World of Cerebral Palsy
Kudláček, Miroslav ; Kabele, Jiří (advisor) ; Titzl, Boris (referee)
- Miroslav Kudláček "World of Cerebral Palsy" The aim of this project is to describe a process how people suffering from Cerebral palsy are getting to know their own disability. It is characteristic for this disease that its first symptoms develop not later than one year after the birth. So if follows that this man/child does not have a chance to gain any kind of experience of what it means "to be healthy". Therefore his point of view as far as his disability is concerned is completely different from those people who, for example, have had a car accident. The paper therefore intends to deal with a cognitive process how such disabled individuals cope with this problem. Theoretical part will be based on social constructivism (Berger, Luckmann, Kabele) and Piaget's "psychology of development". Methodological part should consist of interviews with people with Cerebral palsy which they will analyzed by concept Grounded Theory.

PACALOVÁ, JANA. Clients Satisfaction of Early Intervention Programm in the Czech republic today and in the past. Prague: Philosophical Faculty of Charles University in Prague, 2011, 93 pp. Diploma Thesis. In recent years the early intervention program and its forms with new theories and trends attract the attention of the public, the workers from other fields and also the parents themselves of children with disabilities, who appreciate the focus of the program on the family system. In my thesis I was interested in the early intervention in general. I also have dealt with the civic association the Society for Early Intervention program, which is one of the leading organizations in this field in the Czech Republic. The aim is to determine the satisfaction of our clients from the facilities providing comprehensive early intervention program in the Czech Republic for the clients with particular types of disability and compare the present satisfaction of the clients with the satisfaction in 2005. The satisfaction of the clients from facilities providing early intervention is at least five of the eight areas assessed positively and clients satisfaction is higher in 2011 than in 2005 - this is my working hypothesis I want to confirm. For this task I have chosen a quantitative research strategy. As a...

Neighbour in the parables of Luke as motivation for social work with seriously mentally impaired persons
Bačová, Libuše ; Roskovec, Jan (advisor) ; Janečková, Hana (referee)
The present thesis connects two areas of studies: social work and theology. It gathers findings gained in social work targeted to people with mental handicap (with special focus on those with heavy forms of mental handicap), findings from socio-psychological studies of human motivation, and from theological analysis of the Gospel of Luke and its parables, and subsequently it endeavours to interconnect these findings. It pursues therein the question of utilising theological knowledge in forming motivation for engagement in social work. The focusing element of this interdisciplinary thesis is the theologically profiled concept of neighbour, which is eventually brought into relation with motivation to perform social work with the mentioned focus group.

Model of psychological crisis of people with post natal health disabilities
JAŠKOVÁ, Kristýna
Acquired disability is a widely discussed topic nowadays. It must be mentioned that an individual suffering from an acquired disability copes individually with their dificult situation, reacts individually based on their experience, temperament, and thus it is necessary to treat these individuals accordingly. They go through certain phasesof coping with a difficult life situation , and this thesis explains them briefly interpreting different authors. Models are based on the basic model of coping with a difficult situation according to Kübler Ross who primarily focused on dying people and their coping with close death. This model was later on generalized to also include people coping with any burdensome situation in their life. This thesis deals specifically with acquired disability. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to find out how individuals coped with an acquired disability, and to find out whether during this process of coping with a burdensome situation used expert or lay aid. To fulfill the aims, qualitative research was used. To collect data, a semi-standardized interview with four interviewees suffering from different types of acquired disability was used. Interviews were carried out in the individuals´ natural environment. Research results have proven that each individual is an individual being, thus each coped differently, and based on different experience and abilities, with their disabilities. It was also found out that each person did not go through all the stages of a mental crisis model. The research file in this bachelor thesis is very different and variable considering disabilities and other features, that is why it is impossible to draw one final and very clear conclusion. Different stages of mental crisis model that they were going through were indicated in each individual. Each participant used certain aid in crisis. All interviewees used lay aid, i.e. aid from their closest. Two of them used expert aid. The results of my bachelor thesis might serve to deepen information for psychology students, students of nursing or social work subjects. Further, it might be useful for workers in organizations focusing on disabilities or close friends or families of disabled individuals.
