Factors affecting prevalence of physical fuctional limitation among European population Abstract Walking difficulties have a major impact on everyday life. No significant differences were found between the genders. It was also found that the most risky factors that influenced quality of life analyzed using self-rated health assessment and the appereance of depressive symptoms were confirmed walking limitations, together with pain and depressive symptoms. The impact of social media on social participation and quality of life of the elderly in the Czech Republic
Přiklopilová, Jana ; Rosenfeldová, Jana (advisor) ; Schneiderová, Soňa (referee)
The Czech population is ageing, and the number of seniors continues to grow year on year. At the same time, the number of working seniors, who currently make up one tenth of the Czech workforce, is increasing. There is also a decline in the number of extended family structures, which more often provide the necessary social network and support, compared to narrower nuclear family types. That is not the only reason why there is an increase in the number of lonely seniors, who are isolated from the world and social relations and who stop participating in social activities. It is estimated that one in three seniors across the globe struggles with loneliness. With the advent of modern information technology, the question arises whether virtual contact can help to address the issue of loneliness and improve the social participation of seniors. The aim of this thesis was to provide a deeper insight into the situation in the Czech Republic, outlining potential benefits and risks as well as possible barriers for this demographic group. This research found that Czech seniors use social media not only to maintain relationships with their family and friends, but also to broaden their horizons in the field of hobbies and take an active interest in current and political events. Social media can thus be a tool...

The research questions are focused on sub-topics, such as what is the subjective perception of quality of life in the context of age or general health, what are the informants' personal experiences with compensatory aids, or what areas of quality of life are most affected by hearing impairment. The elaboration of the topic is based on a qualitative analysis of information obtained from a questionnaire survey and semi-structured personal interviews, which are processed in the form of case studies. Meško, Mikuláš ; Pavelka, Radim (advisor) ; Holá, Veronika (referee)
Title: Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury in Judo Objectives: Based on current scientific knowledge, describe and summarize aspects of knee injuries in judo, specifically the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Get an overview of the causes of this injury, frequency of occurrence and possible impact on quality of life. Methods: Narrative review Results: The anterior cruciate ligament is a very important stabilizer of the knee joint, and its injury causes not only long absences in training but even the complete termination of a sports career. Furthermore, it has been found that motor functions can be restored after an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament, but kinesthesia (the sense of movement and perception of movement by stimulation of receptors in muscles and tendons) can be permanently impaired. The impact of this injury is also an increase in the risk of osteoporosis in the knee joint in younger people. Anterior cruciate ligament injuries affect more women than men, and the most commonly performed techniques in which this injury occurs are osoto-gari and kosoto-gari. Key words: knee, sports injury, judo, ACL, quality of life
