Admission procedure to the first grade of primary education. Case studies of admission procedures

The diploma thesis focuses on issues of the school admission to the 1st grade of the primary school. Nowadays this topic is more and more often discussed mainly from perspective of the different approach of many primary schools to checking out the school readiness during the school admission. This thesis is divided into two parts, the theoretical and the practical part. The first chapter of the theoretical part describes the terms school readiness and its particular issues. Next chapter describes the school admission to the 1st grade; there we can find recommended methods of checking the school readiness and organization of the school entry. Next chapter focuses on postponement of school attendance and preparatory classes, which are aimed at those children who got the postponement of school attendance. The last chapter deals with the school entrance and first months spent in the school class, because it relates to the school readiness and school admission and therefore it logically closes the theoretical part. The practical part of the thesis presents case study of the school admission on six primary schools. Evaluation of two diagnostic tools used to diagnose school readiness

The thesis is devoted to the issue of school readiness and its diagnosis. The aim was to compare the two tests used for the testing of school readiness and to assess whether the comparatively evaluate some aspects of school readiness. In the first chapter of the theoretical part the area of development of preschool children in describe. The second chapter is devoted to major changes in the legislation of our education. The next two chapters (third and fourth) are on school readiness, enrollment in elementary and diagnostics of school maturity. The last, fifth chapter of the theoretical part, deals with immaturity and unpreparedness for entry into school. In the practical part I focused on in-house testing and evaluation of tests used. For testing, I chose two tests used to evaluate school maturity. The results of the two tests I tried using statistical methods to determine whether these tests evaluate comparatively. Speech prevention in kindergarten

The theoretical part of this thesis deals with issues of speech disorder prevention, speech development in children, the most common articulation disorder - dyslalia and possible ways of its prevention. Further on, I focus on various factors contributing to speech development, on the framework educational programme for pre-school education in relation to language and speech and on the actual speech disorder prevention in the nursery school programme. The practical part discusses ways the primary prevention in nursery schools actually works, if the teachers are given sufficient support in this area and whether common practice corresponds with their vision of an ideal prevention delivery. Results will be collected through a questionnaire, additional interviews and literature analysis. The goal of this work is to map teachers' interest and knowledge in the area of primary speech disorder prevention and its relation to postponement of compulsory school attendance. Pupils with posponement of the first year of elementary school

The topic "Pupils with posponement of the first year of elementary school" is very topical and the whole diploma thesis is devoted to this issue. In the theoretical part, the basic concepts and terms describing school maturity and preparedness, postponement of school attendance, obligatory pre-school attendance in kindergartens and preparátory classes of elementary schools, teacher's work with pupils in the preparátory year and the last obligatory pre-school year of kindergarten are discussed. The practical part is devoted to comparing and analyzing the quality of preparation of pupils of kindergartens and preparatory classes for the first year. In this part methods of work in individual educational activities are observed. To obtain the neceséry informatik the work with professional literature, the observation, the interview, the analysis of results of work and practice in kindergarten and in preparátory year are used. The aim is to find out and analyze preparadness of pupils for the first year, managing the first in the elementary school. Speech therapy for dyslalia in first graders

The bachelor's thesis entitled "Speech therapy for dyslalia in first-graders" is from the field of special pedagogy. This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of communication skills in children of younger school age. It focuses on the speech therapy issues of dyslalia and the associated postponement of school attendance. The theoretical part of the work includes the definition of basic terms associated with the field of speech therapy, impaired communication skills, dyslalia described in more detail and finally summarized the basic aspects for the child's entry into school. The practical part includes qualitative research. The aim of the practical part of the work is the analysis of the issue of dyslalia in first graders after a year's postponement of school attendance. The form of case studies for the monitored group of children was used for the elaboration of the research survey. School maturity and school readiness of pupils in preparatory class

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of school maturity and readiness of pupils in the preparatory class. In the theoretical part the basic terminology from the field of pre-school education and problems of entering the elementary school is defined. There are also the principles of the preliminary test of school maturity described in detail. They are subsequently applied in practical research. The research part focuses on the comparison of the level of school maturity and readiness of pupils in the preparatory class and children in kindergarten. The survey was mainly conducted using qualitative methods, specifically through interviews, questionnaires and anamnesis. However, one quantitative method was also included - the standardized preliminary test of school maturity. This test focuses on fine motor skills and visuo-motor coordination ability. The research was carried out in preparatory classes and kindergartens in Mladá Boleslav and its surroundings. The goal of this diploma thesis was to find out whether education in a certain kind of preschool facility can affect children's readiness for school. Research results showed, that preparatory classes have better conditions for the development of a preschool pupil with postponement of school attendance than kindergartens. KEY WORDS Preschool...
School Maturity and Beginning of School Attendance

This diploma thesis deals with an admission procedure to the first form of primary education, school readiness, beginning of the school attendance and a formation of initial literacy in the first form of primary school. The theoretical part focuses on the ontogeny of a child in the pre-school and young school age, school readiness, the beginning of school attendance and the initial reading and writing skills. The research focuses on the preparation of children in kindergartens for school. It also describes three processes of admission procedure to the first form of primary school at three different schools. The author also analyses results of these admission procedures in 2018. She also analyses the human body drawings in connection with the school readiness. Last but not least she analyses the formation of hygiene habits of pupils in the first forms. The findings of this research are compared with the information in the theoretical part. There are also many appendices that document the research. At the end of the thesis there is the interpretation of the research and a description of contemporary school readiness issues.
