Using fairy tales during free time activities in after school club

This Bachelor's work deals with the utilization of the literary genre of fairytales, in free time activities in the after school club. In the theoretical cast, the basic concepts are stated: fairy tale, children's literature, reader literacy, characteristics of the young school age, free time activities in the after school club. In the practical part, there is a description of a project tested in practise in a section of the after school club. The aim of this work was not only to awaken the interest of the pupil in reading, but even to show, that fairy tales develop the personality of children, imagination and can help us during solving educational problems.
Readership of pupils taught by the genetic method

112 ABSTRACT This thesis explores the influence of so called "genetic method of initial reading learning" for further readership of children in the third class of elementary school. The aim of this thesis is to compare children's results in individual monitored elements at both children taught earlier by so called "analytic-synthetic method" and those taught by the "genetic method" monitoring the impact of both methods on these results. The data obtained has been linked with the effects brought by individual teachers. Subsequently, proposals for each of the monitored classes were presented to optimize the reading skills development. The theoretical part contains the topics that are closely related to children's reading skills development. The practice part is based on the research leading to the fulfillment of the thesis objectives. A questionnaire for children and teachers was used as the main source of data. The conclusion summarizes the thesis learnings and points out its results showing positive impacts of "genetic method" combined with specific activities used by the teacher. In the conclusion, I refer also to the steps for further reading skills development proposed for each of the classes monitored, which can become an inspiration for all teachers who care about the children's reading.
The role of books in the life of Josef Thomayer

The goal of the bachelor's thesis is to find and characterize the personal library and estate of the doctor and writer, Josef Thomayer and by the findings to draw his relationship to books and work with paper. At the beginning the thesis acquaints concisely with Josef Thomayer's life, his literary work and readers. The third chapter writes down the searching for his personal library of this scientist and artist in diverse institutions and it characterizes its content. The next chapter deals with Josef Thomayer as a reader and outlines his relationship to books and libraries in young and adult age. The fifth chapter deals with Thomayer's work with the paper, writing and office supplies, style of hand writing and graphical adjustment in the books. The last chapter presents important friends of professor Thomayer and their mutual gifts in the form of books. The thesis is completed by the list of pictures and photos with significant items of books and correspondence of Josef Thomayer.

Social network sites (and new media in general) transform the relationship between professional media organizations and their audiences. My bachelor thesis "Use of social networks in improving communication with the readership on example of IHNED.cz" focuses on how the media use pages or accounts on social network websites Facebook and Twitter in order to communicate with their readership in real time. In the first, theoretical, part, I define the notion of social networks and describe the history and functioning of the most widespread social network sites, with particular emphasis on Facebook and Twitter. The basis of the thesis also touches on the description of the possibilities and mechanisms of usage of social network sites in terms of the news media. In the research segment of the thesis I examine the activity of the Czech news server IHNED.cz on social network sites Facebook and Twitter by means of quantitative analysis. The intention is to detect what content is offered to fans (followers) of IHNED.cz, whether it evokes a response in them and to what extent IHNED.cz is communicating with its readers through social network sites. A purpose of the Bachelor Thesis Comparison of book reviews in Právo and MF Dnes in 2002, 2006 and 2010 and their impact on readership is to describe and compare literary reviews in two different journals; thereafter to try to identify their influence on the marketability of books. It summarizes the available evidence on the issue of reviews and literary critique in the theoretical part and it also mentions the reading culture and reading surveys. It compares the reviews published in the selected press in the practical part. The content analysis describes this issue first and as second the comparison with the books' titles sales rank, as it is published on Union of Czech booksellers and publishers website. On the base of this comparison, this thesis tries to define the influence of the review in daily newspapers to books sale, and if the readers are influenced by either the positive, or negative review.
Travel tourism magazines on the czech media market-a comparative analysis of the C.O.T.Business and National geographic

Travel periodicals are one of the means, how can readers - potential tourists to learn about a specific destination, or be motivated to visit presented country. This diploma thesis describes the development and transformation of the tourism magazines that are published in the Czech Republic after 1989. The attention is focused on the title COT business (for professionals) and National Geographic (for the public). Although targeted at different audiences, both periodicals bring news and coverage from destinations, interviews with travelers, practical travel advices and thus contribute for the increase or decline of demand for various places. Selected magazines gradually gained a strong position on the Czech media market and can be thus described as prototypes in their segment. Especially in recent years in comparison with the competition selected periodicals have declined in sold costs, advertising revenues and readership. Printed media circulation sales trend analysis

This Bachelor's thesis addresses the situation and trends on the Czech printed media market. The theoretical section of the thesis deals with the most important historical milestones and describes the situation on the Czech market since its independence. A detailed sales analysis of selected printed periodicals on the basis of verified data was carried out in the practical section. The end part of the practical section is devoted to research around potential transition opportunities for periodicals from a traditional printed to a digital form. The thesis points out to facts and demonstrates the ways by which it could be possible to prevent further revenue decreases in this market.The final part of the thesis concludes with a summary of the analyzed data, on the basis of which it attempts to predict the likely future development which the market can expect.

Marketing Camaign of Specific Product

The main topic of this bachelor thesis is children's and youth's readership considered as a specific product which the text shows from the marketing point of view. Analysing the situation of book industry in the Czech Republic concerning both supply and demand the problem of readership is identified and the importance of reading for development of human skills is described. This leads to the need to apply marketing tools on promotion of readership. The campaign Growing with the Book is an example of support of reading books. The thesis analyses its contemporary activities and recognizes some insufficiencies. Furthermore it tries to propose some recommendations for the content of campaign as well as for its promotional part using the convenient combination of marketing mix with emphasis on communication mix.
