The anticipation and Mulholland Drive by David Lynch

This thesis deals with David Lynch's Mulholland Drive from the viewpoint of anticipatory processes revolving around it and taking place in its perception. The part covering anticipations on behalf of the author stems from interviews with the director, David Bordwell's theory of narration and works of Constance School of reception aesthetics. These two theoretical frameworks provide basis also for the part covering anticipations on behalf of recipients, which treats critics and spectators separately. This part works with published texts on Mulholland Drive and spectators' opinions reflected in internet forums. After a chapter on anticipations from the distribution viewpoint this thesis analyses to a great detail anticipatory processes involved in the course of Mulholland Drive's perception. It understands the film as consisting from two parts, which it treats separately, and describes anticipations on the levels of scenes, motives, and the film as a whole. The thesis also comes up with a model explaining the popularity of Lynch's work across various spectator groups. Anticipatory processes not only run on the film's various levels but also co-influence its impact. Dealing with Mulholland Drive through anticipation provided for a complex analysis and revealed anticipation as its structural element.

Bruselský summit Evropské rady přijal dne 30. 10. 2009 protokol k závěrům předsednictví. Protokol o uplatňování Listiny základních práv v České republice spočívá v tom, že se Česká republika začleňuje do protokolu č. 30 o uplatňování Listiny základních práv Evropské unie v Polsku a ve Spojeném království. Protokol č. 30 je už začleněn do Lisabonské smlouvy v jejím sjednaném znění. Znění protokolu pro Českou republiku bude (po jeho začlenění do smluvního základu v rámci přístupové smlouvy) shodné jako pro ostatní dva státy. Protokol č. 30 má dva články, dá se však rozdělit do 3 částí. Článek 1 odst. 1 se týká Listiny základních práv EU jako celku, článek 1 odst. 2 se v podstatě týká sociálních práv, článek 2 se týká interpretace určitých pojmů použitých v rámci Listiny základních práv EU. Protokol č. 30 Lisabonské smlouvy a tedy i „český“ protokol, až bude začleněn do smluvního základu EU, vytvoří pro Soudní dvůr více explicitních překážek, pokud by snad chtěl rozšířit pravomoci EU i mimo dosud dané hranice a aplikovat Listinu základních práv EU jako obecně a přímo účinné právo EU. Po prozkoumání protokolu je nutno konstatovat, že obyvatelé České republiky přijetím „českého“ protokolu o žádná práva (ve srovnání s ostatními členskými státy EU) nepřichází. Vnitrostátní soudy i Soudní dvůr nebo další orgány budou moci použít všechna ustanovení Listiny základních práv EU pro interpretaci výkonu všech smluvních pravomocí Unie jak v České republice, tak ve shodném rozsahu v ostatních členských státech.

Contribution to the study of debates about the policy of appeasement in the English-written historiography

Historické interpretace dějin britské diplomacie 30. let 20. století je někdy obtížné oddělit od interpretací, které vysvětlují události druhé světové války. Historikové často spojují britskou politiku appeasementu s vypuknutím války a předkládají nám tento zjednodušený přehled událostí: britští politikové dopustili příchod války tím, že umožnili Hitlerovi vyzbrojit Německo, konsolidovat jeho západní hranice a expanzi na východ. Britové nedokázali zabránit Hitlerovi v okupaci Porýní v březnu 1936 a o dva roky později nezasáhli proti německé anexi Rakouska. Šest měsíců po anšlusu britský premiér Chamberlain akceptoval odstoupení Sudet Německu v Mnichově. Poté, co Hitler na jaře 1939 obsadil zbytek Československa, poskytli Britové záruky územní celistvosti Polsku. Když Hitler v září 1939 na Polsko zaútočil, britská vláda se spolu s Francií postavila na jeho obranu a vyhlásila Německu válku. Britské rozhodnutí jít do války a dostát svým závazkům opožděně ale neodvolatelně zvrátilo dřívější usmiřovací politiku, která uznávala Hitlerovy teritoriální požadavky jako pokus dosáhnout s Německem mírového evropského uspořádání. Většina historiků s touto analýzou politiky appeasementu souhlasí, ale liší se v názorech na její příčiny. Proč Britové čekali až do roku 1939, aby se postavili Hitlerovi silou? V zásadě...

Prognóza vzdělanosti a lidský kapitál

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vzděláváním obyvatelstva a jeho vlivem na lidský kapitál. Nejprve je popsána historie a současná situace v českém školství. Nechybí ani pokus o mezinárodní srovnání. V další části se věnuji lidskému kapitálu. Je zde uvedena definice lidského kapitálu, způsoby jeho měření a výnosy, které můžou přinést investice do vzdělání. Lidský kapitál je totiž ve velké míře právě dosaženým vzděláním ovlivněn. V poslední části se pokouším o prognózu vzdělanosti, kterou jsem provedla pomocí metod vícestavové demografie, a posléze pak o interpretaci výsledků.

