The search for the grave of Abbess-Princess Mlada

The sister of Prince Boleslav II Princess Mlada is among the persons associated with the beginning of the Prague bishopric. As the founder of the monastery of St. George was worshiped in it. The place of her burial was forgotten and searched for since the Baroque period. In this context, attention is paid to the graves JK-102 and JK-110 in the chapel of St. Anne in the monastery and also to the relics taken from this chapel in the 17th century. Grave JK-110 was newly dated to around the year 1000.
Interpolation with restrictions -- role of the boundary conditions and individual restrictions

The contribution deals with the remeshing procedure between two computational finite element meshes. The remeshing represented by the interpolation of an approximate solution onto a new mesh is needed in many applications like e.g. in aeroacoustics, here we are particularly interested in the numerical flow simulation of a gradual channel collapse connected with a~severe deterioration of the computational mesh quality. Since the classical Lagrangian projection from one mesh to another is a dissipative method not respecting conservation laws, a conservative interpolation method introducing constraints is described. The constraints have form of Lagrange multipliers enforcing conservation of desired flow quantities, like e.g. total fluid mass, flow kinetic energy or flow potential energy. Then the interpolation problem turns into an error minimization problem, such that the resulting quantities of proposed interpolation satisfy these physical properties while staying as close as possible to the results of Lagrangian interpolation in the L2 norm. The proposed interpolation scheme does not impose any restrictions on mesh generation process and it has a relatively low computational cost. The implementation details are discussed and test cases are shown.
Development of autonomous experimental system to analyse yield surfaces distortion due to multiaxial ratcheting

Multiaxial ratcheting is a failure mode of structures characterized by the accumulation of plastic strain due to cyclic loading. Despite several models having been developed to predict multiaxial ratcheting, they often fail when validated with experimental data collected under a wide array of loading conditions. In this study, an experimental setup was developed and an autonomous testing procedure was used to experimentally analyze the evolution of the yield surface shape due to cyclic biaxial loading. Thin-walled tubular test specimens were made of 304L steel with a diameter of 40mm and underwent axial-torsional testing using the Instron 8852 system. The total axial strain was increased from 0 to 1% while the total shear strain underwent 5 cycles with the strain amplitude of 0.5% and the mean strain of 0.5%. Three yield surfaces were measured after the straining sequence was completed. Results showed strong directional distortional hardening and good agreement between the flow vectors and the normals to the yield surface, lending support to the associative flow rule.
Deep learning methods for the acoustic emission methods to evaluate an onset of plastic straining

Development of phenomenological plasticity models, hardening rules, and plasticity theories relies on experimental data of plastic straining. The experimental data are usually measured as the stress–strain response of the material being loaded and do not provide any clues or information about the local response of\nmaterial. In this paper, we analyze the plastic deformation of the material using the acoustic emission method and current state-of-the-art neural network models such as the InceptionTime architecture.
Thermal and creep analysis of VVER-1000 reactor pressure vessel at high temperatures caused by fuel melting during severe accident

Thermal and creep analysis of the VVER-1000 reactor pressure vessel (RPV) was performed at high temperatures caused by fuel melting during severe accident. First, the integral code ASTEC was applied simulating severe accident evolution since an initiating event up to a hypothetical radioactive release into the environment. The ASTEC outputs including the remaining RPV wall thickness, the heat flux achieved and the temperature profile in the ablated vessel wall served as boundary conditions for the consequent assessment of RPV integrity carried out with the aid of finite element method (FEM). The FEM analysis was performed including the creep behaviour of RPV material using a complex creep probabilistic exponential model with damage. The objective of the analysis was to computationally assess emergency condition and, on this basis, to propose a general methodology for evaluating the integrity of RPV at high temperatures due to fuel melting during severe accident.
Identification of microbial pigments in evaporites using Raman spectroscopy: implications for astrobiology

Raman spectroscopy is a powerful tool for identification both inorganic and organic compounds including microbial biomolecules. Together with the fact, that it is considered to be the important nondestructive instrument for use on Mars within future robotic missions, it is necessary to assess its capabilities in scenarios relevant for both Martian and terrestrial conditions. In this work, the potential of Raman spectrometry was tested - including both bench-top laboratory systems as well as portable counterparts - to detect traces of life within evaporitic matrices through biomolecular identification. Due to their chemical and physical nature resulting in optical properties, pigments are important organic compounds in Raman spectroscopic analysis using visible excitation. Hence in this work we have focused on the Raman spectroscopic identification of pigments as biomarkers with relevance for investigation of life in both extreme terrestrial and potentially extraterrestrial environments. Results of methodical work are presented in Appendices I to III, dealing particularly with β-carotene as a model carotenoid pigment. Technological challenges in the fabrication of MoS.sub.2./sub./diamond heterostructures

Nowadays, 2D materials are one of the most studied classes of materials. In addition to the most famous graphene, progress has been achieved in studying and using fundamental properties of transition metal dichalcogenides (TMD). Complementary, diamond as a representative of 3D materials has gained a reputation as an extremely versatile material due to its extraordinary combination of physical/chemical/electrical/optical properties. Besides these particular forms of 2D and 3D materials, their heterostructures have become very attractive due to new phenomena and functions (bandgap engineering, enhanced charge transport, optical interaction, etc.). However, individual technological procedures are still minimally investigated and described. Here, we will demonstrate a proof-of-concept for the preparation of MoS2/diamond heterostructures, where two different strategies were employed: a) growth of MoS2 layers on diamond films, and b) growth of diamond films on Si/MoS2 substrates.
Analytical Derivatization for Identification of Electrochemical Oxidation Products of Fentanyls

Analytical derivatization and GC-MS analysis were employed for the identification of main\nproducts from the electrochemical oxidation of fentanyl derivatives. Chemical derivatization\nprovides proof of the chemical reactivity of functional groups in oxidation products and serves\nfor the chemical conversion of target compounds into the second series of derivatives to confirm\nthe identification of particular products. Using the direct GC-MS analysis of oxidation products,\nderivatization of aldehydes with cysteamine and derivatization of amides by acidic hydrolysis\nand subsequent reaction with ethylchloroformiate, phenylacetaldehyde, and Nphenylpropanamide\nwere unambigously identified as oxidation products from fentanyl,\nthiophen-2-ylacetaldehyde, and N-phenylpropanamide from sufentanil, and\nphenylacetaldehyde and 2-furanilid from furanylfentanyl.
Possibilities of Response to Contagious Diseases in EU law: critical assessment and recommendations in the light of the COVID-19 pandemics

The present report, the principal output of the TAČR project No TL04000052, critically analyses the possibilities for an EU response to contagious diseases, as they stem from existing EU law and, also, from the new legislative drafts, in particular those related to the European Health Union project. On the grounds of this analysis, further steps are recommended that would be appropriate in the light of the experience of the Covid-19 pandemic, in particular in the area of the division of competences between the EU and the Member States, in the area of early warning and response, in the area of building strategic autonomy, in the area of movement of people at the EU's internal and external borders and in the area of movement of goods.

This research report TN01000024/08-V012 is an output of the subtask of the project TN1000024/08 Automation and production system optimization, one of the objectives of which is to develop methods of post-processing of topological optimization (TO) results in cooperation with MECAS ESI Ltd. Three different smoothing approaches are discussed: the Taubin method, volume representation using radial basis functions and smoothing by remeshing using the Netgen library.
