomíjet ani nejsilnější VOD hráče, kteří mají své původní domovy ve Spojených státech amerických. Vedle dostupných pramenů jsou významným zdrojem informací osobní rozhovory s profesionály, převážně z oblasti filmové distribuce. This thesis maps the phenomenon of the on-demand audiovisual media services (hereafter VOD), which in today's world often represents a frequently discussed topic, which moves the world of the audiovisual industry and changes the traditional distribution models. The thesis follows the current situation and the future prospects in this field and seeks to analyse the impact of the VOD services on the traditional audiovisual industry. The first part introduces the context of issues of the VOD and furthermore gradually pays attention to the VOD service providers, impacts of the VOD services on the audiovisual 'ecosystem', new distribution strategies, changes in user habits, the influence the VOD has on the classical movie theatres and finally the role of today's viewer and the newly resulted pitfalls and opportunities. The thesis concentrates primarily on the Czech market, which is to be understood in the context of the entire European Union but at the same time cannot ignore even the strongest VOD player, which have their original forts in the United States. Besides the sources available traditionally, the important source of relevant information have been personal interviews with professionals from the film distribution industry mostly.
