Reflecting the Needs of the Students with Specific Learning Disabilities in TEFL

The specific learning disabilities with the primary focus on dyslexia as one of the special educational need are characterised in the thesis. The theoretical part provides thorough clarification of the individual disabilities as well as the enumeration and explanation of the re- educational approaches towards the specific learning difficulties aimed at the process of teaching English as a foreign language. The qualitative research conducted on the second stage of the basic school constitutes the empirical part of the thesis. The major aim of tracing the needs of the learners with dyslexia was achieved by combining the results of the analysis of the textbooks and the self-created worksheets, observations from the lessons and the interviews with the participants. The main research question, discussing the degree of appropriateness and suitability of the created material in opposition to the regularly used textbooks, was answered in favour of the designed worksheets. Moreover, the thesis provides well-structured and comprehensive summary of the recommendations to enhance the learning process of the learners with dyslexia. Child with diagnosed syndrome of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in the learning process of basic education

The thesis deals with various approaches of primary school teachers to pupils with Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The theoretical part describes in detail the etiology of ADHD, the problems of ADHD children experienced in the learning process of primary education, as well as individual needs of ADHD students and recommended approaches of teachers to these students. It deals with possibilities of treatments. The empirical part is based on a survey performed among parents of primary school students with ADHD focusing on parents' perceptions of teachers' attitude toward pupils. Teachers' point of view and perceptions were gained through interviews. The results are summared and suggestions for thinking about it have been made in the end of the thesis.
School choice by parents of children and pupils with progressive muscle disease

This thesis explains the concept of progressive muscular disease. Describes the development of the disease, different types and methods of treatment. It also deals with the problems of the educational opportunities of children with limited mobility in the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first chapter deals with the definition of the concept of progressive muscular disease. The second part describes the laws on education and educational facilities for children with disabilities in our country. It also deals with special educational needs and support in the educational process. The third part describes the family as a determinant in the choice of school. Determining what factors and to what extent, affect parents in deciding on the future of education.
Suggestion of Comprehensive Support of University Students with Special Education Needs in the Inclusive Education Environment

The doctoral thesis (PhDr.) "Suggestion of Comprehensive Support of University Students with Special Educational Needs in the Inclusive Education Environment" was about support of Czech university students with special educational needs. This piece of work evaluated the present condition of university support for students with special educational needs in the Czech Republic and revealed the most serious problems of university support as well as possibilities of better support of these students in the environment of inclusive education. In practical part of this thesis, a questionnaire was used to learn about university students' awareness of the system of support at their university and to learn about their attitudes towards support service. Analyses of the questionnaires uncovered differences about university students' awareness of the system of support at their university and their attitudes towards support service between students with and without special educational needs. Synergy of language and visual imagination

This thesis takes the form of qualitative action probe and examines specific aspects of the work of selected pupils with SLD in interdisciplinary linking of art and language education with an emphasis on reaching goals evenly in both areas. The results of the research, which was carried out by observation and semi-structured interviews with pupils and teachers, are analyzed and crystallize into concrete suggestions of streamlining individual aspects of this method for even greater efficiency of separate steps in learning new skills to students with learning disabilities. In the theoretical part I introduce educational methods of synergic development of visual and linguistic imagination. It is primarily CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), which represents an innovative tendencies in integrating English and another non-language subject (in this case Art) and a multisensory approach. Social status of the integrated student with Asperger syndrome in the class

The goal of this diploma thesis is to map the issue of social integration of students with Asperger syndrome into a regular class of elementary school. The theoretical part is based on analysis of publications related to the topic. It deals with the description of the Asperger syndrome diagnosis and its symptoms, the concept of integration, mainly the integration of a student with Asperger syndrome, and the issue of classroom climate and the possibilities of its diagnostics and development. The practical part is based on the theoretical part. In it, the author focuses on the analysis of social status of integrated students with Asperger syndrome. Sociometrical techniques are combined with projective method and both are supplemented with a questionnaire for teachers and qualitative methods, primarily interviews with teachers and observation in class. Education for people with autism spectrum disorder in the Czech Republic

This thesis deals with the education of autistic children. It is divided into ten chapters where further presents the history of autism, autistic spectrum disorders division, the diagnosis of autistic spectrum disorders, then focuses on the triad problem areas, which include communication, social behavior and imagination. Another chapter deals with the education of children with autism. The last chapter consists of methods for educating children with autism. In the practical part presents research that I conducted using a questionnaire. Furthermore, there are some interviews with experts on autism and teaching assistants.
Cooperative education and diversity of pupils

This thesis is focused on issues of inclusive education and diversity of pupils at common basic schools, specifically on the pupils with specific learning disabilities integrated in mainstream schools and using cooperative learning in these classes. The thesis is devided into theoretical part and research part, in the first part there are written up necessary theoretical basis for reasearch part and there are also outlined controversial questions of current school system. Research part is focused on using cooperative learning in classes where children with specific learning disabilities are integrated. Results of research executed at basic schools of Prague and central bohemian region are included.
