Meaning of fashion as a way of expressing woman's individual self

English Abstract This Master Degree thesis takes up the topic of fashion and deals with the debate concerning fashion as a mean of expressing womens individual self. The main aim of this thesis is to analyse the meanings which women in todays society attach to fashion and their individual lived experience with this phenomenon. This text is based on theoretical assumptions of Gilles Lipovetsky as his conceptual understanding of fashion emphasises free agency of human beings and therefore stays against the opinions of traditional sociology of fashion. For a long time, the area of fashion had been neglected, however, in this text the subject is discussed as a socially relevant and historically developing phenomenon and as an unique institution, which is characteristic for a modern society. Theoretical outcome of this thesis is the suggestion that fashion might be understood as one of the means used by women to express their individual self. Woman is seen as an individual human being, who lives through her own unique experience, on the other hand, her behaviour, her own experience is limited by external factors and conditions.
New Technologies in Education from the Phenomenological Point of View

This diploma thesis describes connection between education and technology from the phenomenological point of view. The hypothesis of this diploma thesis is the idea that new technologies influence changes in perception of the real world. There are students who use new technologies - the aim of the thesis is to evaluate the influence of technologies in educational process and changes in their perception of the world. The thesis describes the approach to education (Jan Patočka), new technologies in education (Branislav Frk, Marc Prensky), phenomenology and technologies (Maurice Merleau-Ponty, Paul Virilio) from the point of view of chosen authors. The thesis shows how perception of young generation (that Prensky called digital natives) is changed compared to the older one called digital immigrants and what consequences can this change cause. Phenomenon of Home

The main theme of this dissertation is the phenomenon of home. The dissertation is intended to be thought-provoking about the issues of home. The aim of this paper is to clarify the phenomenon of home in relevance to present day and to find the answers to home-relevant questions and relating to the housing of man on this Earth. The dissertation itself is arranged into five chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to the ancient Greek roots of the term "home" and briefly describes how the subject is viewed by linguistic scientists and how it is defined by selected social sciences. The second and the third chapters are at the core of this dissertation and describe in detail the phenomenon of home in the conception of two significant phenomenological thinkers, Czech philosopher Jan Patočka and German philosopher Martin Heidegger. The fourth chapter describes the issues of home through a reception of poetry by famous Czech poets. of Ph.D. Thesis Phenomenological Conception of Space Eliška Luhanová The thesis focuses on the nature of experience which a perceiving self has with other beings and on the conditions which make such an encounter possible. It emphasises the role of the spatiality, which is seen as a defining characteristic of corporeal sensible beings. Broadly speaking, the work belongs to post-phenomenological philosophy. The Introduction summarises the main methodological principles of a phenomenological approach and presents post-phenomenology as a specific discourse which rejects the egocentrism typical of classical, especially Husserlian phenomenology. The exposition proper starts with an outline of a phenomenological theory of perception (Chapter I) and continues by offering an outline of the basic ontological characteristics of sensibly given entities, especially of their trans- empirical nature (Chapter II). The following chapter briefly treats some issues related to the nature of a phenomenal field, which is described as a structure of possible ways in which beings can manifest themselves (Chapter III). Collected Works of Jan Patočka as an Editorial Problem

The dissertation thesis Collected Works of Jan Patočka as an Editorial Problem deals with both the samizdat and the printed versions of the collected works of Czech philosopher Jan Patočka (1907 - 1977) and other domestic as well as foreign editions of his work. The Archival Collection of Jan Patočka's Work emerged as the side product, to some extent uncoordinated and intuitive, of the sorting of the author's legacy in the years 1977 - 1989. Nevertheless, the 27 volumes of this unpublished edition represent a fully-fledged attempt to organize a critical edition of Patočka's collected works. At the end of the 1980's, an exile edition was intended, as the outcome of the cooperation of domestic, exiled and foreign community of researchers. The post-revolution Collected Works of Jan Patočka have been published since 1996 and, contrary to the previous series, represent a re-arranged and amended edition. The paper follows the process of scientific reflection, which has accompanied the edition of Patočka's works (both edition series were assembled by the same editorial team of Patočka's disciples.) Merleau-Ponty and the Modern Art as a Means of Return to the Lifeworld

The thesis addresses the topic of lifeworld in the work of Edmund Husserl and Maurice Merleau-Ponty. The first part describes the context surrounding the genesis of the notion of lifeworld in Husserl. The notion came about as a reaction to the crisis of sciences as perceived by Husserl, characterized by the loss of meaning, as science can no longer answer the substantial questions of human existence. A return to the natural world is then enabled by the transcendental epoché. The second part is devoted to Merleau-Ponty for whom lifeworld does not denote the realm of original self-evidences, as in Husserl, but a space of lively communication to which we are led by modern art, especially painting. According to Merleau-Ponty, modern art evinces ambiguity that rests in its inconclusiveness and multisidedness of its potential interpretation. The aim of the thesis is to show that this ambiguity corresponds to the ambiguity in lifeworld, the latter being constituted by the opposition of the seen and the seer that are subject to unending reversibility. The structure of lifeworld corresponds to the structure of modern art as understood by Merleau-Ponty.
Phenomenology and daseinsanalysis

Phenomenology has been established by Edmund Husserl, who refused the adoption of methods from naturally oriented sciences to philosophy, which, being the highest of all sciences, paradoxically seemed absolutely unscientific to Husserl. Edmund Husserl served as an inspiration for his most famous disciple, Martin Heidegger, who developed fundamental ontology, and thus provided a brand new and essential view of man and human existence in general. His concept of man gave rise to a psychotherapeutic approach - daseinsanalysis, which has been created mainly by Medard Boss, with contribution from Martin Heidegger himself.
Roots of Existential Phenomenology of Simone de Beauvoir

The theme of our work is concentrated on basic sources of inspiration of french thinker, Simone de Beauvoir. As we are trying to show, ways of conceptualization of human existence, that are common to works of Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Jean-Paul Sartre, are main focus stones, on which is being build individualization of existential phenomenological thought of Simone de Beauvoir. Therefore, our interpretation is aimed on making visible those themes, that are most important as ilustrations of these interpretations. To achieve this goal we are using She Came to Stay, the first novel of Beauvoir, where we are seeing first manifestations of main themes of her later works.
Methods and principles of self-reflection and personal development

(in English): The thesis deals with the topic of perception of one's own body and it's connection to selfreflection - especially sensation of one's own personality, in the context of school education. The thesis is an overview study, introducing the so-called education of embodiment. In the second part, the thesis describes main principles of embodied learning and their importance for self-reflection. The thesis utilizes the method of art based research, which confirms the importance of embodied learning for personal development and describes principles, methods and approaches, that allow to implement embodied learning. The thesis is a contribution to the real educational practice in the topic of personal development as a cross- curricular theme personal and social development.
