Socialn and community networks

The aim of thesis is to examine and compare the most important world and Czech internet social networks. For these social networks then secondly to describe the benefits to society and their usability in marketing, but also their seamy sides which represent a danger for users. The objectives of this thesis are the exploration of the internet and book resources and their evaluation. Another source of support for the research results is an Internet questionnaire. This bachelor thesis is divided into four main parts. The first explains the theory of the social and community networks, Web 2.0 and Semantic Web. The second part describes the various social networks and compared their basic services. This is followed by a summary of trends in social networks, the benefits and dangers of social networks. In the last part are presented the results of Internet surveys and reflection on the ideal social network. Benefit of this thesis is to create an overview of most social networks and alert readers to the dangers of these social networks. In reflecting on the ideal social network, describes how this social network might look like, what would allow and how it was solved. Poll among Internet users, shows the view of respondents on the issue and their behaviour in social networks.
Web 2.0 Application

The goal of this document is to describe one of trends of Web 2.0 - web appliacation hybrids or mashup applications. It briefly describes types of mashups and how they work. First chapter introduces reader into term Web 2.0 which led to creation of mashup applications. It also describes basic terms and the term mashup itself. Second part discusses possibilities of profit on mixing differnet web services from differnet points of view. What it can bring to creators of mashup applications and also to API providers. Third part gives an overview of communication protocols usually used to communicate. Described protocols are REST, XML-RPC, SOAP, Javascript APIs and screen scraping. The goal of this section is to give the reader basic knowledge of them for further studying. Next part introduces sample application created for purpose of this work. It is a connection of Czech internet photo-sharing service rajče.net and social network Facebook. Fifth part focuses to introducing some tools for automatic creation of data mashup applications. It picks three products - Openkapow Robots, Yahoo! Pipes and Dapper, and describes their features and how to use them. Last part is a summary of current situation in Czech Republic.
Using social applications in business environment

This thesis is focused on using social applications from practical point of view in a real business environment. In fact, it is focused more on using them than dealing with hypothesis. There are two main objectives covering developing social application add-on and implementation of another type of social application in a company. The first objective is to develop social system, which provides functionality to fulfill team agenda for most of teams created within of scope on University of Economics. The second main objective is to describe important aspects of implementation Wiki system to one of departments in CSOB Company, the Bikipedia Project.
Potential of web 2.0 for commercial communication

The aim of my thesis is to analyse the potential of web 2.0 for commercial communication. Internet became due to web 2.0 services more fun. The number of internet users increases. People spend still longer time online to the prejudice of watching TV, reading papers or listening to the radio. This could be a problem for marketers who have relied on traditional mass media communiaction. In my thesis I try to find possibilities how to solve this problem. The theorethical part of the thesis provides characterization of the terms web 2.0 and commercial communication. Then I describe particular web 2.0 tools and general ways of internet advertising. In the practical part, I examine possibilities and significancy of these tools for commercial communication. Then I describe some successful web 2.0 projects and analyse two realized online advertising campaign. At the end I introduce my own proposal of online communication campaign for McDonald's using one of web 2.0 tools - social networking Facebook.
Actual trends in ECM

The aim of this thesis is to introduce the actual trends in the ECM market and the impact of the continuous evolution of the IS/ICT field on the mentioned area. Throughout this thesis, the main definitions and characteristics of the ECM system components are presented, there is a brief description of the situation at today's ECM products market and then there is a characterization of this year's and futures main ECM trends. There are five trends described in this thesis: the influence of the new technologies of the second generation more social web (Web 2.0) on the products and tools that are part of the ECM systems; the effort to integrate the unstructured data of ECM systems with data from Business Intelligence (BI) systems to ensure better tools to support the strategic resolutions in the enterprise; the use of the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model as a cheaper and more accessible alternative for the distribution of ECM solutions; the growth in preference of commercial open-source ECM solutions as a competitive and financially accessible alternative; and finally, the CMIS (Content Management Interoperability Services) specification as a proposed standard, that includes a set of web services to ensure interoperability and access to content repositories independent of the used system. At the end there is a description of how each trend reflects on concrete solutions in the ECM market.
Analysis of graphic design of information portals and a usage of Web 2.0 graphic elements

