The analysis of river network evolution in Ethiopian Highland
Maca, Vít ; Vilímek, Vít (advisor) ; Kliment, Zdeněk (referee)
Ethiopian highlands is one of the most various tectonic areas in the world. It lies in close proximity to Ethiopian rift system in areas with volcanic landscape. As the main factors involved in development of river networks have been identified: volcanism, tectonics, erosion. The most important factor is the erosion, that work pays closer. Using the methods of remote sensing, GIS analysis and documenting the longitudinal and transverse river profiles were surveyed area of differentiation in the types of river networks, deep of river valleys, geological strata, etc. GIS and remote sensing analysis provided more supporting data. Crucial is the analysis of the longitudinal profiles. Five rivers was profiled: Guder, Muger, Jemma, Birr, Blue Nile. Knickpoints in profiles were identified and were divided into three types according to the majority factor involved in the formation: Active uplift entire Ethiopian highlands which activizate river erosion, active uplift smaller areas, lithological. Crucial for next outputs are knickpoints linked to active uplift entire Ethiopian Highland. Lokalization of thats, were profiles divided into subprofiles, representing phasis of erosion development of entire area. During the past 31 million years, were identified 3 phases with increasing incision rates. Furthermore,...

Digitalization, metadata description and metadata formats
Hutař, Jan ; Kalkus, Stanislav (advisor) ; Bratková, Eva (referee) ; Sklenák, Vilém (referee)
(EN) This thesis is dedicated to the processes of digitization and metadata description, as well as the links that connect them. In recent years, another topic has been becoming relevant for both mentioned processes - the logical long-term preservation of digital objects. Long-term preservation is dependent on metadata and therefore on the processes of digitization, when some important metadata is created. The first introductory chapter of the thesis briefly describes, with an emphasis on metadata, digitization and theoretical and practical problems of long-term preservation of digital objects. The OAIS reference framework is also analysed, since it is the background for digital preservation and present preservation metadata standards. OAIS is also important for the shape and functionality of digital repositories. Metadata is also the topic of the next chapter of the thesis. General metadata use and its development are discussed, with emphasis on administrative, technical and preservation metadata. The following chapter focuses on the use of metadata in the National Library of the Czech Republic. It describes the evolution during two periods leading up to the present. This section includes comments on how long-term preservation has been reflected in used metadata standards. The second-to-last part...

Structural basis of cell invasion
Hrčkulák, Dušan ; Novotný, Marian (advisor) ; Hájková, Zuzana (referee)
Mezenchymal migration strategy is a mode of individual cell invasion, along with an ameboid migration strategy. It is dependent on cell adhesion structures formation and traction forces generation. This work is focused on integrin-mediated cell to extracellular matrix connections called focal adhesions. Focal adhesions are very complex and comprise of many proteins. The clusters of integrin dimers make up the focal adhesion core that binds extracellular matrix. Their intracellular domains indirectly interact with actin stress fibres throught plaque proteins talin and vinculin. Focal adhesion assembly is force dependent and its commponents turnover is also regulated by focal adhesion kinase and prolin-rich tyrosin kinase 2. These kinases are probably recruited to focal adhesions by paxillin and then linked to signaling complexes by adaptor proteins as p130Cas. The 3D structure is what defines the options of interaction among participating proteins. Therefore, this work summarizes 3D structures of six proteins of interest, deals with their interactions and impact on focal adhesions. PDB codes of all available structures of these six proteins are enclosed.

On the nesting phenomenon in a bilingual dictionary
Šemelík, Martin ; Berglová, Eva (referee) ; Vachková, Marie (advisor)
dictionary. Crucially, the thesis deals with the question, which of the ways of ordering entries, the alphabetical order or nesting, will be more advantageous to the supposed addressee group of a new German-Czech Academic Dictionary (GDTAW). Besides strictly linguistic points of view, factors such as the user aspect and usefulness are given special attention in this thesis. The analysis shows that the alphabetical order of entries might be more useful to the users of the new dictionary than the nesting or other types of regroupment. As a result, the author focuses on how to indicate word-formation links in dictionaries with a strictly alphabetical macrostructure. In connection with this, the thesis presents an analysis of selected bilingual and monolingual dictionaries.

Rösslerová, Klára ; Vlasák, Rudolf (advisor) ; Sklenák, Vilém (referee) ; Drobíková, Barbora (referee)
This dissertation focuses on the data exchange bibliographic formats that have been used in the libraries since the 1960s. There have not been many changes over the decades although librarians have been calling for them. Since the beginning of the new millennium, there has been a growing pressure for change. The aim of this dissertation is to try to summarize the activities in this field and to outline possible future development. The formats used in the past and in the present are analysed in the first part. It is possible to predict the future development on the basis of the analysis of individual projects and on the basis of surveys. The results of the analysis suggest that these activities are headed to a linked data publication model that preserves the current cataloguing procedures. Keywords: exchange formats, bibliographic data, MARC format, MARC 21 format, linked data, BIBFRAME, Schema.org, cataloguing

Methodology for website localization from the perspective of webdesign
Čermák, Radim ; Doucek, Petr (advisor) ; Strossa, Petr (referee) ; Hřebíček, Jiří (referee) ; Dědič, Filip (referee)
Internet and websites are today one of the most important communication channels of almost all companies. They offer a simple, fast and effective way of communication, which is also available worldwide in a few seconds. With the globalization of market, more and more companies try to expand their business beyond the territory of the home state. In the current time of start-ups is the Internet also often a medium that allows formation of new spheres of business for which the website is absolutely essential channel. This type of business is internet based and has very often international ambitions from the very beginning. Given that each country (or region) can be seen as distinctive culture, it is advisable to locate websites for the needs of the foreign country. This is exactly the theme of this thesis. The concrete objective of this thesis is to offer a methodology for website localization in terms of webdesign. The basic building block is the delimitation of a multidisciplinary theoretical framework that examines the concept of culture and extensive literature review allowing current insight into the linking of website and culture, i.e. cultural website localization. Suitable method for gripping such a complex concept as a culture emerge from a theoretical framework as well. As the most appropriate method were determined Hofstedes cultural dimensions, which are then used for the analysis of cultural determination of web elements. Data collection for the purpose of analysis of web elements cultural determination is performed using a content analysis of websites from nine different countries. The results of the analysis are compared and synthesized with the findings stemming from a literature review. The final artifact of this thesis, a methodology for website localization from the perspective of web design, is based on this ground. Validation of the proposed methodology is done on the basis of assessment of the methodology for a domain of web design. This assessment is based on interviews with experts from different countries as well as presentation of concrete example of methodology use within a midsize website.
