Development of surface and body musculature of the bird schistosome Trichobilharzia regenti
Bulantová, Jana ; Horák, Petr (advisor) ; Nebesářová, Jana (referee) ; Toledo, Rafael (referee)
Description of Trichobilharzia regenti as a new species of nasal bird schistosome in 1998 was only the first step in our knowledge of this extraordinary parasite. Natural definitive hosts of T. regeni are anseriform birds, but infective larvae - cercariae - are able to penetrate also into mammalian hosts including humans. There they are causative agents of hypersensitive skin immune reaction called cercarial dermatitis or swimmer's itch. Contrary to other schistosomes, miracidia of T. regenti hatch directly inside the definitive host tissue. Schistosomula migrate through the nervous system of vertebrates and, together with adult worms, they have predominantly extravascular localization in definitive hosts. Adult worms have a short lifespan and low degree of sexual dimorphism, connected with lower dependence of adult females on long-term contact with males. During the life cycle, T. regenti can be found within three different environments (freshwater, tissue of intermediate molluscan host and tissue of vertebrate host). Each of the seven developmental stages has a different role in the life cycle which corresponds with different organization of various organ systems. The introductory part of the thesis is focused entirely on ontogenetic changes of surface ultrastructure and body musculature of...
Dental and Oropharyngeal Morphogenesis: Germ-layer Stability, Homology and Evolution.
Soukup, Vladimír ; Černý, Robert (advisor) ; Krylov, Vladimír (referee) ; Matalová, Eva (referee)
The vertebrate oropharyngeal cavity is a complex organ system housing food intake apparatus that is composed of hard- structured elements, the teeth. This apparatus is built upon mutual interactions between the epithelium and the underlying mesenchyme, which, however, take place only after the establishment of boundaries between the ectoderm and endoderm within this epithelium. Although possibly stereotypically positioned within the mandibular arch, our comparative morphogenetic survey identified that boundaries between ectoderm and endoderm are a result of different development in different vertebrate clades due to formative and constraining events taking place at early embryonic period. Dissimilar morphodynamics of ectoderm and endoderm are subsequently mirrored in the epithelial derivation of respective teeth in such a way that, e.g. in the Mexican axolotl, the oral teeth eventually display ectodermal, endodermal and ecto- endodermal derivation. Moreover, the ecto- endodermal boundary could have a tooth- inductive role, ...
Awareness of newborn care among women
Bidšovská, Barbora ; Tomášková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Němcová, Alžběta (referee)
The bachelor thesis "Awareness of Newborn Care among Women " is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part deals with four major topics. The first topic describes the physiological development of the newborn and the adaptation of the different organ systems to the extrauterine environment. The second deals with neonatal hygiene and the importance of vernix in the first days of life. Other topics include newborn sleep and comfort. The practical part focuses on the awareness of women in newborn care, using a quantitative questionnaire survey. The questionnaire was distributed online and the responses, obtained from it, were tabulated into graphs and tables. It is focused on the subjective perception of awareness in newborn care and explores problematic areas. The survey found that the majority of women prepare for newborn care before childbirth, and a positive finding is that women are well-informed about newborn care both from the maternity ward and their paediatrician. However, the most common source of information is the internet. Based on the results, it would be useful to improve breastfeeding education. Assistance with newborn care in the first days after birth should also be provided to women with multiple pregnancies who may not remember everything from previous...
Loss of valuable meadow biotopes in connection with the construction of new buildings
Nikodýmová, Amálie ; Křenová, Zdeňka (advisor) ; Bílá, Karolína (referee)
- AJ The protection of natural habitats is crucial for maintaining biodiversity and providing ecosystem services. Despite efforts to protect within the Natura 2000 network, there is a decline in these valuable communities. The reasons for these changes are varied, with significant factors including habitat loss due to construction. This work focuses on methodological approaches to protecting grassland habitats within Natura 2000 sites and examines their relationship to urbanization using the example of the special area of conservation Šumava. It includes testing a methodology for assessing the impacts of construction on habitats and proposing solutions that could help improve the protection of natural habitats in the context of current and future construction projects. Key words: Natura 2000, biodiversity, meadows, development, the assessment of the impact of the proposal
Web platform for online marketing
Křivánek, Tomáš ; Bartík, Vladimír (referee) ; Burget, Radek (advisor)
The work focuses on the entire process of developing web application to facilitate the connection between creators of user-generated content and online marketing managers of companies. This marketing industry is relatively new in the Czech Republic, and there are currently no platforms that simplify the interaction between these mentioned participants. The development process begins with a careful collection and analysis of the requirements of potential users of this new system. Based on the gathered requirements, the system architecture is then designed using modern technologies. For the system development, a backend in the form of a REST API is chosen, programmed using the Python FastAPI framework. Additionally, the Vue framework will be utilized on the client side. Data storage will involve MySQL and MongoDB databases, along with a cloud storage solution. After the selection of specific technologies, the implementation of the system is described, as well as how the testing of the whole application was carried out.

Development of Managerial Skills in the Company
Procházka, Richard ; Bednářová, Markéta (referee) ; Pfeifer, Marcel Rolf (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the process of management skills development in a company. The thesis is structured in three parts. The first part consists of an overview of the theoretical background necessary for the construction of the thesis. These backgrounds are focused on managerial skills and their development. The second part is devoted to the analysis of a specific enterprise and includes two methods of investigation thus providing an overall view of the issue under study. This section is designed to reveal potential gaps within managerial skills and their development. The final section is focused to formulating suggestions and recommendations to address the identified gaps.
