Sequensová, Kateřina ; Kasíková, Hana (advisor) ; Běhalová, Andrea (referee)
The master thesis deals with the issue of the Global Development Education. It is focused closer on the description of the implementation methods of this topic into the Czech education system. Global Development Education is not mentioned directly in the Framework Education Programmes of the Czech Republic. Nevertheless the Framework Education Programmes contain it. Global Development Education goes across the Cross-curricular Topics. However that could be the reason why the schools don't pay to it as much attention as it deserves. This thesis describes the ways of implementation of the Global Development Education into the Czech education system and into the teaching in the Czech schools. This work is divided into two parts. The first part is theoretical and it tries to briefly outline the theoretical background, beginnings of the Global Development Education in the Czech surroundings, curriculum and strategic documents that deals with the issue of the Global Development Education. In the first part there are also mentioned the possibilities how to integrate this topic into the school education programs and into the teaching as well. The second part of this work is based on the empirical research among five Czech schools. It is built on the qualitative analysis of the school education programs...

Kaplanová, Petra ; Kotrusová, Miriam (advisor) ; Mouralová, Magdalena (referee)
Diploma thesis: Beliefs of actors in relation to preschool education at local level Author: Bc. Petra Kaplanová Abstract The aim of this thesis is to explore and compare beliefs of actors in relation with preschool education at local level and determine how they influence policy of preschool education. Used methodology is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. The most significant used theory is a system of beliefs from Paul A. Sabatiera which is a part of theory of avocational coalitions. Four different beliefs were revealed. The first belief called "pro alternatives" did not show deep core beliefs of actors. However, it was obvious that these actors sympathize with alternative education principles. Second belief "traditional collective" is based on conviction that children should have the same conditions for the beginning of their lives. The state education is the best what is for children offered. In the third belief "not interested" are actors convicted not to participate in any level of politics. They believe it can cause either trouble or it will not have any effects. The last belief "traditional individualistic" is characterized with a belief that state form of education is the best what can be provided to children. On contrary with belief "traditional collective" these actors are...
The Academic Milieu in Times of Communist Vetting - Higher Education in 1948-1956. Post-war Reform of Czech Higher Education and Is Origins
Jareš, Jakub ; Kopeček, Michal (advisor) ; Petráň, Josef (referee) ; Šima, Karel (referee)
This thesis deals with a reform of Czech higher education after the Second World War. While traditional treatments follow the communist experiment from its beginnings until its 'inevitable' downfall in 1989, this work focuses on its roots and end with the adoption of the new Higher Education Act in 1950. This reversal of perspective reveals similarities between the communist reform and modernisation trends which influenced the development of higher education also in the West. We follow the discussion about the future of higher education, which went on in 1930s-1950s, try to see how universities tried to approach the tension between their freedoms and demands for serving the public, and analyse the way in which the communist reform responded to this issue. Czech higher education was formed by Humboldtian principles, which were partly implemented in mid-19th century. During the interwar period, this framework basically remained in place: higher education developed in terms of quantity rather than quality but certain problems with demanded attention also started coming to the fore. Attempts by the Ministry of Education to implement partial reforms met with resistance from the academic institutions and many academics focused on passionately defending the autonomy of universities. During the wartime, the...

Kabele, Jiří ; Trojan, Václav (advisor) ; Kitzberger, Jindřich (referee)
The subject of this thesis are the models of the school-leaving exams changing over time due to the educational policy of the state and sometimes tumultuous political developments. The theoretical part contains historical analysis of the graduation exam and its models, creating the basis for the empirical part. Based on the study of legislation and rules governing conditions and holding the graduation exams and further study of the relevant literature, on a precise description of the current model and indicating the current efforts to modify the existing model of the graduation exam the vivid picture of this phenomenon in the whole range of educational issues is created. The attention is also paid to the issue of holding the graduation exam. The leaving examination since its inception in our country in 1849 has been defined by the law, its implementation has been modified the closer decrees. It has always been a significant "politicians", not only purely "educational theme." Changes in model of the school-leaving examination always reflect the changes in the system of our educational policy. The aim of the work in the empirical part is to analyze the current evolution, current status, to identify neuralgic points of the graduation exams and to suggest possible trends of the graduation exam in the...
State-administrated secondary schooling leaving examinations (Maturita): stated objectives from the actors perspective
Biolek, Jiří ; Veselý, Arnošt (advisor) ; Šojdrová, Michaela (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the area of education policy as a subset of public policy. It focuses on the issues associated with the Czech secondary school graduation examination (maturitní zkouška), presenting especially the current thinking in the area of graduation examination from the viewpoint of education policy actors. This thesis utilises the Advocacy Coalition Framework approach to identify belief consensuses within the graduation examination discourse across a segment of selected expert participants. For this purpose, the Q-methodology is applied as it is fundamentally able to reveal consensuses and thus identify the relevant coalitions. The chapter containing the outputs of Q factor analysis constitutes a crucial part of the thesis, clearly revealing two independent schools of thought in this area. Exploratory interviews were conducted during field research and their outputs significantly contributed to the description of the established factors and advocacy coalitions.
Migration, language and integration (Comparison of the Netherlands and Flanders in the 1970s and 1980s)
Vokáčová, Martina ; Stellner, František (advisor) ; Klusáková, Luďa (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the Dutch and Flemish policies towards immigrants in the 1970s and 1980s and the role attributed to language in them. It examines the arguments and concepts by which both the policies were motivated and legitimated and evaluates critically their usual periodization. It points out the risk of a wrong reading of the Dutch "tweesporenbeleid" of the 1970s as based on multiculturalism instead of expectation of return of the immigrants into their home country. It concentrates on the Minderhedennota of 1981/83 as the main turning point leading to the interpretation of the allochton-issue as socio-economic problem and examines the public debate on the basis of documents of the Dutch parliament. The acquisition of Dutch as second language, it states, always played a crucial role in the policies. Since the 1980s, more attention was paid to evaluation of school curricula in terms of non-discrimination of non-native speakers. In the Flemish case, less systematical approaches were stated. The policies were less centralized and crucially influenced by the fact of bilinguism and the competition between Dutch and French in Belgium. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Comparison of the influence of the PISA Study on the german and the czech educational system 2000-2009
Vermachová, Helena ; Šafařík, Petr (advisor) ; Emler, David (referee)
This paper aims to compare the results and effects of the PISA study on the Czech and German educational system. The OECD compares with the PISA tests the abilities of the fifteen-year-old to use what they have learned during the compulsory school time in real life situations. Opposite to Czech Republic, Germany was able to improve its results. The undertaken reforms in Germany as well as in Czech Republic aim at similar goals, their results vary, however. The causes of the different outcomes are described by analysing the used instruments of educational policy and the whole political and public reception of the study. Those are illustrated by an overview of the media coverage relating to the PISA Study.
