Uhrinová, Mária ; Skarnitzl, Radek (advisor) ; Popelíková, Jiřina (referee)
The occurrence of word-initial glottalization in Slovak English Mária Uhrinová Praha, 2012 Abstract The features of prosodic structure were shown to influence the occurrence of word-initial glottalization in English. The aim of the present thesis is to analyze the occurrence of glottalization in word-initial vowels in Slovak English in relation to prosodic structure, specifically to word stress and position in the intonational phrase. The semantic status of words (lexical vs. grammatical) is also considered. The first part provides a brief overview of key concepts in second language acquisition with focus on acquisition of second language phonology. In addition, a summary of previous research on glottalization is given. The empirical part of this thesis is based on the recordings of 15 Slovak speakers of English. The results suggest that Slovak speakers use glottalization extensively in their production of English. This should be taken into consideration when looking for better methods for teaching English pronunciation. Keywords: glottalization, prosodic structure, Slovak, English, foreign accent

Ankylosing Spondylitis and its Treatment Options in Terms of Physiotherapy
Dobrovolská, Zuzana ; Šlapáková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Tesařová, Martina (referee)
My bachelor thesis is focused on the disease called Bekhterev's disease, also known as ankylosing spondylitis. In the introduction to this thesis, I focused on my motivation and objective of this work, why I decided to write about this topic. I also mentioned the origin of this disease, its history and it's mechanism of occurence . In the practical part, I focused on the anatomical description of the human body, especially the back muscles, spine and root joints. There are even a detailed examination and diagnosis of the disease. I wanted to point out how the disease is incurable, how it occurs and whether the problems that entails can at least be partially be alleviated. I wanted to especially point out the methods of physical therapy which can be used to reduce progression of bekhterev's disease, teach affected people to live with this disease and be able to fit into the activities of daily life and ultimately find a job that is suitable for patients. I also wanted to compare two completely different stages of the disease: the patients with the fifth degree of disability with permanent movement restriction, and patients who have first degree of disability, which causes far more problems and of course, their individual approach to the disability and mental condition, both of which are very different. I...

Jewish eschatological thought from the Bible to Maimonides
Bernátová, Jana ; Hošek, Pavel (advisor) ; Bargár, Pavol (referee)
The Bachelor ́s thesis "Jewish eschatological thought from the Bible to Maimonides" is concerned with the formation, development and changes of eschatological teaching in the given period. By means of critical analysis it explores the key texts. It observes the main diction of text development in the Bible through the centuries and important revisions. In the postbiblical texts it is focused on the expansion and working out of thought which was originally biblical. Here it also takes account of figures, which contributed to the extension of the eschatological thought. In the section "Talmud" it looks at the tract of Pirkej Avot and notes the development and changes of eschatology in other relevant tracts. The final chapters are devoted to Maimonides, who summarized and influenced these thoughts in a fundamental way. The work hints at the importance of concepts like resurrection, (im)mortality, eternity and Mesiah... for Jews. At the same time it also demonstrates their changes under the influence of history, foreign thoughts and sages. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

The possibilities arising from discussion as educational technique and its influence on the development of a pupil's personality
Šlehoferová, Klára ; Krykorková, Hana (advisor) ; Janebová, Eva (referee)
Abstact: The overall objective of this thesis is to draw attention to discussion as a teaching technique. Discussion can be used to develop pupils' abilities, which are necessary for social life. The question: "How do teachers understand this technique and then apply it?", is closely linked to this problem. It is worth mentioning that discussion has very bad connotations in the Czech society. It is mainly due to its representation in media, where discussion is usually shown as a fight of arguments with an arrogant attitude, unethical and self-centred word-tiffs. The only goal is to state one's case very fast and to silence the rival. Where else can a different concept of discussion be seen? Where can we encounter discussion that resembles a dialogue? In my oppinion it is at school. I believe that if discussion is used in the right way at school it can help the society. I consider this as a very current issue and its solution very useful. This thesis is based on an assumption that teachers work with this educational technique in an intuitive way and they do not often take advantage of possibilities offered by the discussion that could develop pupils' personal abilities. The main objective of this thesis is to offer a more extensive theoretical background. It means to define the concept of a discussion with...

Theatre as a pedagogical concept
Tóthová Fišerová, Irma ; Vyskočil, Ivan (advisor) ; Slavíková, Eva (referee)
In my thesis I strive to unfold single stages of my studies at theatrical faculty of Academy of Fine Arts. My aim is not comparing single procedures, attitudes, methods (theatrical, pedagogical a. o.), or favouring any of them, but I am looking for, namely, an open-minded way of possibilities, so to say. I am concerning on studies, which enabled me to get to know the work, that is a goal of learning, I am concerning also on those, who guide, teache, motivate. On working both with a group and in a group, and, last but not least, on working on my personal progress. I am trying to examine new possibilities, challenges, trends. I am trying to ask myself new qustions. I am seeking potentials of my own author´s attitude.

Lagronová feat. Nebeský
Jahn, Jakub ; Pšenička, Martin (referee) ; Christov, Petr (advisor)
The presented MA thesis examines the relationship of the staging of Jan Nebeský with its source, the drama Terezka from Lenka Lagronová. It is dividend into two sections; in the mst part we are dealing with the sources of the drama, mostly with the biographical notes of Saint Therese of Lisieux. Nowadays, these are published under the title The Story oj a Sou/. Subsequently we throughoutly analyze the drama. The analysis implies that the drama is conceived to mediate The Little Way, the teaching of Saint Theresa from Lisieux, to the reader. In the second section we analyze the staging Terezka, directed by Jan Nebeský, which had opening night in Divadlo Komedie on March 3, 1997. We mostly try to refer to the distinct directorial-dramaturgic arrangements, which essentially altered the semantic character of drama. In the conclusion we summanze the semantic drift cause by the "translation of drama into the theatricallanguage".

Writing of Prechool Age Children
Holá, Andrea ; Viktorová, Ida (advisor) ; Kučera, Miloš (referee)
In my thesis I focused on writing for preschool children and its development in the context of the theory of Argentinian psychologists E. Ferreiro and his colleagues, which has its roots in Piaget's genetic epistemology. E. Ferreiro monitored and then developmentally organized the preconceptual ideas that preschool children have about writing and printing rules. 1 was interested in seeing whether Czech children implement a similar scheme when dealing with written tasks, and in comparing the eventual differences. The theoretical part is complemented by empirical research. The investigation was conducted in a kindergarten, where children received individual written assignments that they needed to try to solve. Writing was accompanied by a subsequent question and review session over the finished product with the children. The children's works were analyzed and assigned to the relevant developmental stages depending on the nature of the tasks. Results of my research should help educators, in particular First grade teachers who can take into account these Findings and use them in teaching processes.