We could not get by without information portals and internet magazines in today's information society. Graphic design is an integral part of these web sites and dramatically influences their usability, user's perception of their seriousness even user's behavior itself. That is why I analyzed graphic designs of successful Czech portals through user testing, personal evaluation, compatibility and download-times analysis and popularity. I defined graphic design principles for each type of information portals based on the results of this analysis which will help web designers create high-quality and effective designs. I used these principles during the making of Topreport design which became a successful project on the field of information servers.
New trends in marketing communication

The bachelor thesis "New trends in marketing communication" focuses on the new methods in a communication mix, such as guerilla, buzz, mobile, direct and event marketing, and product placement. The primary goal of the thesis is to define these tools and show the importance of implementing these methods in a globalised world. Samples of implementations of these new tools are shown on both, the Azerbaijanian and world market, in the practical part of the thesis. Also, Azerbaijanian market is shown as a potential market for the foreign investors.
Server www.o2extra.cz and its usage as a connection tool of communication a sponzorship activities of Telefónica O2 Czech Republic, a.s.

The thesis of this work is focused on evaluation of effectivity of server www.o2extra.cz, in a context of todays Internet phenomenon - Web 2.0. Server O2 Extra is a community web, which is used as a place for sponzorship and loyality programme. User can do variety of things - read news about sponzorship projects, take part in a contest or discuss with others and watch photos. The theory part is aimed at introducing Web 2.0 to the reader - given examples of Web 2.0 are: Google, Myspace, Facebook and Last.fm. Their functions and goals are also listed, as it's crucial to understand how community servers work. Space is given also to a part about sponzorship activities, as O2 Extra is mainly used as a headquarters for them. Main part of the work is about O2 Extra itself - its functions and visual look is described and presented, followed by the own effectivity evaluation. For this purposes, Google Analytics was used as a evaluation tool. The conclutions and interpretations are given right after presented statistics, statistics as visits, bounce rate, pageviews etc. Work can be therefore used as a manual for O2 Extra owners, to improve its effectivity and number of users.
Web 2.0

The Bachelor's Thesis is concerned with Web 2.0 phenomenon. It defines meaning of this phenomenon and submits its features and characteristics : change in comunication system, freedom of content editing, content created mostly by its users, reputation systems, conversions of desktop applications to web services. It concentrates on technology background of web services, particularly AJAX, Adobe Flex, Silverlight. It focuses on designs, that were starting point for Web 2.0 and uses them to show principles of the whole concept. Selected designs examples were : community servers MySpace and Facebook, search engine Google with its additional services, video sharing server Youtube, bookmark server del.icio.us, content sharing server digg.com, the free encyclopedia Wikipedia, personalised internet radio and music encyclopedia last.fm. The work continues by describing current situation in the Czech Republic. In the end the paper summarizes and answers the basic questions asked in the introduction and mentions major obstacles of current development together with their possible solutions.
Development of koli.cz web-portal, evaluation of Web 2.0 concept applicability

This thesis is examining the best known internet service -- WWW, it's history and current trends. Following part deals conception of Web 2.0, which is currently subject of intensive discussions it's supporters and opponents. Theoretical knowledge is than applied in analysis of services of new developed web portal koli.cz, which I personally consider the goal of thesis. There are mentioned both of particular sections of web-portal and their interconnection within the whole system. In connection with practical part of thesis are described the most important web portals in world's and Czech Republic's internet market and their biggest source of income, internet advertisement. Own contribution of this thesis is mainly in it's practical part, which is intended to be applied for following analysis and development of koli.cz.
