Alternative drives of cars
Wachal, Ondřej ; Dvořák, Antonín (advisor) ; Hadrabová, Alena (referee)
My diploma thesis deals with alternative drive cars that are still more popular these times. Due to limited supplies of oil fields car factories turn their attention to the development of alternative drives, which would be independent of exhaustible resources. The aim of the work will mainly compare the economic efficiency of current alternative fuel vehicles, where belong hybrid drives, electric drives, but also a unit for compressed gas or biofuels, to the current conventional drives. This comparison will be done from the perspective of the end consumer who will decide on the purchase of alternative drive mainly because of its indicating cost savings. Another important part of the evaluation is whether alternative fuels are actually more environmentally friendly and are actually counted all the costs. For this analysis I will provide a variety of specialized studies dealing with the issue of alternative propulsion friendliness to the environment.

AnotaceEN Petr Limburský: Tři kapitoly z problematiky konce eneolitu a počátku starší doby bronzové ve střední Evropě. / Three chapters from the Late Aeneolithic and the EarlyBronze Age Transition in the Central Europe/ Encompassing the inconsistence of period of the Late Aenelithic and beginnings of the Early Bronze Age that has been widely discussed in its entirety in the literature is limited on one side by the detailed analyses of archaeological materia! at the levels of regions or find collections, and by the existence of supra-regiona! models and interpretative schemes on the other. By using detailed insights into the above-mentioned issues, the submitted thesis can draw its attention mainly to the topics of chronology based on Radiocarbon dating, testimony of change of the grave equipment in the observed period of time, and properties of burial inventories. Moreover, results of field excavations conducted by the author of so-far the most extensive cemetery of the Bell- Beaker culture in Bohemia at Vlíněves, Mělník district, have been a!so introduced and utilized in this thesis. Three distinct milestones can be highlighted in development of the Radiocarbon dating method. Without questions, the fust one is represented by the enforcement of credibility, applicability, and relative universality of this...

Satire in Classical Arabic Poetry
Pletichová, Anna ; Ondráš, František (advisor) ; Oliverius, Jaroslav (referee)
Satirical poetry is generally considered as a one of the most important genres of the classical Arabic literature. Genre of poetry was in the pre-Islamic and early Islamic society highly appreciated and the Arabs used to regard it as the only form of the real literature. Unlike prose which was limited to the folklore and educational literature esteemed the Arabs poetry as a real art expression and the poet hold also very strong position within the traditional Arab society. Arabic satirical poetry is believed to grow up from curses and lampoons declaimed by traditional Arab wizards, kāhins, and due to the fact that faith in the power of word was still very deeply rooted in people's minds, Arabic satirical poetry was ascribed a very good reputation. The development of society after the rise of Islam also had a very strong impact upon the function of traditional genres of the Arabic poetry. From its original function of discouraging and threating enemies satirical poetry developed into the means of poet's subsistence, political propaganda and society entertainment. Arabic satirical poetry became an independent genre of art. This thesis deals with the origin and the development of Arabic satirical poetry from its emergence in the pre-Islamic period until it reached its peak during the reign of Umayyad...

Topical issues of the regulation of international air transport
Vlčková, Lenka ; Pauknerová, Monika (advisor) ; Kučera, Zdeněk (referee)
Current issues in regulation of international carriage by air - Summary The purpose of my thesis is to analyze the basic questions relating to international carriage by air. This term provides a wide range of situations and possible scenarios but I have primarily focused on the liability of carriers and liability limits. Thanks to the quick progression and technological improvements to which the transportation by air of past years had to face, this issue gained very fast an international character. The air law community was forced to handle the newly born task of coming issues as soon as possible. Warsaw Convention 1929 was the first uniform instrument which offered an acceptable body of rules governing the liability of carriers in international carriage by air and became a guarantee for passengers. But because its provisions regarding the liability quit promptly did not meet the practical needs of the modern air world, additional protocols and conventions started to operate in this field as the result of those old-fashioned provisions and sometimes too much extended requirements on transport documents. The main problems of the frontier Convention were too much protective provisions of airlines. Montreal convention is the main international instrument of these days bringing certainty into the principles of...

Zabadal, Radim ; Neusarová, Jana (referee) ; Šerák, Michal (advisor)
In recent years, the term experiential pedagogy has been quite often used in connection with the educational practice as a counterpart to frontal teaching. The main aim of this thesis is to explore experiential pedagogy methods and their application in pedagogic and andragogic profession. This paper deals with evolution of this method in our country as well as globally, which is vital for comprehension of the way in which the method is applied and developed in the Czech Republic. Crucial is the inner division of the method according to the way and the extent to which the experience transfers into participant's own life experience. The work with experience transfer differs significantly within the scope of educational profession. This paper points out possible advantages of the methods, the ways to use them but also the limits and risks of their real- life application. The character of this thesis is mostly that of the theoretical scope of experiential teaching with regard to its practical use.

Data compression in ORACLE database system and it's impact on performance
Vacek, Martin ; Macák, Petr (advisor) ; Chlapek, Dušan (referee)
In present day, when magnitude of user generated content rises (web 2.0 technology) and important becomes also the role of multimedial content which is wanted to be stored within DBMS, the space saving turns to be a challenge for back-end developers on the side of providers as well as for database administrators on the side of their clients. How to store, manage and process data effectively led Oracle to research and development of several technologies that are to help DBA in resolving up to date's data distribution requirements for endusers. For instance, let's name clustered tables, partitioned tables, data compression. Each of these technologies comes with different approach to the problem, has it's pros, cons and limitations and sometimes it is possible to combine them at some level. In this thesis I concentrate on the last forenamed and its implementation in database system Oracle 11g Enterprise Edition R1. Basically it consists of two alternatives of data compression application. One of them already implemented in previous version - Oracle 9i EE R2 and the second one -- separately licensed -- newly introduced along with version 11g that consists of compression functions package for various data structures and operations. By means of theoretic analysis of functionality, benchmark definition, running several tests and their interpretation I route this thesis to possible practical use in decision making, when to apply compression, when to avoid it, eventually as a starting point for additional testing within the scope of more extensive theses further unraveling this topic.

Terminal classroom with LTSP
Pěnka, Michal ; Pavlíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Palovský, Radomír (referee)
The purpose of this work is to find out whether it is possible to implement the Linux Terminal Server Project (LTSP) on production systems such as schools, offices etc. LTSP is an open sourced system for distributing the Linux-based operating systems to limited number of thin clients using common TCP/IP networks, Small computer laboratory network, used mainly for educational purposes, is chosen for the installation, configuration and testing of the LTSP and the additional subsidiary courseware. After reading following text, reader should be informed firstly about the history, future development and use cases of the LTSP and secondly should be able to install, configure and implement similar solution in TCP/IP networks.
