Children's understanding of social stratification regarding occupation

The thesis is focused on research for children's understanding of social stratification on primary school. The main topic are children's representations of the structure of society regarding occupations. The aim is the diagnoses of children's understanding reflecting the structure of society. It tries to reveal if children on primary school percieve invisible network of statuses and roles that result from the structure of our society and carry social rules and agreements. The theoretical part defines socialogical terms, deals with topics concerning the structure of society and describes past and current theories of social stratification. It also presents home and foreign research of children's understanding. Considering a little amount of research on this topic, the thesis draws inspiration from another theses focused on the same topic, yet aimed at children on secondary school. The practical part describes the qualitative research of the thesis. The major issue is How and on which basis a child thinks about the structure of society regarding occupations?. Position of muslim students in Czech elementary school

My thesis is focusing on Muslim pupil position in the Czech elementary school. It is an actual topic of the Czech school system together with foreign pupil education generally. Pupils are educated in the multicultural era and for this reason it is essential to deal with this topic. I am explaining the selection of the topic within the introduction of my thesis. Theoretical part is introducing topic related information, arranged logically to make a meaningful text. Within this part is described who belongs to this group, what they have in common, how they differ, how they have affected Europe and the Czech Republic from the past to the present. In addition, I am describing the outcome of Muslim integration to the society, view on their differences and of course the Czech elementary schools approach to this topic. To find out the situation of Muslim pupil within the education process in the Czech elementary school system is the objective of the empirical part of my thesis. To get the findings on the Muslim pupil in the elementary school, I have used the observation method. The case interpretation is recorded in this part. Not to focus only on the Muslim pupil, I have made structured interviews with other five home teachers in the same school.
Film as an Educational Tool in Czech High School History Classes

Film as an Educational Tool in Czech High School History Classes The master's thesis entitled Film as an Educational Tool in Czech High School History Classes is dedicated to discussing film as a didactical tool and as a source of education in history classes of Czech high schools. This thesis aims to analyze and evaluate the view Czech teachers hold towards using the filmography in their history classes while understanding the different implications of it. Secondly, the aim is to obtain commentary from experts in the field of history didactics. Those findings and results could, therefore, amend teaching program's structures and help teachers to structure their syllabus appropriately. The theoretical part of the thesis presents basic information on Czech education program and implementing History as a subject in the primary curriculum of the Ministry of Education. Then it considers the role of film theory and multimedia, which are both closely linked to the idea of the film as an educating tool in History classes. The following chapters analyze and evaluate solely the usage of the film in education and the different advantages and disadvantages it can bring. The information deficit within family members of people with dementia syndrome

The bachelor thesis investigates problems of insufficiently infrormed family members who look after persons with dementia syndrome. The aim of this thesis is to investigate from which sources family members were gathering information about dementia sydrome. The second aim was to investigate where information is insufficient and which essential information was missing according to family members who were looking after persons with dementia syndrome. The practical part of the bachelor thesis was processed by quantitative research, questionnaires and half structured interviews. Respondents were selected by intentional sample selection or by snowball method. In the overall research, 10 respondents have participated. For better interpretation were acquired data divided into categories. From the research could be concluded that family members in most cases obtain information in senior homes or at psychiatric ordinations. Furthermore in most cases respondents were missing information about seniors nutrition, stimulating activites and compensatory aids. The bachelor findings could be benefical for persons who will look after patients with dementia syndrome and also for persons who provides information about dementia syndrome.
Problems in literacy in reading in the second grade at primary school

The diploma thesis focuses on the topic of reading literacy of pupils at the second period of elementary school. The focus of the thesis is a reflexion of chosen literacy workshops. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part deals with the basic terms connected to the topic such as literacy, reading literacy and it also describes the method of literacy workshop. The theoretical part includes also the international researches dealing with the reading literacy and with the methods used to develop the literacy. The practical part describes the realization and the proces of chosen literacy workshops based on direct observation and on reflexion of their development. The last parti of the thesis offers the real interviews with the teachers.
The use of media in men's prison

The aim of thesis The use of media in men's prison is to uncover the relationship between prisoners and media. Futhermore, by using the qualitative method of semi- structured interviews it was also the aim of this thesis to analyse how the prisoners use the media in the time-space framework of everyday life and if the media help to maintain day-to-day routines. This research could be of academic benefit, because this topic is not only largely neglected in the Czech Republic in general, but also in the prison area, especially when considering how to better resocialise prisoners through the utilisation of the media. Practical research is built upon a relevant theoretical basis: the history of the prison, sociological aspects of the prison, and regulation of the media in prison. In the next chapter, the media audience is described, together with an overview of important views of active access audience to media. The following chapter presents methods used when conducting the research, particularly Grounded Theory. The results of the research and interpretations thereof are presented in the final chapter along with respondents' descriptions, research goals and the course of interviews.
Construction of national identity in Eurovision Song Contest: case study

The diploma thesis Construction of National Identity in Eurovision Song Contest: Case Study analyses the ways and forms of shaping the Czech national identity in the Eurovision Song Contest, the largest and most watched international festival of popular music in the world. In particular, the thesis aims to identify the manifestation of identity and self-presentation of the Czech Republic from the point of view of a media institution, in the national selection, in the form of the entry itself, in postcards and video clips as well as through voting and viewer ratings. These findings were attained by the combination of three research methods, namely semi-structured interviews with media professionals, qualitative content analyses of audio- visual materials and secondary data analysis. The theoretical framework presents basic concepts of identity formation and nationalism, and provides an in-depth presentation of the Eurovision Song Contest from geopolitical and sociocultural perspectives. The thesis outlines the historical development of the competition with regard to the political and cultural ideas it aims to endorse, and explains the development of participation with special focus on eastward expansion.
