Strategies of teaching gifted children at primary school

This master thesis aims to describe the strategies, methods and forms of work, which are effective in teaching gifted pupils at primary school. Another aim is to compare the possibility of their applications in integrated and segregated forms of gifted education. The theoretical part summarizes findings about this issue and the aim is to specify the issue of gifted children in relation to the intelligence, creativity and heredity. Based on the analysis of Czech, but mostly foreign literature, this work definine the strategies and methods of teaching gifted students, which are nowadays used in the classroom. The practical part is focus on a qualitative research method aimed at comparing the work of teachers of gifted students in integrated and segregated forms of teaching. Based on the analysis of teaching and subsequent in-depth interviews with teachers, this thesis is trying to figure out how the teacher in a particular form of teaching is working with talented pupil, which teaching strategies he or she is selecting and how these strategies correspond with the literature search in the theoretical part. In terms of research, it is possible to observe the individual approach of teachers who were surveyed on the issue of gifted.
Gifted student, and its integration into the classroom collective

The main goal of this thesis is to familiarize the reader with the inclusion of the gifted child into the classroom collective. The theoretical part focuses on the identification of gifted children, their behavior among peers and role in groups. Furthermore, the roles of the teacher, his education and ways of working with gifted. The practical part is engaged in the exploration, how teacher work in teams with gifted children, at 1st grade of elementary school.
Gifted children at the elementary alternative schools

Key words: gift, talent, individual access, alternative schools, inovate schools. This graduation these is focused on question of suitability to situate the gifted children into the alternative schools. In the theoretical part will be defined the concept gifted child and will be analysed the principles of chosen alternative schools. In the end of the theoretical part of theses will be evaluated how the alternative schools can be usefull for gifted children. In the experimental part will be confronted theoretical informations with reality. I try aswer the question if and which way is realized the care of these children in reality of the chosen types of the alternative schools. The research for this graduation theses will use an analyse of documents, an observation and a dialog. The elementary basis of theses is supposition that the schools of the alternative types like the schools with the edge for a respect to a child and its individual needs are potencional suitable for the extra gifted children.
Differentiation in school curriculum at primary school

The thesis is focused on differentiation in school curriculum at primary schools. Its aim is to describe the conditions and schemes of differentiation in school curriculum at selected primary schools in Prague and to confirm if and how they are fullfilled in the classes. It is focused mainly on care for the groups of children to whom differentiation is highly recommended. These are children with specific educational needs and talented children. The practical part of the thesis presents results of qualitative research in casuistries of selected Prague primary schools, their school curriculum and practical use of the differentiation of education in their classes. The casuistries contain descriptions of functional and tested models of individualization and differentiation at these schools. Of organizational structures (as they are described in theory) combinations of these are used most often: intrinsic differentiation (in common classes) - individually or in groups (sometimes with pedagogical assistant) and group extrinsic differentiation, that is formed as special care for children either with specific educational needs or talented children. Gifted child in a pre-school age

This Master degree dissertation focuses on issue of gifted pre-school children. The text is dividend into two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, a complex general introduction into the gifted children field is presented; characteristics of such children, possibilities of their identification, and the following support and development of their talent is discussed. As for the goal of the second part, it is to find out an approach of the kindergarten teachers to gifted children. The work presents a case study of the attitude and behavior of a particular gifted child.
Diagnostics of emotional disorders and behavior preschool child

This bachalor´s work deals with emotional symptoms of problematic behaviour of the preschool children. The characteristic of preschool children as well as possible problematic behaviour and its impacts are explained in the theoretical part. It deals with hyperkinetic disorders, such as ADHD problematic, opposition and aggressive behaviour and different learning disorders which can be closely related to them. This work also describes the symptoms of a talented child. The symptoms of selected childs are mentioned in the practical part of this work. The long-term qualitative research should confirm or prove false the given research questions and should propose the possibilities of an appropriate solution by the means of particular activities.
Educating Gifted Children and Specific Features of Teaching Foreign Languages to Gifted Children

This thesis concentrates on contexts and view-points, that should determinate the character of activities designed for gifted children in foreign languages classes. This work proposes some methods and ways that are convenient for gifted learners. It deals also with the characteristics of the teacher, who is able to conduct the gifted and the characteristics of the gifted in order to devise such activities that satisfy their special cognitive, emotional and social needs.
Gifted children and relationship to them

The thesis is focused on talents and methods to deal with them. The basic terms (gifts, their types, talent etc.) are explained at the beginning of the work, followed by methods of detection and recognition of individual talent, types of talent and specific groups of talented individuals. Furthermore, there are mentioned approaches in educating gifted children and ways to choose appropriate method for specific individuals. In the practical part of this thesis, these approaches and methods are judged on the basis of realistic usage and use in practice. The basis for this judgement is the evaluations of the teachers and the parents. The information acquired by research work is compared with conclusions of the theoretic part.
