Possibilities Of Tinnitus Treatment

Tinnitus is tinnitus, or the perception of sound without audible complaint. He has a different character and intensity, is often associated with impaired hearing. Can most diseases can cause ear pathology in the head and neck, and a number of systemic diseases. Not always able to find a single cause, because very often there are reasons of tinnitus complex due polymorbidity patient. Tinnitus is a symptom negligible prevalence is estimated at around 10% of the modern population. You can also say that tinnitus is disease of civilization. The culprit is probably frustrating lifestyle, full of noise, hurry, poor eating habits, ototoxic substances, unequal burden of musculoskeletal and many others potential factors. It is in these points can intervene in terms of prevent and reduce the likelihood of this unpleasant phenomenon that most patients significantly reduces quality of life.

Membrane potential measurement with voltage sensitive dyes in fluorescence microscopy

The aim of this work is to make a literature search in the measurement of membrane voltage using voltage-sensitive dyes and suggest a method for measuring the membrane voltage on the available cells using the voltage-sensitive dye di 4 ANEPPS and its further implementation. The work contains an introduction to electrophysiology of cells, and explains typical fluorescence characteristics. The thesis contains the description of a fluorescence microscope. The document presents characteristics of voltage-sensitive dyes and their distribution. A large part of the work describes the implementation and measurement of the experiment. The document also includes different methods for measuring and processing of all results.

Operational study of gastronomic establishment

The goal of this study is to elaborate an operational study of a gastronomic establishment, analyze competitive advantage and describe the marketing instruments. This study is divided into three parts. The first part is theoretical and describes gastronomic services, forms and functions. The second one analyzes a restaurant which I chose. The last part of the study evaluates contemporary situation and proposes how to improve this state.

The authority database of the National Library of the Czech Republic - perspectives of development

Tématem práce je kooperativní systém zpracování autoritnich záznamů v České republice a možnosti jeho dalšího rozvoje v kontextu mezinárodně doporučené metodiky a zkušeností ze zahraničních projektů. V úvodní části rigorózní práce je analyzován termín "autorita". Další část je věnována základním aspektům mezinárodního vývoje autoritních databází, a to především z hlediska vývoje standardů a doporučení pro zpracování. Dokumentuje vývoj českého národního autoritního souboru pro jmenné i věcné záznamy od konce devadesátých let 20. století do roku 2006. Podrobně jsou hodnocena doporučení IFLA "Směrnice pro autoritni záznamy a odkazy" a konceptuální model "Funkční požadavky na autoritni záznamy". Pro identifikaci autoritního záznamu v kooperativních systémech je významným prvkem identifikátor entity a identifikační čísla záznamů, práce analyzuje několik těchto systémů. Práce se věnuje mezinárodním projektům (NACO, AUTHOR, VIAF, LEAF) a využití jejich zkušeností v českém systému. Těžiště práce spočívá v rozboru historie, finančního zabezpečení, technického řešení a metodiky projektu "Kooperativní tvorba a využívání souboru národních autorit". V závěrečném shrnutí jsou definovány okruhy problémů, jejichž vyřešení by umožnilo další rozvoj českého projektu.

CHALCONES AND THEIR ANALOGS AS POTENTIAL DRUGS VII Lucie Švédová Department of pharmaceutical chemistry and drug control, Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Heyrovského 1203, 500 05 Hradec Králové, Czech Republic Abstract of the rigorous thesis: This synthetic thesis is focused on searching of potential drugs from the group of chalcone derivatives and links up to the long-term studied topic at our department. Antibacterial and antifungal effects are the main examined biological activities. In the theoretical part of this thesis there were arranged various antineoplastic effects of naturally occuring or synthetic chalcones. The bibliographic searches involve items from the last decade. Possible interventions on the level of control processes, proteosynthesis and nucleic acid synthesis, influence on mitosis, apoptosis and the P-glycoprotein and the action on angiogenesis and cancer invasivity were summarized. In addition antioxidant activity and other mechanisms of chemoprevention were introduced as well. Different methods of chalcone synthesis were summed up in conclusion. Somatomotor and somatosensory modulation of pain in the EEG and fMR image

Pain processing is modulated at different levels of the central nervous system by concurrent sensory and motor processes. From previous studies with innocuous somatosensory evoked potentials we know of the phenomenon of gating by movement. The classical explanation [Melzack R, Wall PD. Pain mechanisms: a new theory. Science 1965;150(699):971-979.] of the mechanism of gating in the posterior horn of spinal cord is complemented by other, lesser understood data, suggesting supraspinal mechanisms. A similar lack of understanding of the cortical mechanisms is seen in pain modulating methods using concurrent electrical nerve stimulation. This work is intended to further our understanding of the cortical mechanisms of pain modulation in the specific cases of (a) isometric muscle contraction of the right or left hand during painful electrical intraepidermal stimulation of the right index finger and (b) during observation of the acute effects of concurrent innocuous median nerve stimulation on painful tonic thermal stimulation of the thenar eminence.

