Life stories and career paths of School Headmasters

This theoretical-empirical thesis focuses on the life and career path of experienced School Principals of Preschools and Elementary Schools in Czech Republic and what the School Principal position is about. The theoretical part brings a closer look on an explanation of life and career path, summarisation of knowledge of the work of the School Principal itself including its competence and management skills, which are necessary to provide flawless run of every school. The empiric part presents the results of qualitatively oriented research. The main method of the data collection is in-depth semi-structured interview led by the School Principals, the supplementary data were gained from the analysis of publicly accessible documents, especially inspection reports, and by supplementary interviews with Deputy School Principals or with the founders. The research sample is very wide even though it consists of only three respondents - the Principal of Elementary School, the Principal of Preschool and the Principal of school combining Preschool and a first grade of Elementary School. The Support of the Quality of the Management of Schools and Educational Facilities with the Municipalities in the Founding Roles

This thesis deals with the topic of school authorities support of schools and educational facilities quality management. The thesis describes roles and responsibilities of headmasters and school authorities, and their mutual relationship. It summarizes the findings concerning school management, education quality, and highlights the importance of education, including the support headmasters receive from the municipality. Questionnaires, structured interviews, document analysis and observation were used to describe the state of the support by school authorities and the satisfaction of the headmasters with the support provided. The dependence of the support scope on the type of municipality, the type and size of the school or education facility, the term of office, and gender was also tracked. Despite the fact that certain tendencies and partial matches were perceived, it was stated that providing and receiving support is considerably individual. The thesis can be used as a basis for further research with the aim of designing better support mechanisms in order to improve the quality of work of headmasters and school authorities. It could help them realize their possibilities and needs, as well as better understanding their own roles.

The aim is to suggest and verify a model suitable for analyzing the influence of the headmaster on pupils' educational results. The basic research question is the following: "How can we analyze the relationship between pupils' educational results and various aspects of work of the headmaster?" The objective was achieved by the following manner. At first, they were defined by means of the educational results of pupils in the theoretical part and, based on the study of foreign resources, the fields of work of the headmasters that have an influence on pupils' educational results were listed. Human resources management in terms of public and private secondary schools

The theoretical and empirical work focuses on human resources management with the aim to capture and analyze for a selected sample of heads of public and private secondary schools information on specific human resource management in educational organizations, focusing on possible differences in approach to human resource management according to the legal form of these schools. In the theoretical part, attention is focused on the key concepts of human resources management focusing on educational organizations. The research part uses a theoretical-empirical method to answer the research three questions, which includes an analysis of the literature and a research consisting of semi-structured interviews with three selected principals of secondary public schools and three principals of secondary private schools, two management tests, ČŠI inspection reports and analysis of documents of these schools. The research findings are assessed mainly in terms of the legal form of the school, while the specifics of human resource management related to the aspect are identified. Headmaster's competency at secondary technical schools with technical focus

The diploma thesis deals with the current topic of headmaster's competence at secondary vocational schools, technically oriented. The thesis is based on the general theory of competencies and competency models. It aims to identify the headmaster's competencies at the technical vocational school in Prague and based on these findings create the competence model. On the basis of the literature search, a research was carried out, its purpose was to find out what competences the those people possess, i.e. to identify these competencies and to compile a competence model. The questionnaire survey technique was used as the first, data collection technique. Within the questionnaire survey, all headmasters and deputy headmasters were approached at 15 secondary technical schools in Prague. The third group of respondents was consisted of the founder of these schools. Through the questionnaire survey, we determined the importance of individual competencies. The second used technique was a semi-structured interview with selected representatives of respondent groups (headmasters and deputy headmasters). Professional Qualification of Pedagogical Staff of Elementary and Secondary Schools in relation to the Long-term Plan for Education and Development of the Educational System of the Czech Republic

This thesis deals with current qualifying requirements on pedagogical workers working at primary and secondary schools in context of component goals achievement given by Education Policy Strategy 2020. It is devided into two parts. The teoretical part is devoted to amendments to Act n. 563/2004 (Act on Educational Workers) from the perspective of legal claims to professional qualification of pedagogical workers and searches connects with component goals defined in Education Policy Strategy 2020 and other curricural documents. It captures possible pitfalls of providing skilled pedagogical workers that follow from regional situation on the labor market and describes possibilities of their solutions includinng opinions of control members especially Czech School Inspection. It defines goverment priorities in relation to the teaching profession. The research part compares availability of skilled pedagogical workers in parts of two Czech Republic regions where there is assumption of different potential on labor market. Headmaster in the role of manager, comparation of the situation in the Czech Republic and Republic Belarus

The bachelor thesis deals with the implementation of theoretical knowledge in the day-to-day decision-making process of the headmaster in the Czech Republic and Belarus based on the study of the information obtained. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to formulate identical and different characteristics of the activities of the headmaster in the role of manager in the Czech Republic and Belarus. This work, with regard to research questions, should show in detail the differences in the approach to managerial work of the headmaster in the conditions of the Czech Republic and Belarus with regard to legislation, customs and experience. The bachelor thesis examines the director's personal profile as a manager with all aspects of managerial work and determines the work of a manager with human resources in the primary school environment of both countries. The theoretical part summarizes the knowledge concerning the work of the headmaster in the Czech and Belarusian environment and verifies the predicted model by research in the school field.
