A stand of the students of the Third Age University at Charles University on their oldness

The thesis is focused on the attitudes of students of the University of the Third Age to their own old age. The definition of the theoretical context in the first part focuses on the issues of aging and old age in connection with identifying the quality of life of seniors. This section is also focused on the topic Universities of the Third Age, their historical context in the current form. In the research part the results of the survey have been presented. To achieve the research objective, a quantitative research strategy, a method of questioning, was used. Specifically, a standardized questionnaire of attitudes to age and aging (AAQ) was used, which was developed by the World Health Organization. The main aim of this thesis was to determine the attitudes of students of the University of the Third Age at the Charles University to their own old age and then to compare these attitudes with a group of inactive seniors. Another subject of the research was also the influence of the social-demographic indicators on the attitudes of seniors to age and motivation of the undergraduates to study at the University of the Third Age. The social exclusion of displaced persons measurement possibilities

The thesis is engaged in possibilities of displaced persons social exclusion measurement. The first chapter contains definitions of terms used in the thesis. The following chapter comprises abriged and modified translation of methodology manual of Indicators of poverty and social exclusion, so-called Laeken indicators. In the third chapter there is described role of the Czech Statistical Office from the perspective of Law on State Statistic Service and in relation with homelessness. The next chapter describes history of homelessness, its typology and several aspects of different social science disciplines. The last chapter describes selected social transfers provided in the Czech Republic and designed tool for measurement of social exclusion.
The Czechoslovak school system in Great Britain (1940-1945)

Summary: The work deals with the educational system of the Czechoslovak Government-in-exile during the Second World War. The need for Czechoslovak youth education was in this time connected with political education and also with the publicity of Czechoslovak exile among British Allies. Therefore the work classifies the provided education and it also deals with future plans for the students. Educational department of Ministry of Interior had the leading role in the education, and therefore its history and organization is also defined. Czechoslovak education took place in a foreign country, so a cooperation was required. The influence of British authorities on Czechoslovak schools, that followed Czech laws valid before autumn 1938, is described. The cooperation between both states in the post-war situation is also studied, as well as the impact of the exile education on its students after their return to the homeland.
Fertility and education: the case of Ghana

The study attempts to find the relationship between education and fertility in Ghana, as Ghana wants to reduce its fertility rates from 4.0 to 3.0 replacement levels which will help to move the country into middle income status. A country that has a stable population growth is able to plan and allocate resources to its populace more effectively. High fertility rates have consequences for food security, social & economic opportunities and overall economic wellbeing of the population. The study sets outs to investigate the linkages or factors that help in reducing fertility rates, education is one major factor that has been found be to be inversely related to fertility. Does this relationship exist in Ghana? Has education in any way contributed to the recent fertility declines in Ghana? And by how much did education contribute. Finally, are there other factors that have contributed to the recent fertility decline in Ghana? To answer the questions, the study takes advantage of an educational reform program in 1987/88 that saw mass construction of schools, training of teachers and provision of study materials to estimate the impact of education on fertility. Šprechtíme campaign in years 2011-2012

This thesis deals with a description and analysis of communication activities, which took place during the Šprechtíme campaign in years 2011 - 2012. Campaign has been carried out by the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany together with the Embassy of Austria and other partners. The purpose of the campaign is to support the teaching of German language in the Czech Republic. The main advantage of knowledge of the language, according to Embassies, is a possibility to easily get a job, because the German and Austrian companies in the Czech Republic created nearly 125,000 jobs. Furthermore, it is easier to communicate on vacation in the Alps. Mapping communication activities is accompanied by partial evaluations, further evaluation of the campaign as a whole. The last part is devoted to the recommendation of the author, which activities should be changed or strengthened.
Evaluation of non-formal education in Junák - Association of Scouts and Guides of the Czech republic and processing innovative ideas for the preparation of instructors

This Bachelor thesis evaluates the current state of informal education in the organization Junák - Association of Scouts and Guides of the Czech republic. It focuses specifically on the highest possible qualification - the instructor qualification. The thesis consists of theoretical and empiric part. The theoretical part provides historical context of Czech scouting, scouting principles and mission; it also describes the education system with special focus on the instructor qualification. The empiric part contains a survey conducted among the participants of instructor courses and instructors. The survey was aimed at the understanding and perception of the role of instructor and education of instructors from both points of view. The Greenhouse Fata Morgana in Prague Botanical Garden as an educational Place

The thesis deals with utilization of the greenhouse Fata Morgana, which belongs to the Prague Botanical Garden, for botanical educational excursions. In the first part excursion is introduced as a part of education. The next topic shows the history of Botanical Garden as an educational centre. The last chapter refers to present expositions of the Botanical Garden. The main aim of this thesis is to prove that tropical greenhouse is a suitable place for holding school excursions supported by professional guides. The thesis includes an interview with the chief guide Mgr. Eva Novozamska, on the basis of which thorough information about educational excursions and professional guiding system was achieved. The core of the thesis is about a recommendation to include botanical excursions, supported by general educational programmes issued by the Ministry of education, youth and sport, in the education system. Offer of the Leisure Time Activities for Secondary School Youth in Selected Region

Cílem práce je shrnutí současných poznatků o volném čase a výchově ve volném čase, přehled nabídky volnočasových aktivit a zájem žáků o výchovu ve volném čase. V teoretické části jsem se zabýval shrnutím současných poznatků o volném čase, volnočasových aktivitách a poté v praktické části průzkumem nabídky volnočasových aktivit a charakteristikou školských a mimo školských zařízení. V praktické části výzkumu jsem chtěl dosáhnout co nejobjektivnějšího výsledku, a proto jsem zvolil k doplnění teoretického přístupu také praktický výzkum. Díky němu se mi podařilo získat důležité aktuální informace o dnešní středoškolské mládeži ve zvoleném regionu a o tom, jak tráví svůj volný čas. Jako výzkumný nástroj jsem použil dotazníkovou metodu, jelikož jsem chtěl získat co nejobjektivnější výsledky, oslovil jsem studenty a studentky z učebních i studijních oborů.
