Modification of silicon surfaces for selective adsorption
Doležal, Jiří ; Ošťádal, Ivan (advisor) ; Matvija, Peter (referee)
This thesis is focused on adsorption of phthalocyanines on tin and indium passivated silicon Si(111) surfaces with the √3 × √3 reconstruction at room temperature. Scanning tunneling microscopy was used for obtaining atomically resolved surface images. Molecules on these surfaces predominantly adsorb on Si-substitutional defects. Local density of states (LDOS) of strongly adsorbed molecules was obtained by scanning tunneling spectroscopy. The origin of fuzzy imaging of molecules sitting on Si-substitutional double defects was probed. Voltage dependence of mean lifetime of two observed states, between which the "fuzzy" molecule is switching, was measured by analysis of tunneling current fluctuations. We discussed the influence of external parameters on the switching between the two states. We attribute the fuzzy behaviour of the molecule and resulting tunneling current fluctuations to the motion of the molecule in a double-well potential and propose two most likely kinds of the motion which most closely agree with the obtained data.
The prevalence of anal HPV infection in women with high grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and its relation to sexual behavior
Sehnal, Borek ; Sláma, Jiří (advisor) ; Bouda, Jiří (referee) ; Prausová, Jana (referee)
Background: More than 90 % of anal cancers are caused by high-risk human papillomavirus (HR HPV) infection and a history of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and cervical cancer is established as possible risk factor. The aim of this study was to demonstrate relationship between anal and cervical HPV infection in women with different grades of CIN and microinvasive cervical cancer and to determinate potential risk factors for concurrent cervical-anal HPV infection. Methods: A total of 272 women were enrolled in the study. The study group included 172 women who underwent conization for high-grade CIN or microinvasive cervical cancer. The control group consisted of 100 women with non-neoplastic gynecologic diseases or biopsy- confirmed CIN 1. All participants completed a questionnaire detailing their medical history and sexual risk factors and were subjected to anal and cervical HPV genotyping using Lynear array test (Roche). Results: Cervical, anal, and concurrent cervical-anal HPV infections were detected in 82.6 %, 48.3 % and 42.4 % of women in the study group, and in 28.0 %, 26.0 % and 8.0 % of women in the control group, respectively. The prevalence of the HR HPV genotypes was higher in the study group and significantly increased with the severity of cervical lesion. Concurrent infections...
Ethical values in the works of Ladislav Fuks
Čápová, Markéta ; Blažková, Miloslava (advisor) ; Hauser, Michael (referee)
anglicky This thesis on topic Ethical values in works of Ladislav Fuks is divided into two parts. First part reveals important life milestones, which affects his philosophical mindedness reflected in his work, as well as his view of the literature and its values for a human. Second part of this thesis is focused on ethical values, which in Fuks works (Pan Theodor Munstdock, Spalovač mrtvol and Myši Natálie Mooshabrové) are the most occurred. The goal isn't only to show how the ethical values like life and death, truth and lie, good and evil, existence and absurdity affects character's lives in novels, but also their relativity. Key words: Ladislav Fuks, ethical values, life, death, truth, lie, good, evil, existence, absurdity.
