The influence of the social background on the tobacco smoking among high-school students

Despite an extended knowledge of harmfulness of tobacco smoking a large share of the population still smokes. Most of the people begin to smoke during their adolescence and they become addicted to nicotine before reaching adulthood. This paper focuses on tobacco smoking among the teenagers. The main point is the social influence on teenage smoking behaviour. However, it is also important to understand the problem of smoking as a multidisciplinary issue. In the theoretical part the paper gives information on health consequences of smoking, it aims at the physical, psychical and social aspects of the addiction to tobacco smoking above all. The main sociological theories relevant to the topic of smoking among teenagers are the theory of socialization, reference groups and a wide group of social deviation theories.

The role of text in grammar school ELT

The aim of this study is to examine students' opmwns and approaches to texts in the present-day textbooks of English. Special attention is paid to the contents of texts, length and language difficulty. Texts are closely connected with illustrational material and general attitudes towards textbooks. Following the above mentioned criteria, the students' ideas of modern English textbook were found out. The theoretical part offers a detailed insight into the subject matter whose components are textbook theory and the skill of reading. Texts, their types, functions and roles are viewed from pedagogy perspective as well as critical thinking in English language teaching. There is also a chapter on psychological characteristics of adolescents since the thesis focuses on this specific age group. The practical part deals with the data that were gathered by means of questionnaires. Their processing is preceded by general information on planning and carrying out the research. The results are summarized in the concluding part. The appendices provide text samples that are suggested for practical usage. The practical result of this thesis was replacement of textbooks at one of the grammar schools involved. Almost half-a-year practice has proved the change beneficial for the general improvement of English language teaching...

The group buying phenomenon - factors leading to it's popularity and consumer position on the daily deals market from the user perspective

This bachelor thesis is focused on a phenomenon of group-buying on daily deals websites, especially then on the factors leading to it's popularity and the consumer position on the daily deals market. The topic is viewed from the user perspective, which the author tries to get to by way of a qualitative research. The author relies on the sociological theory of the consumer society in which she tries to find the roots of the successfully spreading of popularity of the discused phenomenon. As well author draws on there the theoretical background for a topic of consumer position on the daily deals market. Causes of spreading out are researched by a force of an exploration of motivation factors leading users to buy there. On that account there are as well described the theoretical conceptions of motivation and needs in brief. Author conducted a series of semistructured interview in which she emphasised the meanings that the users attach to the particular action. The analytical part of thesis connects main causes of spreading out of phenomenon, theoretically grounded in the theories of consumer society, with a typical aspects of this rather new way of internet shopping and consequent consume. The second topic, the own consumer-user view on their position on this market, is discused as well there.

Importance of Physiotherapy in Gerontopsychiatry

The subject of this work is application of physiotherapy at gerothopsychiatric patients, the image of care of geronthopsychiatric patient on inpatient department and at after-care facilities (facilities, that are providing respite care and day care). In form of casuistry it is describing process and results of individual physiotherapy of polymorbidic patient with organic anxious disorder and schizoaffective disorder of depressive type, of which during exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease had occurred deterioration of motivity, for which she has to be hospitalized on internal ward. The work briefly characterizes fields of gerontology, geriatrics and gerothopsychiatry that deal with problems of seniors. It refers to theory of aging and physiological changes in the old age. It is concerning the most common geriatric problems like instability, imobility, problems with urinary incontinence, intelect disorders and iatrogenic harm of the patient. It indicates the most common mental disorders in the old age, which are cognitive disorders including dementia, delirium and depression also. Furthermore the work is devoted to effects of locomotion on organism and to possibilities of physiotherapy at gerothopsychiatric patients, to possibilities of individual locomotion therapy and group therapeutic...

A Didactic Game as a Means of Opening Up the World of Geometry

The goal of the diploma dissertation is to introduce a game with geometrical object as a probable part of lessons focused on teaching solid geometry. This activity is a possibility how, according to valid school standards, we can set up the view to geometrical world through manipulation with concrete objects build conception of perceiving solids and their parts. The thesis also summarises theory about methods of teaching, analyses experiments that were done with primary school children and describes phenomenon visible and obvious when adopting such activity to lessons.

Employee motivation and benefits

The topic of my bachelor's thesis is the employee motivation and benefits. The thesis is divided in two parts, a theoretical one and a practical one. The theoretical part deals with the theory of motivation and individual employee benefits. The practical part describes employee benefits in ČSOB, where I did my research by questionnaires that were filled in by employees from different departments of ČSOB. These employees answered questions about their work motivation and benefits. The resultts are presented in graphs and with a comments.

Analysis of the church sermons in the SDA Church of the Slovak Republic pointing to the questions of the quality of life

Thesis is dealing with analysis of the church sermons in the SDA Church of the Slovak Republic (further just SDA Church). The aim of the thesis is to evaluate and to analyse the qualitative requirements of the sacral sermon directed at the quality of life. Thesis is divided to a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part defines quality of life and its requirements of life regarding tridimensionality of a human. The practical part carries out analysis of the sacral sermons samples of the SDA Church and the project survey performed by questionnaires. The author analyses fifty sermons of the SDA Church and surveys the living condition of the homiletic area with the concern on the questions of the quality of life. The results are compared with the theory and in the end there are stimuli reported for the contemporary homiletic practise.

1 Abstract: This thesis is entitled "Selected topics from the educational theme A human and his world; explored employing the methods and techniques of Drama In Education." The first section explores the theory. It not only deals with Drama In Education; its content, principles, form, methods, and planning; but also what a teacher of drama should be; the characteristics of children in the early years of education; the assessment of drama; and of course the theme - A human and his world. The practical section describes the elements of a range of methods and contains individual lesson script. Each lesson is underpinned by a particular method. This section goes on to deal with assigned goals; their verification in practice; and finally, conclusions drawn from the implementation of the planned lessons. In designed lessons I used selected methods and techniques of structured drama and preparatoried games and exercises. I found out that very different topics from this educational theme A Human and his world can be worked up by methods and techniques of drama education because I suggested different topics from this educational theme and I verified them in practice.

Critical view of balance sheet in French financial reporting

The main objective of this thesis is to evaluate the explanatory power of the balance sheet based on French accouting regulation. The first part deals with the general theory of accounting and financial reporting regulation, factors influencing national regulation, form and objectives of financial reporting, with focus on the balance sheet. The second part deals with the French legislative sources for accounting and financial reporting. The third part introduces the definition, structure and method of valuation of assets and liabilities based on French regulation. The fourth and fifth parts are devoted to the profit and loss account and the notes to the financial statements in accordance with French law. The last section contains an analysis of financial statements of a real company, and on this basis explanatory power of balance sheet is evaluated.
