Home care as a benefit for the patient
ŠVECOVÁ, Karolína
The bachelor thesis examines the benefits of home care for patients. The thesis has two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part covers the issue of home care, its definition and the quality of home care. The practical part of the thesis includes the analysis and evaluation of the results obtained through the research investigation. Three objectives were set in the bachelor thesis, to find out what benefits home care brings to patients, to find out what are the possibilities for improving the quality of home care and to map the benefits in providing nursing care in the patient's home environment. Subsequently, the research section was divided into 3 categories, the first two categories focused on home care nurses and the third on home care patients. A semi-structured interview format was used for data collection. Nine questions were used for nurses and 13 questions were used for patients. Overall, it can be concluded that home care has significant advantages and benefits for patients, but there are areas where improvements need to be made. Providing better conditions for home care, including improving staff qualifications, funding and equipment, and addressing issues related to the patient environment and collaboration with physicians, is essential to maximizing the benefits of home care. At the same time, it is necessary to raise patients' awareness of their rights and options so that they can make full use of the services available. These results can be useful not only for health professionals but also for the general public, and can contribute to a better understanding and increased awareness of home care issues.
