The bachelor thesis is dedicated to political, legal and cultural relations on the lands of the present British Isles in the second half of the thirteenth century and at the beginning of the fourteenth century. A person that is considered crucial for this period and the pivotal "point" of this thesis is King Edward I of England. The first part of this work deals with his life before his accession to the throne. Annexation of Wales is analysed in the second part of thesis as well as the means used by Edward and subsequent administrative division of the country. The third part analyses the situation in the lands of Scotland. The author scrutinizes hereditary succession of the crown and interference of the English King in the Scottish nobility disputes. Moreover, it analyses the beginning and the times during the Scottish war for independence and deconstructs the positions of the leading figures involved. In the last part of the thesis, the author analyses the political and social situation on the British Isles after the death of Edward I of England and the succession of his son, Edward II.

Origins and development of the Parliament of England up to the end of 15th century Abstract This thesis is dedicated to the formation of the English parliament from the enactment of the Magna Carta to the onset of Tudor dynasty reign. It consists of an introduction, conclusion and 13 chapters; chapter 5 has also subchapters. The first chapter describes the origins of parliament's formation and its connection to the Witan and Great Council. The second chapter is dedicated to the period of John's reign, which lead to the rebellion of barons and following that, the enactment of the Magna Carta. Afterwards, it examines provisions of the Magna Carta and its significance for English society and the development of parliament at the time. It also refers to the growing importance of the Magna Carta over the course of following centuries. The third chapter is concerned with the period of Henry's reign when the key importance was the revolt of barons under the leadership of Simon de Montfort. Simon de Montfort in order to secure his position of power summoned a parliament which consisted of, among others, representatives of towns and boroughs as well as knights of shires. Contribution to the History of Tennis as the Olympic Sport

This bachelor thesis gives a coherent overview of tennis history evolution and modern olympic games. With tennis I am trying to focus on a history of tennis as itself, tennis evolution in the world and Czech republic. I mention history of tennis rules and tennis equipment. I introduce the four biggest tournaments known as the Grand Slams - Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, Us Open. Within the chapter history of tennis in Czech republic I chosed few Czech players and tried to describe their life and their biggest tennis accomplishments. In the second chapter of my thesis I look into the history of ancient games, establishing of the International olympic committee as well as the Czech olympic committee. In the end I connect mentioned themes with a view on the olympic tennis history and individual tennis tournaments. The Anglo-Scottish Struggle from the Outset of the Hundred Years' War to the Battle of Neville Cross: The Perspective of English Official Documents

Why the term 'Anglo-Scottish Struggle' between 1337 and 1346? Why 'The Perspective of English Official Documents'? What influence did the so-called 'Hundred Year's War' have on the Anglo-Scottish relations in the first years of the war? What impact did the 'Scottish issue' have on the policy of the English king during the Anglo-French conflict? How did the perspective of English official documents differ from that of English chronicles or Scottish/French primary sources? What role did the rhetoric of these source play? How was it portrayed? The following thesis will try to analyse some of the aforementioned issues and will strive to prove that the Scottish kingdom had a profound impact on the English policy in multiple respects from the outset of the Hundred Years' War until the battle of Neville's Cross almost ten years later.

Legal position of a child with regard to the right of participation This thesis is constructed as a comparison of the legal position of a child in the Czech Republic and England. The aim is to discuss the rights of a child in general with special regard to his or her right of participation and to evaluate how the rights are respected in both states. This thesis mainly underlines the common aspects as well as the main differences in the legislation while suggesting some possible changes. After the introduction, there are four main chapters subsequently divided into subsections. The first chapter explains the terms "child" and "the best interests of a child". The concept of "the best interests of a child" is firstly discussed in accordance with the General Comments published by the Committee on the Rights of the Child followed by the explanation on how the legislation of the compared states understands this term. The second chapter discusses how the rights of a child developed in the last decades whereas the starting point from which we generally speak about children rights is the beginning of the 20th century. The subject of this bachelor thesis is to analyze London residential housing market in the period of time from 1995 to 2016. In the first part of the thesis the emphasis is put on the definition of theories related to the topic. It includes the reasons why house prices are worth measuring. Another point of the theory are the economic fundaments which influence the house prices. The main topic and result of this bachelor thesis is a deep analysis of the development of house prices in London. Based on the analysis, in the conclusion, it is enabled to evaluate the stability of the market. It is particularly the problematics of high house prices and affordabulity, which is solved in this document. These topics have become increasingly popular in London, recently. The work concentrates data from many fields, which affect developments housing markets, in one document. Thanks to it, the work provides comprehensibly processed data from statistical authorities such as HM Land Registry or Office for National Statistics including useful comparisons of important fundamentals.

Analysis of Secondary School Pupils' Knowledge and the Interpretation of Evolutionary Biology by Teachers in the Czech Republic, England and Scotland

An evolution is considered the single greatest unifying theory in biology. Therefore, evolution is a crucial topic from the perspective of didactics of biology because it reaches contemporary paradigm of science education. These doctoral thesis deals with the educative aspects in the field of evolutionary biology. Given the fact that educational content and understanding of causal patterns in science may be influenced by the sociocultural background, the whole research is carried out in comparison with Great Britain. The main aim of the thesis is carried out three successive analyzes. First, the occurrence and the content of definitions of evolutionary terms in Czech and British science or biology textbooks have been compared (16 Czech and 16 British textbooks). Data were evaluated using content analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis. Subsequently, a comparison of teaching evolution has been made using a questionnaire survey (350 Czech and 122 British teachers) and interviews (10 Czech and 7 British teachers). Finally, a comparison of the Czech and British pupils' knowledge and opinions on specific evolutionary topics were obtained via a questionnaire (964 Czech and 97 British pupils). Constitutional development in England - from the outset to the 17th century The purpose of my thesis is to analyse the constitutional development in England from the fifth century to the beginning of the seventeenth century and it attempts to give a comprehensible and thorough summary of this period. The thesis is composed of ten chapters and its subchapters. The first chapter deals with the anglo-saxon period, which started in the fifth century with the arrival of german tribes to England and it is divided into three subchapters. The first subchapter analyzes not only the general historical development, but also some of the earliest laws of anglo- saxon kings. Second subchapter is concerned with the composition of the main authorities of anglo-saxon state, power of its rulers, officers of the king's court and with the role of the Christian Church, which was very important. The last subchapter focuses on the reign of Edward the Confessor and the enclosure of anglo-saxon period. Next chapter is concerned with the Norman period and it is composed of seven subchapters. These subchapters deal with the laws of William the Conqueror and the Domesday Book, feudalism in England, power of the king, chief officers of the state, organization of authorities of the kingdom, of the courts of law and...
