"For You Page" on social network TikTok as a sexual bulletin board for young people
Chmelíková, Daniela ; Rosenfeldová, Jana (advisor) ; Háša, Marek (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the social network TikTok and its video content, especially on content with sexual overtones, themes or excessive disclosure. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the definition of sexual content, the social networks themselves and TikTok, their functioning, as well as the relationship of adolescents to the mentioned social network. The practical part, using quantitative content analysis, confirmed the considerable representation of sexual subtext in hundreds of short videos published on the TikTok platform. These videos were featured on a profile that was set to 16 years of age. Analysis also examined the subject matter of the videos, the level of clothing and sexual speech.
Social media algorithms in Czech media literacy
Kořenář, Patrik ; Wolák, Radim (advisor) ; Supa, Markéta (referee)
Transition from mass media to new media is closely tied to a number of societal and technological changes. Global social media platforms are dominating both consumption and production of media content and doing so they employ series of complex technologies, e.g. algorithms. Delegation of labour from humans to these complex systems (in recent years operating on basis of machine learning) has serious influence on many aspects of individual life and processes inside a society itself. In this work we analyse function and influence of social media algorithms and we try to find out if and to what extend is this information transfered into media literacy of high school students in Czech republic. We come to a worrying conclusion that despite its massive influence in contemporary media landscape, the topic of social media algorithms in Czech media literacy and media education is basically absent.
Granery in Slaný
Pániková, Natália ; Valový, Přemysl (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
ANNOTATION The task of the bachelor's thesis was to verify the possibility of using a listed Baroque granary in the town of Slaný in the Kladno region for the needs of local residents. By analyzing the place in the context of the city and the wider environment, I came to the conclusion that it is worth preserving the granary in its majestic form for future generations. The possible overuse of the functional use of the old granary beyond the borders of the region is expected in the future. It is also considered with the possibility of conversion to current needs and use in the future. The granary has always been here for the local people and as long as it stands, it will continue to complement the unmistakable character of the city.
Journalist as a user of social networking site Facebook: self-expression and professional ethics
Peterová, Barbora ; Švelch, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Jirků, Jan (referee)
The Facebook social network has become quite a phenomenon in recent years. Now journalists have profiles there, both on private and "fan" pages, i.e. pages started by someone else for promoting the person in question. In connection with this, we encounter a new ethical issue-the journalist's statements on this social network. Some media-or their editors-in- chief-have already reacted to this phenomenon by issuing a set of rules of behavior on social networks. Yet there were a few cases (not just on the Czech media scene) where a journalist's unethical statement on the Facebook social network was criticized. The aim of this thesis is to determine whether editorial staff of printed newspapers and television channels have rules for journalists' statements on the Facebook social network, whether editors-in-chief check if these rules are complied with and whether the journalists themselves try to comply with existing rules, or set down their own code as to the subject and manner of their expression on the social network. Another issue is, of course, how many of the journalists surveyed have their own profile on the Facebook social network, or how many of them had their profile pages started by their fans. In my thesis, I would also like to at least suggest an answer to the question to what extent is the...
Social Network from the Perspective of Surveillance Theory
Janda, Martin ; Balon, Jan (advisor) ; Fišer, Josef (referee)
The paper concentrates on the general trend of extending the surveillance as it is nicely captured in the case of online social network Facebook. The text emphasized the omnipresence and hidden techniques used for mining of personal data, as depicted on the phenomenon of consumer surveillance. Data kept in the in databases create a virtual image of an individual that subsequently replaces him in the cyberspace, which leads to discrimination of the individual due to an unequal access to products and information. On introducing the surveillant assemblage the paper shows how the modern surveillance has multiple sources and its object can be anyone who is browsing the internet. Main source for the analysis are the works of Surveillance Studies, most prominently the Canadian sociologist David Lyon. The work centers on defining what part of social sciences field in the age of IT technologies occupies the panopticon - the key concept of surveillance studies - and what new aspects of surveillance are appearing in the society thanks to the development of internet and especially the social networks.

Mácha, Petr ; Čermák, Miloš (advisor) ; Osvaldová, Barbora (referee)
The dominant part of this work is entitlement of the main ethical issues related to the participation of journalists in social networks. Emphasis is placed on the effects of hazardous or otherwise forming a journalist's reputation when he is moving in this new public space and also to study the effect of the technology itself - raising some ethical dilemmas (through the concepts of Web data mining, automatic language processing). As an ethical standard and a tool for the description was chosen selection of international and Czech editorial codes and codes of journalistic associations. Problematic actions are identified in such ontology. Statistical survey of the present work will map the participation rate of Czech journalists on Facebook.

The role of the traditional festivals (matsuri) in modern Japan
Valková, Henrieta ; Sýkora, Jan (advisor) ; Tirala, Martin (referee)
Traditional Japanese festivals matsuri used to play an important role in the annual cycle of Japanese agricultural communities. They marked special days outside of the everyday order, reserved for relaxation and for prayers to deities who were believed to have influence over the quality of the crops. However, with the beginning of the modern period in Japanese history, the agricultural community that used to form the core of Japanese society began to dissolve and with that changed also the perception of festivals. The aim of this thesis is, through illustrating various factors and analyzing available as well as my own statictical data, to find the answer to the question of what role such slávnosťs play in modern Japanese society. At the end of my thesis I will present a case study of the Gion matsuri, that has been held almost without interruption for more than a thousand years. Key words: Japanese culture, traditional festivals, matsuri, Gion matsuri, social ties, commercialization

The present work starts with study of past and current methods from the field of analysis and visualization of social networks. Selected methods are then described in detail. Following part is devoted to research of current software. Selected applications are tested and evaluated according to their capability of showing a development in dynamic social networks -- networks with temporal data. Based on these researches an application is designed and implemented. This application can be used for analysis and visualization of a development of dynamic networks in time. Finally, the application is tested on co-authorship social network by means of the bibliographic database of scientific papers DBLP. The work also presents the results of the experiments with implemented algorithms.
