Impact of Diversity Strategic Management on Position of Women in Corporate Environment

The main theme of the thesis is the position of women on the labour market and the related fact that positions with major decision making competences are represented by absolute minimum of women. Intentional support of and managing diversity in corporate environment could be, therefore, one of the effective instruments forming more balanced representation of men and women across the corporate structure and hence on labour market but eventually in society as a whole. In the thesis are discussed benefits and difficulties of strategic diversity management in the corporate environment. The research section deals with the ways diversity management affect the position of concrete women in Česká spořitelna, a.s. This corporation was chosen for the survey in view of the fact that strategic diversity management has been implemented there and it is therefore possible to monitor the real impact of diversity management on the status of women in a particular corporation.
Generation differences in work attitudes and diversity management

This thesis focuses on generation difference between work attitude and diversity management. The aim of this work is to describe generation differences between work attitudes and subsequently implement diversity management as a tool to improve labour productivity in working groups of diverse ages. Demographic changes lead to extension of the average life expectancy and the resulting ageing population. An ageing population has an impact on economics, as well as the social sphere. People will go into retirement later than they used to and multiple generations will encounter each other at one workplace. Diversity management should meet some of generation individual requirements to encourage their work satisfaction that could lead to higher work efficiency. Companies focused on the diversity of their work force will profit from higher competitiveness and achieve the label of socially responsible company. Data from the "Aktér 2008" research were analysed using secondary analysis. This analysis found 5 areas in which generation differences appeared. These differences were: wage value, career growth, security of work, variety of work and personal and work life balance. Concept of Age Management in Organizations in the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis summarises current approaches to age management, or human resources management taking in account the age and skills of employees in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of this paper deals with the background of this concept, describes the present demographical development, its consequences in the labour field, and the problem of aging population which is visible in the need to adapt applied management strategies in organisations to this trend. There are mentioned several programmes, thoughts, and legislative measures on which the newest concepts and strategic plans in Europe and the Czech Republic are based. The empirical part of the thesis focuses on a specific level of organisations, and consists of two surveys. The first one is a comparative case study for which data were collected in two organisations which have recently implemented measures stemming from age management strategies. These measures are then specified and confronted with the statements of the employees who, in semi-structured interviews with the author, talked about the changes that were put into practice under the concept of age management, and about the discrimination of persons over 50 years of age on the labour market. This diploma thesis is focused on the application of diversity management in selected technically oriented company. A theoretical part gives and overview of essential terms regarding given topic and general findings about areas of diversity and gender management and its implementation in corporate sphere. The practical part deals with analysis of internal environment of the company and a perception of diversity and gender balance by employees. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate a concrete application of diversity management in selected company and to prepare proposals of solutions of potential issues detected.
The Use of New Knowledge about Generation Y for Their Inclusion into Business Practice

Dissertation deals with Generation Y and its position in the corporate environment and in the labor market. The selected issue is very topical because of increasing structural and cyclical unemployment among young people. In preparing the dissertation, we departed from theoretical findings acquired by studying Czech and foreign monographs, articles published in journals, other electronic resources and, most importantly, primary research conducted. The main objective of the dissertation to gain new knowledge about Generation Y, which would lead to a more effective inclusion of young people (especially graduates) into practice with the use of new management methods in the adaptation and stabilization of a young employee in the job, with focus on future employees with economic expertise. In order to achieve the main objective, 4 sub-objectives and 4 research questions with relevant hypotheses were set. Based on an analysis of the theoretical basis and secondary data, a schema of adaptation and stabilization of a young employee was created. The primary research conducted then combines quantitative and qualitative approaches for the analysis and description of each part. The research results are presented in the form of partial conclusions characterizing each area as well as in the form of a summarizing conclusion placed in a broader context in a comparison with the determined state of current scientific knowledge. The dissertation includes contributions to science and research, business practice and teaching as well as a proposal of continuation of research activities.

The practices of work-life balance are described in detail. The practical part analyses a current state of selected company using quantitative and qualitative methods of research. The World is becoming global and also the companies. They are expanding their business outside the current location. This trend brings new challenges to the top management and to line managers to be able lead not just people with same culture, but also lead and cooperate with reportees from different cultures. Leaders need to be able to lead teams consisted from people of various gender, religion, age, sexual orientation or color. Managers need to be aware of those specifics in order to use full potential of whole team. The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze those specifics of leading of intercultural IT company based on semi-structured interviews with expats, free associations, analysis of company documents and guided discussion and design methods and recommendations to be able to lead intercultural teams more effectively, mainly in IT field.
Workplace diversity in the company CSOB

This thesis deals with diversity and its level in the company CSOB. The main objective is to describe the current situation, make an analysis, identify strengths and weaknesses and come up with suggestions for the company and government, which would have positive effect on diversity. The methods used in this work include an analysis of internal documents, comparison of theory and practise and personal interview with responsible manager. The thesis is divided into two main parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is based on study of literature, legislation and actual studies and focuses on definitions and theoretical bases. The practical part contains an introduction of CSOB and evaluation of the state support effectiveness. Next part is focused on description of current activities in the company that support diversity and analysis of its current level. The final part contains recommendations for the company and government that should lead to an improvement of the current situation.
