Options of implementation of the project teaching for German language teaching in the first level of elementary school

This Diploma thesis deals with the project teaching and with the options of implementation of this method into second language teaching in the first level of elementary schools. Theoretical part of the thesis focuses on history, characteristics, classification, phases, advantages and disadvantages of the project teaching. In the second part, the thesis is based on a five-hour long project called "Berlin entdecken" created by the author and realized in the fifth year of elementary school with the extended second language teaching specialization. The thesis aims to find out students' attitude towards the project teaching. Also, based on a case study, it tries to find out whether the integration of this teaching method is applicable to teaching process among students with different education expectations. The research draws on both quantitative and qualitative methods (i.e. questionnaire, observation, and structured interview). Based on the carried out research, the thesis find out that the project teaching is an appropriate method for second language teaching in the first level of elementary schools. Similarly to other methods, however, the project teaching also has its constraints which need to be taken into consideration. Musical dramatic suggestions for kindergarten and family cooperation

The thesis will provide suggestion for cooperation of a kindergarten and a family in contemporary life conditions by the means of authorial musical dramatic script. The diplomate will partially utilise results of her bachelor's thesis that she will elaborate theoretically, methodically and practically. She will carry out the pedagogical-psychological characteristics of a preschool age child from the point of view of his or her ethical profile and aesthetic feeling creation especially through the medium of project teaching. The practical part will consist of authorial script that the student will design as an integration of musical, dramatic and artistic activities in a creative cooperation of preschool age children, parents, grandparents and other contributors. The results of this thesis will be realised artistically and publicly. The diplomate will examine the efficacy of this artistic aesthetic aim by the means of analysis authorial script, surveys and interviews with actors and the audience.
Possibilities of the didactical use of the Jewish Museum in Prague for educational purposes concerning civics and humanities as a part of the Framework Education Programme for Secondary General Education

This diploma thesis is focused on possibilities of civil and social/scientific basis education along with use of activities of the Jewish museum in Prague and its action. Theoretical part of the thesis compares three different perspectives of the museum as an institution and represents museological, pedagogical and museum- pedagogical knowledge. Furthermore, this part describes the relation between the museum and school as well as the museum and society. This part also contains characteristics of the Jewish museum activities and its history. Last passage of theoretical part includes a presentation of project education as a form of teaching. Practical part involves education project on human rights subject for students of secondary school. Theoretical part of the diploma thesis is based on study of technical literature, practical part comes out from Framework Education Programme for Secondary General Education. MASTER THESIS TITLE: Didactic principles of John Amos Comenius and their application in today's teaching of German language AUTHOR: Stanislava Černá DEPARTMENT: Department of Germanics SUPERVISOR: PaedDr. Dagmar Švermová This master thesis is focused on the personality of meaningful Czech thinker J. A. Comenius and his didactical principles, many of which are nowadays still relevant. The most emphasized principles are activity, motivation and student's perception with the use of all senses. The last mentioned principle can be ensured by the activity-oriented teaching; student can be motivated and exacerbated by problem-oriented or project teaching. Theoretical part of the thesis is dedicated to the definition of principles, understanding of the activity principle before and today, its use in the foreign language teaching and the definition of aims and key competencies. Following practical part describes realization of two projects where was validated that inclusion of projects into German language teaching is suitable motivating and exacerbating means in case the aims and methods are selected appropriately. Development reading literacy by project in primary school

This thesis open the problematics of reading literacy and its development by project teaching. Dissertation is divided into two parts - theoretically and practically. In the first part there is described foundation of projects and project teaching, its history and advantages of its technique. Another topic is reading literacy, especially different concepts and ways of development by RWCT, creative drama and project teaching. Particular project is described in empiric part. Pupils of third class at primal school were observed during project. Qualitative and quantitative research is used in this thesis. The aim of research is influence of project teaching on pupil's motivation during the work with reading matter.
Industrial Revolution: efficiency of the project teaching compared to lecture method

The thesis is aimed at two different teaching methods, which are compared not only from the viewpoint of their positives and negatives, but also their effectiveness is valuated. One thematic unit from the history curriculum at lower-secondary school is chosen and two different methods are applied, one is based on lecture method, the other one involves project teaching. The effectiveness of the methods is ascertained on the basis of applying these methods in two teaching classes of elementary school. The common thematic unit is Industrial Revolution. According to the number of points every pupil achieves in the didactical test, the class with project teaching turned out better, however the difference was not so prominent. Important is that the effectiveness of both methods cannot be measured based only on number of obtained points. For this reason the author uses another evaluation of methods based on the Bloom's Taxonomy of educational objectives. By analysing the pupil's answers it was ascertained, that the pupils using the project teaching achieved (apart from factual knowledge) also the procedural and conceptual knowledge, which was found in their answer formulations. Terezín diaries in project teaching

This Diploma thesis deals with the use of diaries from the Terezín Ghetto in project teaching. Their use should be made through a series of worksheets designed for project teaching. The benefits and success of worksheets were tested on several groups of elementary and secondary schools. The first chapter is devoted to theoretical introduction to the issue of projects and project-based teaching, the following chapter discusses the history of Terezín, the third chapter deals with the Terezín diaries and their authors, in the fourth chapter are placed excerpts of diaries with the relevant historical context. Into the last chapter are included worksheets created on the basis of excerpts from the diaries, their solutions and evaluation for their success by students. The last pages are devoted to the work attachment list and a list of references and online resources. The work demonstrates that diaries are a good source for creating worksheets about everyday life in the Terezín Ghetto and that they bring to learning new ways of work and wider view of the issues being discussed.

The diploma thesis Project teaching in Geometry in the primary school concerns with the theory of the project teaching and its further realization in practise. He points out today how teachers use teaching project and whether it properly understand The theoretical part characterizes the historical development of the project teaching, defines the terms connected with this teaching. The theoretical part is based on studied literature and is complemented by practical experience. In the practical part are three projects focused on geometry. Projects were realized with the students of the fifth class in the primary school in Nymburk. In the diploma thesis are also records their implementation, the final self-reflection and evaluation of project benefits for students.
