Characteristic of Panamanian Spanish

The thesis is dedicated to basic aspects of Panamanian Spanish. In the introduction is presented a brief historical context as an integral element of the development of language. The main part is devoted to the description of phonetic, lexical and morphosyntactic units of this variant. Are outlined current trends in speech and language creativity of Panamananians. In the final part of the thesis are presented culture and language considered as a determining factor in this co-option of Spanish. The last chapter explores the influence of indigenous and major European languages in Panamanian Spanish. Usage of langue stereotypes of female and male communication in contemporarymedia: analysisof gender language instruments on exemple of magazines Cosmopolitan and Esquire

This thesis discusses the usage of stereotypical ideas concerned the communication of men and women and usage of language tools typical for male and female speech in the language of contemporary media. In theoretical part of thesis, we are trying to connect the knowledge from several sciences to clarify terms like a gender, gender role, stereotype etc. We are trying to prove that there are some differences between male and female language. We are concerned with psychological evolution of human to the maleness and femaleness with regard to cultural and social influences which are forming the identity of human. In the practical part of thesis, we are trying to verify using questionnaire that the popular ideas about male and female speech have stereotypical character. In other point, we are trying to verify that the stereotypical ideas about male and female speech are reflected by contemporary media which are including those ideas in the medial contents. We are using the samples of magazines with male and female themes - Cosmopolitan and Esquire. We would like to demonstrate on these magazines that magazines for men and women are using some of language tools which are using men and women.
Phylogenetic assesment of cultural characters

Phylogenetic methods have been used for analysing cultural characters extensively in the last ten years. This bachelor thesis starts with a brief overview and characteristics of the methods used for these analyses and then it deals with all three main fields where these methods have been applied. The first one of them is the analysis of manuscripts and their relations which is unique in that even non-cladistic methods bring usually good results. The second field discussed in this thesis is the anthropological characters, including both artefacts of material culture and various features of social orders. The last one deals with the analysis of languages and language families. In all the chapters, different approaches to different data are listed and the most important studies are described in detail. The thesis also attempts to find negative and positive sides of different approaches.
The importance of linguistic interpretation of law

This thesis describes linguistic interpretation in the context of interpretation of law, that is defined either as discipline of law, either as social discipline. In linguistic interpretation plays basic role linguistic interpretation. In the chapter that follows the chapter with description of the linguistic interpretation and its specifics in interpretation of law, the author puts linguistic interpretation among the other methods of interpretation. Although she admits the opinion of The Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic, that linguistic interpretation is only the first approach to the text, she looks for argumentation that disproves this opinion. She finds one of possible arguments, when she relativizes enumeration of linguistics disciplines, because of pragmatics. Pragmatics as a linguistic discipline is not in this enumeration. The author says, that the reason is, that pragmatics would change meaning and understanding of the linguistic interpretation, bescause of presence of context as a common factor in pragmatics and in the teleological interpretation. The fourth chapter describes legal language as an object of the linguistic interpretation and also as an instrument of lawmakers. Anglicisms in German Media

Title: Anglicisms in German Media This bachelor thesis examines the occurrence of Anglicisms in the German daily newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung with the focus on the sport and political section. The aim of this thesis is to outline the frequency and the form in which Anglicisms are employed in the sections in question and to what extent they are integrated in the German language. This thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The first chapter of the theoretical part defines and delimitates the term Anglicism. The second chapter deals with the historical development of the German language including the influences of foreign languages. . The third chapter describes Anglicisms from the point of view of orthography, morphology, lexicology, syntax and stylistics. The last chapter of the theoretical part introduces the daily newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung. The practical part is based on the research of the daily Süddeutsche Zeitung. The first chapter examines selected Anglicisms from the sport section, the second chapter from the political section. They are examined from the etymological and linguistic point of view with respect to their integration in the German lexicon. Conclusion summarizes the outcome of this study. Firstly, the phenomenon is contextualized in the group of other types of computer-mediated communication realized by the medium of the Internet. Secondly, it is defined by the factors of public accessibility (versus the participants' illusion of privacy) and dialogic, interactive properties. Lastly, it is put in contrast with online chat concerning the presence of a topic, asynchronous and more permanent character. The aim of the thesis is to analyze and describe the way contemporary Czech language is used in this particular environment. The demonstrative determinant actualizes and identifies noun in utterance by referring to the situation of communication, linguistic context, or to shared experience. The demonstrative pronoun represents totally, partially or conceptually its antecedent, which is contained in the situation of communication or linguistic context. Both parts of speech contribute to coherence and better orientation of the reader in academic text.

The project deals with the design and implementation of the program based on frequency analysis of the text. The results should provide a quick overview about currently published articles in the newspapers. The program downloads the current articles from newspaper Web sites. For each of defined section and each article is able to list the most frequent n-tuple of words. There is option to define dictionary of uninteresting (banned) words and dictionary of phrases. Implementation solves some problems with downloading articles from various structure different servers, such as problems with encoding and problems with recognition articles from advertisement. The work reveals that simple frequency analysis can bring interesting results.
Minor Place-names in the Žďársko Region

This bachelor thesis contains 190 minor place-names from a part of the Žďársko region. Three types of minor place-names, which correspond to the three main chapters, are examined: hydronyms, oronyms and land names. The minor place-names belonging to a given group are listed alphabetically in each section. Each name is given the type of geographical unit and sources from which it was read out. The main objective of this work is to determine the origin of the examined anoikonyms. This research deals with word formation analysis and distribution of minor place-names into groups according to their significance. Various methods of collection, analysis and interpretation of the collected data were applied to create this work. A number of different printed materials, journals and internet resources were used to explain all the examined entries. It was necessary to attend an interview with witnesses or experts in the discipline of analysis, too.
Analysis of publicistic columns specifically focused on politically aimed commentary

Diploma thesis, Analysis of publicistic columns specifically focused on politically aimed commentary, treats of attitude of authors of publicistic columns about political parties or eventually to politicians. The aim of this work is to describe the ways and means of expressing authors use to formulate their position, focusing on these within Pravo's and Mladá fronta DNES's print-outs from January 2010 to June 2010 so mainly in months before the elections. The first part presents modern development of approach to language and text. That should elucidate how the pragmatic way of language examination has begun. In the practical part I applied the approach to language and text, as listed above, and I applied the pragmatic analysis. Qualitative analysis of publicistic columns examines inclination of authors to left-wing or right-wing parties, mostly to ODS or ČSSD. It is possible to deduce what authors criticize within the frame of the whole political situation. This work also examines, what means authors of publicistic articles use to profess affection or aversion to particular politician or political party. This diploma thesis forms compendium of publicistic texts in chosen journals and characterizes the conception which reflects their relation to politics.
