Bartůšková, Monika ; Remr, Jiří (advisor) ; Hrešanová, Ema (referee)
The main topic of this diploma thesis is comparison of two different methods of research. The first method is diary and the second method is online community. The subject of research in which these methods are compared with each other is the drinking regime of university students, more precisely the situation in which different drinks are consumed by university students. A total of twenty university students were involved in the research that is of a qualitative nature, with ten students in one research method. For one week, the students recorded not only all the drinks they drank per week, but also the circumstances of consuming these beverages, such as time of consumption, place, reasons for consumption etc. The diploma thesis outlines the differences between these research methods in terms of research results, frequency and quantity of information obtained, preparation and implementation of the methods, analysis of acquired data, as well as the perception of these methods by the respondents themselves. The resulting data analysis presents the benefits and limits of each of the selected methods in the situational research of the drinking regime and also suggests possible implications for further research.

Kubičová, Lucie ; Vacek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Libra, Jiří (referee)
Addictology is a multidisciplinary field of addictive behavior. The theme of my thesis is the effort to find a possible connection between the selection of the given field and the use of addictive substances by the students of addictology or by someone in their immediate vicinity. The final thesis from previous years show that addictology students have a higher prevalence of alcohol consumption than general medicine students and dental students, and that more than half of all students in the Bachelor's cycle study smoking tobacco. The aim of this research study is to determine the extent of addictive behavior among students of addictology and then to compare it with students of other university disciplines. I suppose that the extent of addictive behavior will be higher among students of addictology than students of other university disciplines. The data was obtained through an anonymous electronic questionnaire filled out by 220 students of different schools and subjects. A survey sample of respondents was divided into an experimental group of addictology students and a control group of students of other higher education disciplines. At the statistical level of significance, I have succeeded in verifying the hypothesis that addictology students have a higher degree in their immediate vicinity of a...

Kozderková, Barbora ; Morávková Krejčová, Lenka (advisor) ; Gillernová, Ilona (referee)
This thesis compares certain developmental characteristics and value preferences of emerging adult university students and non-student employed young people at the age between 19-25 years in the Czech republic. According to some authors this life stage seems to be a new developmental period between adolescence and young adulthood. In comparison to the USA there has not been much research done on this topic in the Czech Republic. There are some special characteristics of this phase of life that are described in the theoretical part, and tested on a sample of Czech young people which is showed in the empirical part of this thesis. The differences of how students and non- students experience this time of life are compared. It is assumed that student life style brings different impulses than the life style of employed young people. The aim of this thesis was to test the assumption that university students show the features of emerging adulthood more plentifully than people at the same age who work. According to the results of this study the assumption was confirmed. Another focus of this thesis is the topic of value orientation among this sample of young people. Value orientation is influenced by life style and is formed especially during adolescence and young adulthood. Certain types of value...

Knotová, Rudolfína ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Hejzlarová, Eva (referee)
This master thesis "Undergraduates establishing their families in the context of the family policy in the Czech Republic" offers a new view upon a dilemma of college-educated women within the Czech society in establishing their families - it is focused on the parenthood strategy during the university studies. The thesis provides analysis of both positive and negative aspects of the parenthood decision and it investigates what sort of support is given to the undergraduate mothers in the Czech Republic. Measures that could be introduced to the framework of family policy in order to create suitable conditions for the undergraduates establishing their families during the studies are proposed. Subjective views of seven respondents, describing their life as an undergraduate mothers, are included in the analytical part to help approach the undergraduate parenthood strategy development. The key underlaying basis for this thesis is the assumption that undergraduate parenthood could be a suitable life strategy for a number of women undergraduates, should the government support improve.
Motherhood among undergraduate women
Pecková, Vendula ; Vohlídalová, Marta (advisor) ; Maříková, Hana (referee)
Thesis "Motherhood during university studies" deals with the the topic of motherhood among undergraduate women, whose attitude towards having children whilst studying differs from that of their schoolmates. The author asks questions about how these women interpret the fact that they have children during their university studies and how they harmonize their studies with childcare. She did a qualitative research among undergraduate women who had a baby during their studies. In the theoretical part, the author deals with current trends in demographic behaviour, with structural and institutional conditions connected with parenthood and cultural trends of parenthood in Czech Republic. Because of the research, the author concludes that within undergraduate women there is a group of students that plan to have a baby during their studies because they are against the majority age norms of having babies at the age of thirty. They can harmonize studies with childcare because of the support of their families. If these women are motivated to finish their studies, they can develop many strategies to accomplish it.
