Analysis of liquid electrolyte electrical parameters using impedance spectroscopy
Brabenec, Josef ; Pikula, Stanislav (referee) ; Havránek, Zdeněk (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with impedance spectroscopy of electrochemical systems, especially liquid electrolytes. The method of impedance spectroscopy is widely used to describe electrochemical cells, batteries and electrolytes for diagnostic purposes over a wide range of frequencies. This thesis presents the main types of impedance imaging in the complex and frequency domain, as well as basic information on the measurement methods used and the methods for impedance analysis. The main part of the thesis was the development of software for automated impedance measurements and estimation of equivalent circuit parameters using basic and specialized circuit elements. A workplace with fabricated electrodes for liquid electrolyte measurements was prepared for the application. The functionality of the application was verified by real measurements of different concentrations of water and salt solutions. The validity of the estimated equivalent circuit parameters was verified on measured simple circuits connected from basic circuit elements and was also verified using the commercially used ZView software.
Methods for measuring service quality in university libraries: a case study of libraries AMU and JAMU
Bártová, Tereza ; Landová, Hana (advisor) ; Drobíková, Barbora (referee)
This thesis examines the issue of measuring the quality of services from a theoretical and practical perspectives. It's trying to define the term quality in the context of library services, particular performance indicators used in practice and try to provide an overview of the possibilities of its measurement in the Czech environment as well as abroad. It describes methods Balanced ScoreCard, Benchmarking, Total Quality Management, ServQUAL and SWOT analysis, which originally came from the commercial sector and Benchmarking of libraries, Bibliotheksindex and LibQUAL +, which were created directly for a field of librarianship. It also maps the various activities in this field at national and international level. The practical part of the thesis consists of a survey in two selected libraries performed on the basis of three selected methods of quality measurement: Benchmarking of libraries, Bibliotheksindex and SWOT analysis. In conclusion of the thesis is based on the information gathered from own experience and practice created a general framework for service quality, the possibility of increasing quality and it's measurement in academic libraries.
Methods of the new experimental procedures in the field of physical acoustics of wind instruments
Hruška, Viktor ; Otčenášek, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Obdržálek, Jan (referee)
This thesis deals with the problematic of methods of measurement of the acoustical behavior in the field of brass wind instruments. The principles of videokymography are shown and a new kymography-based method of high-speed measuring of lips opening area is derived and described. Various other methods are discussed. The essential physics of brasses is explained. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Portable device for impedance measurement
Kopic, Jan ; Hruboš, Zdeněk (referee) ; Šotner, Roman (advisor)
This thesis targets on design of portable device for impedance measurement. Theoretical knowledge related to the construction of a portable impedance analyzer is summarized in a separate chapter. This section also compares some commercially available impedance analyzers. In addition, this thesis contains a description of the principle of operation of the impedance analyzer, which is divided into individual function blocks and supplemented by control circuits. A large part of the work focuses on the design of the analog measurement circuit, where suitable measuring methods are also presented. The functionality of the analog blocks of the device was verified by circuit simulation in the PSpice program and by experimental tests. Selection of some components is mentioned in the relevant chapters, where the essential parameters from datasheets are listed. The output of the work deals with a designed prototype of the device, which was tested. Based on the findings some modifications of the device were proposed for practical usability. The attachment of the thesis contains final version of designed printed circuit board.
Introduction of measurement methodology using 3D scanning technology into mechanical production
Klein, Adam ; Jankových, Róbert (referee) ; Šrámek, Jan (advisor)
This thesis focuses on comparison of the commonly used method of tactile measurement with 3D scanning methods for their introduction into engineering production. The first part summarizes the current state with the description of measurement technologies with emphasis on 3D technologies and their versatile use. The second part presents a practical comparison of three types of measuring devices on a selected component of a bicycle. After numerical and graphical evaluation of the measurement results, these values are further statistically processed and the measurement uncertainties are calculated. The final part of the work evaluates the whole process and presents practical suggestions, options and recommendations.
Noise Generated by Turbochargers of Internal Combustion Engines
Kříž, Radim ; Novotný, Pavel (referee) ; Doman, Jozef (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on generated noise by turbochargers of internal combus-tion engines. First, construction of turbochargers is described. The next part deals with the term sound and after that the issue of the noise in turbochargers follows. Consequent there are characterized experimental and simulation methods for determining the noise. The last part is focused on design modifications of turbocharger’s parts. The goal of this thesis is make research about origin of the noise by turbocharger during working conditions and design modifications which affect the noise.
Hominin evolutionary development to the Plio-Pleistocene boundary in relation to body height
Garciová, Rosana ; Sládek, Vladimír (advisor) ; Hoffmannová, Eva (referee)
Body height is the main characteristic of human. It can be variable to the relation to the environment. Development of the height is primarily determined genetically, but an environment has a partly influence. An evolutionary view is very important, especially in the identification of fossils at the Plio-Pleistocene boundary and the overal view on individual development to 2.5 million years ago and characteristics of our ancestor. This bachelor thesis summarized the methods how to estimate the most accurate body height of fossil Homo and compares individuals between them. It also focuses on the geographic area of genus Homo not only on the period and if there is a correlation with increase or decrease in the height of an individual. The main finding of this work is diversity within species Homo. Homo habilis had reached the height of range 120-155 cm. In contrast, Homo ergaster measured up to about 170 cm. While Australopithecines were lower growth. Australopithecus were tall on average around 114 cm and Paranthropus exceeded them at range 10 cm. Slight differences in body height can be seen in the context of sexual dimorphism. The climate in Plio-Pleistocene had no influence on the change in height. Rather, the geographic area of occurrence of our ancestor played a role here. Key words:...
