Creation of new tools and their use for analytical-synthetic method of reading
Chárová, Michaela ; Ronková, Jolana (advisor) ; Wildová, Radka (referee)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to create new tools for analytical-synthetic method of reading. In the theoretical part, I present mainly the analytical-synthetic method of reading, but also other alternative methods of reading that are used in schools today. I also analyze in detail the individual stages of the analytical-synthetic method of reading and possible evaluation or diagnostics of reading. Based on the literature, I present the benefits but also the problems that may occur in teaching analytical-synthetic method. I also present teaching aids that can be used in teaching, which support this method. For comparison with aids to teaching reading by the analytical-synthetic method, I present typical aids used in the practice of reading by the genetic method. In the practical part I describe the procedures of creating teaching aids and state the appropriate use of aids in practice. I verified the functionality and usability of the aids at the primary and kindergarten school in Božičany in the district of Karlovy Vary. I created a didactic commentary for each aid, which serves as a guide to a specific aid. I consider the overview of specific activities usable in practice to be the most practical and usable for other colleagues. Thanks to this part, my diploma thesis can serve other colleagues...
Taxidermal Mounts of the Fish Body
Chlad, Martin ; Řezníček, Jan (advisor) ; Hanel, Lubomír (referee)
The thesis presents methodology of creating whole-fish dermoplastic models. It is primarily intended for teachers of natural history and biology. The results are based on mapping out both modern and traditional methods of fish taxidermy. By empirical verification and introduction of new methods, a comprehensive manual of fish taxidermy was created. It can serve as a useful didactic tool. Methodology also describes the issue of obtaining and preserving fish specimen. Profound knowledge of fish anatomy is a necessary prerequisite for specimen taxidermy, thus methodology also includes anatomical overview and guidelines for fish anatomical dissection. The output of the practical part of the thesis are dermoplastic fish models which became part of the specimen collection at the Department of Biology and Environmental Studies at the Faculty of Pedagogics at Charles University, where they are meant to be used for educational purposes. Methodological part of the thesis evaluates the experience gained during the process of model creation. Certain recommendations regarding suitability of particular fish species for taxidermy, material and tools required, choice of method and its advantages and disadvantages, were made. The thesis discusses several specific technologies, such as producing eyes for the...
Using of Material Didactic Aids in Teaching of Biology on Selected Lower-secondary Schools in Liberec
Beňová, Pavla ; Vojíř, Karel (advisor) ; Pavlasová, Lenka (referee)
The thesis focuses on the use of material didactic resources in teaching science at selected schools in Liberec. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is a literature survey, which characterizes didactic means in general on the basis of scientific literature. The aim of the thesis was to look more thoroughly at didactic aids, which are the main part of material didactic resources. Furthermore, to focus on the function of the resources in the classroom and to present the options and principles that should be followed when selecting them in order to make their use as effective as possible. The second, practical part, presents the results of observations from a total of 29 lessons which were taught as open lessons, in 3 primary schools in Liberec. The analysis of the collected data provided us with information on how much of the lesson the observed teachers devote to the use of material didactic resources. On the basis of the time load, we got an overview of the preferred resources and could evaluate whether they are traditional (workbook, classical blackboard, textbooks) or modern (Internet services, interactive whiteboards).
Process of reading for pupils with dyslexia at the 2nd level of primary school
Sládková, Iveta ; Bartoňová, Miroslava (advisor) ; Hádková, Kateřina (referee)
The reading process is a demanding cognitive process. With it, we achieve various levels of reading literacy. Pupils with dyslexia face not only problems mastering the reading technique, but also comprehension of the text. The main goal of the diploma thesis is to assess and find out how the learning process of pupils with dyslexia at the second stage of primary school takes place with regard to the reading process, which is weakened in these pupils. The partial goal of the diploma thesis is to find out which methods are used by teachers when working with pupils with dyslexia. The diploma thesis is processed as a qualitative research investigation using the technique of observation of a selected group in the educational process (second grade students), analysis of student documentation and interviews with students, their parents and teachers according to a pre-prepared scenario. The diploma thesis deals with the influence of the use of intervention aids on the educational process of pupils with dyslexia at the second stage of primary school and the suitability of individual aids for intervention in specific cases.

Urbanová, Lucie ; Adam, Robert (advisor) ; Šmejkalová, Martina (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of use of contemporary workbooks and guides of Czech orthography, their quality and their position amongst other material didactic aids. It briefly introduces the concept of spelling from a linguistic viewpoint, defines the spelling curriculum in a didactic concept, and introduces the basic types of spelling exercises, as well as their advantages and risks. Empirical research was carried out through five selected publications. These were subjected to a detailed examination and the selected passages were subjected to a response from primary school respondents. This thesis analyses specific selected books, but moreover, it also aims to evaluate the possibilities and limits of commercial publications designed for spelling practice. The choice of the type of exercises included, the assignment's clarity, the content attractiveness of included texts, and the book's graphic processing and more are important factors in determining the quality of the given types of books.
