The connection between value orientation and wellbeing of university students
In the theoretical part of this bachelor's thesis, the historical development of values and well-being as a contruct in psychology is briefly described. The thesis focuses on the values and well-being of university students and the findings presented here are also related to adolescents and young adults beyond the general level. Furthermore, it desfine the psychological constructs of value and well-being as they are approached in theories used in standardized methods, and in general these will be defined for the purposes of the work. The empirical part of the work tries to find out any connection between the results of the SWLS (Satisfaction with life survey), PVQ (Portrait value questionnaire) and PWBS (Psychological well-being survey) questionnaires. The research sample consists of N = 195 respondents from universities across the Czech Republic from various faculties. The aim of the thesis is to find out the differences in value orientation and the level of well-being among students of different universities and different fields of study and to discover a possible correlation between certain values and well-being.

It also deals with nursing care for these patients and their self-care. Lastly, it clarifies the concept of quality of life, its history, how we generally evaluate quality of life and how we can evaluate it in patients with vitiligo, and also what effect this disease has on the patient's quality of life. The empirical part describes the results of quantitative research, which took place in 52 patients using the Czech version of the VitiQoL questionnaire, which was translated into Czech with the consent of foreign authors. Besides the overall quality of life, this bachelor's thesis focuses on specific areas of quality of life that are highly relevant...

Name and surname of the author: Kateřina Šimáková Institution: Charles University Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové, Department of Nonmedical Studies Title: Quality of life of patients after amputation of lower limb Supervisor: prof. PhDr. Jiří Mareš, CSc. Number of pages: 97 Number of attachments: 2 Year of defence: 2022 Keywords: amputation, lower limb, quality of life The Bachelor thesis is about the quality of life of patients after a lower leg amputation. The theoretical part captures a medical, psychological and nursing view of a patient after a lower leg amputation. Furthermore, the theoretical part focuses on rehabilitation after amputation, the types of compensatory devices and the barriers patients may face after amputation. The last part deals with a quality of life of the patients. The empirical part is based on the results of a quantitative semi-standardized questionnaire. The aim of this work was to determine the quality of life in patients after lower limb amputation. I was interested in how the patients coped with the amputation and whether the amputation had changed their social and personal lives. The patients, who had lived with a severed limb for a longer time have already come in terms with the amputation and are living a normal full-fledged life as per the research....
Domestic violence against women
Teuberová, Petra ; Mareš, Jiří (advisor) ; Kutnohorská, Jana (referee)
116 Abstract Author: Petra Teuberová Institution: Charles University Fakulty of Medicine in Hradec Králové Department of non-medical studies Title: Domestic violence againts women Supervisor: prof. PhDr. Jiří Mareš, CSc. Number of pages: 142 Number of attachments: 14 Year of defense: 2022 Keywords: domestic violence, diagnostics, help, healthcare The bachelor's thesis "Domestic violence against women" deals with the issue of abuse of women. This global problem should be minimized through education and awareness. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the definition of domestic violence, signs and symptoms, form, dynamics, consequences of domestic violence, the characteristics of the victim and the perpetrator, the changes that occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic. Then followed help, prevention with a focus on health care and health care providers. The research part was followed. The sample of nurses found out: how common is the detection of victims of domestic violence, how are nurses prepared to diagnose domestic violence, how are the nurses prepared to help victims of domestic violence. The research took the form of a questionnaire. This questionnaire was based on the questionnaire from Great Britain by Ramsay et al. (2012). 59 nurses aged from 18 years to 52 years have participated in the...
Luminescence spectroscopy of impurities in fast oxide scintillators
Kučerková, Romana ; Kučera, Miroslav (advisor) ; Mareš, Jiří A. (referee)
In the present work we studied the dependence on concentration gallium ion in single crystal LGAG: Pr a LuAG: Pr, prepared by ,,micro-pulling down,, method (-PD) at Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan. -PD method allows growing a single crystal using small amount of row material, typically less than 1 g, in time period of one day because of very high growth speed up to 20mm/min. Scintillation materials are necessary for a number of applications (e.g. medicine), in which high spatial resolution is required. The aim of this work was to measure luminescence and scintillation characteristics of the Pr3+ doped -PD grown Lu3Al5O12 single crystal host. The absorption, photo- and radioluminescence spectra and both photoluminescence and scintillation decay curves were measured. The photoluminescence decay curves was single-exponetial characterized by a lifetime around 17ns. Slow components were present in the scintillation decay curves. This is a consequence of retrapping of the charge carriers on electron traps connected with the anti-site defects, which are generally present in Czochralski od -PD grown aluminium garnets. On the other hand, they are completely supressed in the liquid-phase-epitaxy grown single crystalline films due to lower growth temperature. Excitation spectra of the 5d-4f luminescence completely...
Statistical aspects of nuclear collective dynamics
Macek, Michal ; Cejnar, Pavel (advisor) ; Kvasil, Jan (referee) ; Mareš, Jiří (referee)
The current PhD thesis presents a collection of selected articles related to the theoretical and numerical study of low-energy collective dynamics of atomic nuclei. The articles were published or recently submitted to international physics journals and were authored or co-authored by the author of the thesis. The eects in collective dynamics have been studied within the framework of two common models-the interacting boson model (IBM) and to a lesser extent the geometric collective model (GCM). The "statistical aspects" in the title relate predominantly to the interplay of ordered and chaotic behavior observed in properties of quantum eigenstates as well as in the classical limits of the models. The main attention was devoted to correlations between the measures of regularity/chaos and the presence of exact and approximate dynamical symmetries. An important subject of the studies were also the relationships between the properties of the classical and quantum solutions of the models both in the integrable regime as well as in the mixed regime containing elements of regularity and chaos simultaneously.
Experience in patients with invasive procedures
Pechová, Jana ; Mareš, Jiří (advisor) ; Gigalová, Veronika (referee)
Author: Jana Pechová Institution: Department of Social Medicine LF UK in Hradec Kralove Department of Nursing Title of the work: Experience in Patients with Invasive Procedures Academic advisor: prof. PhDr. Jiří Mareš, PhD. Number of pages: 96 Number of attachments: 2 Defended in: 2015 Key words: invasive examination, colonoscopy, gastroscopy, patient's experience Bachelor's thesis discusses patient's experience with invasive examination (colonoscopy, gastroscopy). The theoretical part explains the main symptoms of gastrointestinal disease, describes problems of colonoscopy and gastroscopy. It deals with nursing care before and after the examination and characterizes nursing diagnosis. It includes patient's education before colonoscopy, particularly in preparation for this examination. In the empirical part, using a mixed approach, the author examines patient's experiences with examination closer. Semi - structured interview were used for ten selected respondents and other fifty patients filled in questionnaire IPQ-R-CZ (B) (with the agreement of J. Mares, the author of the Czech version). All patients suffer from gastrointestinal disease and patients who I interviewed also have experience with endoscopic examination. It maps the general awareness, information given immediately before the...
