The specifics of the education of pupils with a different mother tongue at the second level of primary school

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to define the possibilities of education and support for pupils with a different mother tongue (DMT). The theoretical part of the thesis was prepared using available Czech and foreign professional literature. The first chapter includes the background of inclusive education, the definition of the legislative framework of support for pupils with DMT in education and placing the issue of pupils with DMT in the context of the Czech education system. The second chapter describes the specifics of pupils with DMT and the possibilities of supporting them in education. The empirical part of the thesis focuses on the specifics of education of pupils with DMT at the second level of primary school. In order to achieve the stated goal, qualitative research was conducted in a selected smaller primary school in Central Bohemia. As the research methods are used semi-structured interviews with a pupil with DMT, with his class teacher and with a teaching assistant of a pupil with DMT, as well as a questionnaire survey among second-grade teachers at the same primary school. Based on the data obtained from the research investigation, general recommendations for the education of pupils with DMT were suggested at the end of the paper.
Counseling activities of special educational needs teacher in mainstream elementary schools for pupils with mild intellectual disability

The diploma thesis focuses on the methods and forms of support and counselling provided by a school special educator in a mainstream primary school to a pupil with mild mental disability. The aim of the thesis is to map and present the methods that are chosen when working with the chosen pupil and the reasons for their use. The theoretical part defines the concepts of intellectual disability, especially mild intellectual disability, the profession of the school special educational needs teacher and the methods that are generally used in the education of pupils with mild intellectual disability in mainstream primary schools. The empirical part presents the research investigation itself. First, the main objectives, methods and results of the analysis of the investigation are described, and the respondents who participated in the research investigation are also presented. This is a qualitative research investigation, which was carried out using a semi-structured interview method, which maps the methods of support and guidance provided, but also the professional career of school special educators and, last but not least, their perspective on inclusive education. The diploma thesis, which is presented here, is called Obstacles in the Education of Ukrainian Pupils in the 1st level in the Czech Elementary Schools. This work has a special pedagogical character as students with a different mother tongue fall into the category of students with special educational needs. The thesis generally aims to analyze and define the current possibilities of education of Ukrainian refugee pupils as pupils with a different mother tongue in the 1st grade of primary school from the point of view of pedagogues of the given two regions - Prague region and the Moravian-Silesian region, including the Ukrainian pupil and his/her legal representative. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the legislative framework of migration and the possibilities of education for pupils with a different mother tongue, including Ukrainian pupils. Possibilities of supporting children with special educational needs during the activities of the school club

The goal of the work was to prove whether there are possibilities of supporting children with special educational needs which are defined in the school law sufficiently reflected and used in school group. The author analyzes the lack of support for children with special educational needs in school clubs and points to a lack of information sharing between relevant subjects. The work emphasizes the need to optimize the information transmission system for more effective support of pupils with special educational needs in school clubs.
Supporting the development of communication skills of primary school pupils with developmental dysphasia

This thesis focuses on supporting the development of communication skills in pupils with developmental dysphasia at primary school level 1. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the definition of developmental dysphasia, its symptoms, diagnosis and possibilities of intervention. The aim of the research was to observe the individual progress of three boys with dysphasia in the areas of coherently spoken text, involvement in collective activities, emotional expression, fine and gross motor skills, concentration, memory and the ability to discriminate auditory and visual stimuli. The research was conducted using qualitative case studies, document analysis, teacher interviews and observations of pupils in real school settings. The results suggest that individual work and a differentiated approach to teaching can positively influence the development of communication skills in pupils with dysphasia. The knowledge gained is relevant for teachers and experts in the field of special education when working with pupils with communication disorders and when creating an inclusive environment in schools. Support of gifted pupils in a primary school - a case study

This diploma thesis deals with the possible ways in which the education of gifted pupils can be organized. In the theoretical part, the concept of giftedness is defined from the point of view of official school documents. The next chapter is devoted to the characteristic manifestations of gifted students, on the basis of which it is possible to identify them. The key part is the chapter presenting an overview of possible adjustments to the teaching process, which can be used to adjust the teaching of gifted students. This part is followed by a chapter proposing systemic measures for the support of gifted pupils that operate in the Czech Republic. A case study of the 1st grade of a private primary school is processed, which captures the process of finding optimal ways to support gifted students, the result of which is an action plan for changes in the monitored area. Methods of analysis of school documents, semi- structured interviews with teachers and school management, evaluation and reflection were used for processing. Primary school pupils with special educational needs at an outdoor school

This work aims to find out how schools in the context of the presence of pupils with support needs prepare for organizing an outdoor school in the 1st grade of primary school and then formulate practice recommendations. The goal was achieved based on a research investigation, within the framework of which two probes were implemented. Probe I includes structured interviews with educational counselors at five selected primary schools. It investigated whether a subsequent written inquiry could take place at the selected schools. Probe II includes an online questionnaire survey aimed at teachers and teaching assistants. Based on this, it was found that in the area of teaching, free time, ensuring self-service activities of pupils, strengthening the pupil collective, and communication with parents, teachers prepare for school in nature differently than for regular teaching. They are helped by the activity, independence, and creativity of teaching assistants if they are willing to help. In the area of preparation for teaching, in the context of cooperation with teaching assistants, it is recommended to set goals beforehand, with which all its participants will become familiar. ?The integration of a student with ASD and its impact of the school class as a social group? is topic of my dissertation. The dissertation focuses on the inclusion of student with ASD in regular primary school (inclusion), legislation dealing with this topic and related terms such as a support measures, teaching assistant etc. Last but not least, I also focused on Asperger?s syndrome, its causes and symptoms. The main goal of the dissertation is to find out what are the impacts of integration a student with ASD on the class as a social group and what advantages and disadvantages follow from the integration.
Support for the adaptation of pupils with ASD in school classroom

The diploma thesis deals with supporting the adaptation of pupils with autism spectrum disorder in the school classroom. The aim of the thesis is to describe how the support of adaptation in the school environment and the inclusion of pupils with ASD in the school classroom. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the complex definition of autism spectrum disorders with manifestations and specifics that appear in pupils with ASD. Then it describes the possibilities of inclusive education with recommended approaches to these pupils and counselling services including support measures used in education. The theoretical part also describes the possibilities of supporting the adaptation and inclusion of pupils with ASD in the school classroom. The practical part of the thesis is focused on the issue of adaptation of pupils with ASD through qualitative research. The aim of the research investigation is to find out how teaching staff support the adaptation of pupils with ASD to the school environment and its inclusion in the school classroom. In addition, what specifics in the adaptation of pupils with ASD are perceived and taken into account by pedagogical staff. Last but not least, the difficulties and risks encountered in the adaptation and education of pupils with ASD are identified. The research is carried out by means of semi-structured interviews and observations. The thesis presents validated and recommended strategies and methods of work for pupils with ASD in adapting to the school environment and for their easier integration in the classroom collective. Among the most important are: visiting the school before starting school, peer-to-peer information transfer, structured learning, motivation and targeted work with the class collective. The cooperation of class teachers and teaching assistants is indispensable here. The special education centres have a major role in this issue, which are present in the entire process of adaptation and education of pupils with ASD.