The case in Czech and foreign language learning

V posledních letech jsme svědky postupného oživování teoretického zájmu o češtinu pro cizince. Vzrůstá záj em studentů o český jazyk a současně s tím potřeba nových učebních materiálů, které by odpovídaly jejich požadavkům a úrovni znalostí. Stále chybějí další publikace nezbytné pro praktickou výuku cizího jazyka, jako j sou specializované mluvnice a slovníky nebo metodické příručky pro učitele. Metodologický zájem o výuku cizích jazyků j e inspirován také evropskými programy. Jednou z nejproblematičtějších pasáží češtiny jako cizího jazyka je jak pro učitele, tak studenty pádový systém. Prezentace pádového systému ovlivňuje podobu učebnic, výběr témat, slovní zásoby. Dalším velkým problémem zůstává také, jak studentům pád vysvětlovat. Tyto otázky se dostávají v poslední době znovu do popředí v souvislosti s rozvojem kognitivní lingvistiky. Cílem této diplomové práce je poukázat na význam pádu ve výuce češtiny jako cizího jazyka. Ve druhé kapitole se zaměříme na jazykové a komunikační funkce pádu jako jednoho z prostředků gramatické výstavby věty. Ve třetí se pokusíme zhodnotit dosavadní pedagogické popisy češtiny pro potřeby cizoj azyčné výuky z hlediska vztahu k lingvistickým poznatkům o pádu a výhodnosti pro jazykovou výuku. Daniel Gile's effort model and its application on texts with numerals and enumerations

Tato teoreticko-empirická práce se zaměřuje na model úsilí Daniela Gila a jeho aplikaci na simultánní tlumočení textů nasycených číselnými údaji a výčty. V teoretické části model podrobně popisujeme a analyzujeme a aplikujeme jej na simultánní tlumočení. Dále definujeme základní problémy a nedostatky spojené se simultánním tlumočením projevů z francouzštiny do češtiny u textů nasycených číselnými údaji a výčty z hlediska nároků na pracovní kapacitu v důsledku nasycenosti textu i specifik francouzských číslovek a jejich převodu do češtiny. Při tlumočení číselných údajů a výčtů se zvyšují nároky na pracovní kapacitu, zvláště na poslech a analýzu a na paměť, čímž může dojít ke snížení množství kapacity dostupné pro poslech a zpracování následujících částí projevu. Na základě postulátů Gilova modelu úsilí jsme stanovili pracovní hypotézu, podle které v důsledku vzniku deficitního řetězce dojde ke zhoršení kvality přetlumočení u nenáročných úseků, které následují bezprostředně po náročných segmentech obsahujících číselné údaje a výčty. Deficitní řetězec je důsledkem individuálního deficitu u některého z úsilí či celkového zahlcení pracovní kapacity. Dílčí hypotézou je, že výkon profesionálních tlumočníků bude celkově kvalitnější a zhoršení nebude se zvyšující se obtížností úseků předcházejících sledovaným místům...

Shaping the psychological concept in teaching psychology

The topic of this thesis is the issue of construing psychological concepts studied from the didactic- pedagogical and especially from the psychological point of view. The complicated processing of notions into concepts construction found its theoretical resource mainly in the theories of Vygotsky, Piaget and Bruner. The thesis analyses individual, social and educational constructivism and compares transmisive and constructivistic approaches within the school education. A separate section of the theoretic part deals with the didactics of psychology and with the definition of the term psycho-didactics. The topics of adolescent characteristics (with the focus on their cognitive development) and the concept of temperament (mainly its typologies) are included for empirical research reasons. The empirical part of the thesis confirms the patterns described in theories on a concrete psychological concept. For experimental research, the relatively well defined concept 'temperament' was purposely chosen (specifically types of classical temperament typology). The appropriation and understanding of these psychological notions/concepts are affected by several factors. Greek cosmogony: treatment of cosmogonic motif in Hesiod's Theogony

Záměrem předkládané práce je sledování kosmogonického motivu v řecké tradici, a to na konkrétním příkladu Hésiodovy Theogonie. Theogonie se k tomuto zkoumání nabízí jako nejstarší dochované podání, které integruje kosmogonickou problematiku a zpracovává ji uceleným a systematizujícím způsobem. Representativní postavení Theogonie je v tomto ohledu oprávněné i vzhledem k tomu, že se - nehledě k přítomnosti alternativních prvků v řecké tradici - etabluje jako nejvýraznější a v mnoha ohledech inspirativní verze kosmogonického podání. V první části tohoto úvodu se zamenm na představení Theogonie jako primárního literárního pramene ke sledování dané problematiky, a sice na její představení z hlediska datace, autorství a žánrového zařazení.
