Democratic deficit of the EU: options of evolvement
Tomášová, Tereza ; Šlosarčík, Ivo (advisor) ; Weiss, Tomáš (referee)
Diploma thesis " Democratic deficit of the EU: options of evolvement" deals with democracy and democratic legitimacy of the European Union. It represents a particular concept of the EU's democratic deficit, which is ambiguous term, but generally indicates a lack of democracy- particularly the lack of popular participation in the governance or a lack of democratic legitimacy of EU institutions and decision-making. The aim of my work was, according to the hypotheses to determine what is causing the EU's democratic deficit, whether it is a serious problem that should be addressed at European level, and if so, what are the possibilities for minimizing or further evolvement. To explore this issue further, I examine the theory of democratic legitimacy in the introduction and divide it into the "input and output" legitimacy. Subsequently, I also introduced methodology and the current debate on democratic deficit in the leading periodicals, dealing with the EU and think tanks. The second part deals with the history of the democratic deficit and its various definitions, follows with a presentation of my two hypotheses dealing with the question whether or not the EU's democratic deficit is a problem. In the third part, my two hypotheses are tested on the project of the Single European Sky, which aims to...

The experimental group consisted of 10 subjects, control group consisted of 9 subjects. results: Our results show a significant influence especially on an increase in FVC, decreased respiratory rate at submaximal intensities of exercise and increased breathing rate at maximum load and also an increase in tidal volume at all load levels. Minute ventilation at maximum load increased by an average of 15.17 liters. The control group did not show any improvement. conclusion: It appears that training with trainer Coach2 might be effective in influencing certain ventilatory parameters at rest as well as during the exercise.

Dissertation is divided into two major parts -- the former is dedicated to theoretic approches to financial analysis, the latter to application of previously gained knowledge in a company. The introduction of work is dedicated to the purpose, usage and approaches to financial analysis with respect to various users of the analysis output. Moreover the document in a very detailed way deals with sources of data for financial analysis processing including weak points and their reflection in ability of calculated indicators of the financial analysis (FA) to give evidence. The most attention is of cource paid to individual steps in thorough financial analysis -- ie. vertical and horizontal analysis of statements and calculations of proportionate indicators including indicator examples from separate spheres of the analysis. Systems of indicators -- parallel but mainly pyramidal, concretely Du-pont's model is used. Dissertation thereinafter is devoted to another indicators that are useful for appreciation of the financial company health, concretely Altman's model, Kralicek's quicktest, Index IN and economic value added (EVA indicator). Comparision with branch of activity that is the company work in is a part of dissertation too. In the second part of the work, a specific company is being analysed -- in successive steps meant in the previous part. After statement analysis and calculations of proportionate indicators, I evaluate to what degree the company is successful. Simultaneously the results can indicate that outputs from the well elaborated financial analysis are of a very useful source of information for company management.

Bobková, Klára ; Končelík, Jakub (advisor) ; Groman, Martin (referee)
Jan Masaryk's death has not yet been clearly explained and has been a white spot in the Czech and Czechoslovak history. This thesis, based on the data content analysis of local media (daily papers) attempts to make clear the media context of Jan Masaryk's death. The first step of this analysis is the theoretical part of the thesis, which focuses on historical background of the problem, on key political affairs in connection with development of daily press. SPSS programme was used for the content analysis , introduction to historical periods was elaborated with help of literature dealing with contemporary Czech and Czechoslovak history. Regarding the output of analysis, the core ofthe hypothesis is being confirmed, i.e.: the perception of Jan Masaryk's death has differed in regard to the the social and political change. Nevertheless, the anticipated debate and increase of interest concerning Masaryk's death did not follow the pattern ofchanges in the Czechoslovak society in 1968/69. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Bělošický, Alexandr ; Klazar, Stanislav (advisor) ; Hartlová, Alena (referee)
This thesis focuses on the analysis of non-traditional approach to reforming the pay-as-you-go pension system by introducing a link between the number of children and the amount of pension, which is known as the Children PAYG. An analysis of the concept in general and of specific proposals for reform with its application is performed in the analytical part. Attention is also given to related topics. One of them is to assess the impact of the pension system on fertility. Further issue is to examine the costs of raising a child that are shared by parents and society as a whole. One of the main outputs of this thesis is a summary of positive and negative features of the Children PAYG concept. The concept is considered applicable in domestic conditions based on this analysis. Finally there are two recommended approaches to the Czech pension reform, the first one is based on the concept of Children PAYG with limiting the role of family policy, the second one is based on maintaining current pay-as-you-go system in a limited form of so-called flat-rate pension with strengthening the role of family policy in financing the costs of raising children.