Symbols in the Gospel of John
Košata, Václav ; Scarano, Angelo (advisor) ; Brož, Jaroslav (referee)
The gospel of John contains measureless amount of symbolical expressions which help better understanding of better author's message to the readers and also set higher exegetical demands for deeper penetration into meanings of the symbols and relations between them. Symbolism in the gospel of John can be revealed in its expressions, characters, actions and the cross itself. The bachelor thesis analyses particular symbols, classify them into the thematic groups and explains their meanings. This goal is not possible achieve without consideration of their not only theological but also literary and socio-historical aspect. Majority of symbols like a light, darkness or bread can evoke many different meanings to the reader. This fact leads to the extreme situation like imagination of any possible meaning of the symbols. The thesis is searching for true meaning using secondary literature. Symbols are presented like a human medium for expressions of divine facts for easier grabbing for human. Keywords Symbol, Jesus, gospel, light, darkness, meaning, character, act

1 Abstract The subject of this thesis was creating of teaching material for an interactive whiteboard using the SMART Notebook program. The material was created in form of interactive presentations designed to be used in chemistry lessons at secondary schools. The unifying theme of presentations was the 14th group of the periodic table of elements. The thesis also includes a description of the way the presentations were made and instructions for teachers how to work with them. It also introduces some advantages and disadvantages of working with the SMART Notebook software. Key words: Interactive whiteboard, SMART Notebook, group 14 of the periodic table of elements, presentations, carbon, silicon, tin, lead, germanium
Čin magazine in years 1929-1939
Bokotejová, Helena ; Sekera, Martin (advisor) ; Cebe, Jan (referee)
The master's thesis Čin magazine in 1929 - 1939 deals with the cultural-political magazine Čin, which was issued in Prague in between the world wars. This left-wing and democratically orientated weekly, later a fortnightly, magazine focused on current cultural and public issues within former Czechoslovakia. The thesis aims to provide a thorough profile of what was an important and distinctive periodical in its time. Firstly, the thesis deals with outlining the notion of the magazine within the mass media, further on it describes the characteristics of the media landscape in the period of the first and second republic, where the printed media and their related area of problems are dealt with in detail. A subchapter on the cultural and political standing of Czechoslovakia in the 20s and 30s of the 20th century is also included, the focus is also on the position of the Čin magazine in the array of magazines of that time. The ensuing parts of the thesis already deal with the periodical itself, firstly in the period from 1929 to 1936, when the magazine was under the leadership of Marie Majerová, and secondly in the period of leadership of Bohumil Přikryl, that is from 1937 to 1939. These separate chapters inform about the publisher of the Čin magazine, the eponymous press and publishing cooperative of...
Adsorption and mobility of Al adatoms on Si(100) surface
Majer, Karel ; Ošťádal, Ivan (advisor) ; Mysliveček, Josef (referee)
The subject of the thesis is growth of aluminium structures one-dimensional chains on Si(100) surface. Growth characteristics of Al on Si(100) at room temperature and at higher temperature and various coverages were measured using STM. The results are discussed with respect to previous experiments and a way to find the value of activation energy of surface migration is proposed. An important part of the thesis is preparation and tests of a new low-temperature UHV apparatus for STM experiments. Functions of the apparatus are described. A way to prepare clean Si(100) surface as well as the methods of achieving atomic-scale resolution in STM were found in conditions previously unknown. A test of evaporators for Al and Sn is described. Al deposition has not been successful in the new apparatus yet. Sn deposition has been successful and low-temperature structures of tin on Si(100) were observed. They differ from room-temperature structures and contain kinks which were previously observed only in Al structures.
Deeds
Kopčil, Tomáš ; Palla, Marian (referee) ; Ruller, Tomáš (advisor)
For the deed I consider an event in the outside world which will depend on human behavior, which may have one or more signs of artistic acts or does not show signs of any artistic act. This event is then act as defined in the relevant Act. Artistic achievement in relation to the act represents a certain structure. The nature of the offense and an act of the artist and the result of this conduct caused, which is relevant to the history of visual culture. Negotiation is a manifestation of the will of the artist in the outside world, consisting of an act or omission, failure to act.
Study of the migration of selected metals from beverages packaging
Šťávová, Elena ; Vespalcová, Milena (referee) ; Diviš, Pavel (advisor)
This master’s thesis follows on bachelor’s thesis and deals with study of migration of aluminium and tin from metal containers. Manufactory of metal containers, corrosion of cans, chemical behaviour of aluminium and tin in food, its effects on health and possibilities of the determination in food and characterization of inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) are described in theoretical part. In experimental part 30 different beverages in cans and glass and 6 tomato purees purchased at common stores were analysed. Measured concentrations of aluminium in beverages from cans and from glass containers were compared. It was found that beverages from cans didn’t contain higher concentrations of aluminium than beverages from glass containers. This could be caused by the fact that the aluminium is very stable metal, it has high corrosive endurance and therefore is very suitable for food packaging. Measured concentrations of tin in tomato purees were compared with the maximum permissible level of tin in canned food determined by European legislation. None of them exceed the 200 mg/kg level. All of the measured concentrations were very low, because all of the cans contained protective layer of lacquer, which gives protection against corrosion and also effectively protects from releasing of tin into the can content.