Possible Pitfalls of Quantitative Metrics

This post presents critical view on practical use of bibliometric methods. There are listed difficulties and limitation which cause lower value of information got by metrics and which increase a risk of misinterpretation. Discussion about possible solution is provided and general recommendation is suggested for accurate use of bibliometry. There is also described issue of research area scheming which is necessary for objective use if citation indicators. But which schema use and how does this influence the results could be quite difficult question. Bibliometric indicators itself include quite wide range of circumstances, which are important to take into consideration (e. g. size dependent and independent indicators, average distortion, minimum threshold of documents). Use of whole or fractional counting could be an interesting question.\n

Identification of factors determining job satisfaktion

The key purpose of this diploma work is to identify factors affecting labour force productivity in the Internal revenue service of Russia for Krasnoyarsk region. The main focuses of this work are to identify concepts of job satisfaction and motivation as well as a summary of the basic theoretical knowledge.
The practical part has relied on the survey of job satisfaction through conducted questionnaire. Results of the survey will demonstrate and analyse the main problem areas within the company. Then, the paper will provide a recommendation of how to increase efficiency and satisfaction of labour force.

Cílem této práce je přispět k diskusi o problémech vztahů imperia a sacerdotia na přelomu 1O. a ll. století a pokusit se na základě zohlednění všech důležitých zdrojů primární i sekundární povahy nalézt adekvátní odpověď na otázku, zda je možné hovořit o existenci systémového budování říšské církve. Tento problém je nahlížen pod úhlem profilujícího a výjimečného postavení panovníka, v němž hrála ústřední roli sakrální praxe saských císařů. Právě zde je totiž do značné míry skryta podstata závěrů a interpretací, skrze něž je nahlíženo celé období soužití světské a duchovní moci. Východiskem bude především období vlády posledních dvou císařů liudolfinské dynastie Oty III. a Jindřicha II., tj. ten úsek dějin, který historická věda vnímá jako dovršení budování královské říšské církve. Ambicí autora je prokázat, že mapované období v sobě zahrnuje prvky zlomu i kontinuity, aniž by nutně musely stát v příkrém protikladu vůči sobě. V tomto ohledu by bylo do jisté míry možné nahlížet otázku po existenci systému říšské církve jako irelevantní a případnou odpověď tak učinit závislou na zvoleném úhlu pohledu. Vedle prvků strukturálních je totiž nutno zohlednit i hlediska osobnostních specifik. WHAT WILL BE HIS/HER NAME? MOTIVATION FOR NAMING OFFSPRING Abstract The thesis deals with given names in general and in particular with motivation of parents to choice of name. The first part summarizes theoretical resources and deals with the history of researching of antroponyms. The first part further concentrates on given names, their origin, their function, variation of repertory and trends in motivation of parents to choice of name. The thesis also includes the chapter about legal regulation of given names. There is mentioned also the previous research on given names written by Miloslava Knappová in 1970's. The practical part of the thesis is based on questionnaire research on motivation of parents to choice of name. The research was carried out in Central - Bohemia Region, Liberec Region and Prague Region from December 2010 to February 2011 and respondents were the parents of children born between years 2005 - 2010. The aim of the research was to ascertain current trends and motivation to choice of name, which reasons are the most frequent and which reasons decrease in historical comparison. Interdisciplinary theoretic work BODY AND EMPATHY IN THE FILM is focused to the relation between physical manifestationsand psychical feelings in the cinematography. The author uses new approaches in the field of cognitive psychology, neurobiology, aesthetics, antropology, philosophy and film theory. Is shows discovery of the mirror neurons which is allowing the connections between scientific intrepretation of the film piece and personal, emotional experience of the recipient. The work emphasizes several principles important for the induction of emotions and meanings in the spectator?s consciousness (e.g. ad dilatatio or ad auxesis methods). And it examines the decisive moments essential for the recipient?s acceptance, believe and evaluation of the film.

Applications of chiral and achiral chromatography in pharmacology and toxicology

Development and validation of methods for analysis of several drugs or their metabolites are decribed in this thesis. The document is presented as a commentary to the original papers, which were published in peer reviewed journals. Discussion on the optimization of each method is presented and covers also method development and influence of preanalytical aspects. Additionally, examples of the application of the developed methods in clinical pharmacology and toxicology are shown. This dissertation consists of three parts: enantiomeric determination of tramadol and its metabolite, determination of some antihypertensive drugs, and qualitative analysis of benzodiazepines. Development of a method for chiral analysis of tramadol and its desmethylated metabolite O- desmethyltramadol (ODT) in human urine and plasma is described in the first part of the thesis. Tramadol is a centrally acting analgetic drug, which is used as racemate in clinical practise. Each enantiomer displays different binding properties for various receptors: (+)-tramadol preferentially inhibits serotonin reuptake while (-)-tramadol mainly inhibits noradrenalin reuptake.
