Design and Implementation of a Profiler for ASIPs
Richtarik, Pavel ; Hynek, Jiří (referee) ; Zachariášová, Marcela (advisor)
The major objective of this work is to analyse possibilities of profiling application specific instruction-set processors, to explore some common profiling techniques and to use the collected information to design and implement a new profiling tool suitable for utilization in the processors development and optimization. This bachelor thesis presents requirements on the new profiler and describes its key parts from the design and the implementation perspective.
Profiling of Non-Core Part of Security System
Špaček, Petr ; Michal, Bohumil (referee) ; Kašpárek, Tomáš (advisor)
The thesis is focused on identifying and eliminating performance problems in the security system "AVG Server Edition 8.5 for Linux/FreeBSD", which is used for filtering SMTP traffic. It includes explanation of the principle of SMTP proxy filter and of the interconnection between AVG and the Postfix mail system. It describes methodology of testing, sample designing, measurement and data evaluation. Several performance problems were found and steps to eliminate them were carried out. Suggested optimization was tested and found effective.
Performance Evaluation of Graphics Accelerator
Dvořák, Milan ; Šolony, Marek (referee) ; Jošth, Radovan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with a performance evaluation of graphics accelerators. Properties of the current graphics accelerators and existing solutions for evaluating their performance are summarized. An own methodology for performance evaluation is proposed and the implementation of an OpenGL aplication with GLUT and GLEW libraries is described. In the last part, several graphic cards are tested, the influence of various factors is examined, and the measured results are discussed.
Automatic Searching of Instruction Extensions for Application Processors
Češka, Martin ; Křoustek, Jakub (referee) ; Masařík, Karel (advisor)
This thesis deals with the process of automatic searching of instruction-set extensions for application-specific instruction-set processors. This process uses slightly edited ISEGEN algorithm. At first, all important terms including this algorithm are described. Then there is a detailed description of implementation of whole process in C++ programming language. At last, newly created program is considered as useful or useless based on speed-up of processor at performing of input program using found extensions.
Graphics Application in Python Using OpenGL
Szentandrási, István ; Kršek, Přemysl (referee) ; Navrátil, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this work was to study the possibilities of the Python programming language in computer graphics and to determine its competence in this field. To achieve this the cross platform Python binding to OpenGL and related APIs, PyOpenGL was used to create a demo, and compare it in many ways to an implementation of the demo using the standard OpenGL C API. As the result Python was found in average twice as slow as the alternative C~demo and using much more CPU~load. Because of this fact PyOpenGL is not advisable in professional applications. On the other hand Python has an extensive standard library, very useful specialized libraries, simpler syntax, which makes it ideal to use in education.
HW Acceleration of Network Unix Tools
Bartoš, Peter ; Martínek, Tomáš (referee) ; Kořenek, Jan (advisor)
In the world, there always appear faster technologies for network communication. Some network tools are not capable of working in high-speed, they are overloading system, therefore they are not able to fulfill their functions. They can not fully monitor the whole traffic and ensure secured services. Thesis analyses network tools, their operations and researches critical spaces for future hardware acceleration. In this context, it introduces effective hardware programming platforms. Using measurements, it evaluates the limits of the tools and mentions the possibilities of acceleration, which are suggested for another thesis.
Data Profiling Using IPFIX Mediator
Kozubík, Michal ; Bartoš, Václav (referee) ; Kořenek, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with the network data profiling using IPFIX mediator. The main task is effective data filtering and configurable profiles management. The profiles management is still not available for IPFIX mediator, which makes analysis of network traffic for users more difficult. Therefore this thesis deals with the design and implementation of configurable profiles management as a plug-in for IPFIX mediator. The plug-in uses profiles hierarchy with filtering rules for data sorting.
Risk Management of Bank Credit System and Decision Making Process
Skovajsa, Radek ; Kryštof, Zdeněk (referee) ; Čižinská, Romana (advisor)
The theoretical part of this thesis describes the development of Czech banking sector, especially with emphasis on post-revolutionary rebirth within the new conditions of market economy. The following part demonstrates the decision-making credit account process of a bank on a particular case study based on the methodics and procedures leading up to maximal elimination of credit risk. At the same time, the author presents a partially modified internal opinion on a decision of particular business transaction. It is accented that every decision of a bank must comply with the regulations of CNB. The conclusion of the thesis affirms the maximal efforts of domestic banks to minimalize risks within their decision-making credit account processes, which is mirrored in current stability in the development of Czech banking sector.
Personal data and personalization issues
Farafonov, Gerasim ; Sigmund, Tomáš (advisor) ; Pavlíček, Antonín (referee)
Society is currently finding itself in the middle of an information revolution, and only now begins to realize this fact. The primary currency in the new economy is user data and the enormous value is evident only to companies doing business with them. This thesis is dedicated to the protection of personal data in the context of the currently developing trend of personalization. Author sets out tools that make online tracking possible, compares the legislative regulation of the Czech Republic, the Russian Federation and the United States of America, evaluating the differences, trends, strengths and weaknesses in relation to the practice of creating profiles and behavioural targeting advertising. Subsequently, the author lists the additional risks of this trend for the freedom and privacy, lists general recommendations as well as recommendations for the users themselves to maximize the protection of privacy and personal data.
Data Quality Audit Methodology
Kotek, Aleš ; Slánský, David (advisor) ; Pour, Jan (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to summarize and to describe all available know-how and experiences of Adastra employees related to Data Quality Audit in organization. The entire thesis should serve as a guideline for sales and implementation staff within the Adastra Corp. The first part of this thesis (chapter 2 and 3) is generally concerned with Data Quality, i.e. provides various definitions of Data Quality, points out importance/relevance of Data Quality in organization and describes the most important tools and Data Quality Management Solutions. The second part (chapter 4 and 5) uses the theoretical basis of the previous chapters and form the main methodical part of this thesis. Chapter 4 is rather focused on business/sales side, defines the most important terms and used principles, and is considered as a necessary precondition for correct understanding following chapter. Chapter 5 shows detailed procedures of Data Quality Audit. Single activities are written in a standardized form to ensure clear, accurate and brief step description. The result of this thesis is the most detailed description of Data Quality Audit in Adastra Corp. including all identified services/products.
