Influence of Computer Games on Aggressive Behaviour of the Pupils of the Older School Age

The diploma work focuses on a topic which is often discussed in the Czech Republic as well as worldwide. The topic in question is the influence of computer games with elements of aggression and violence on aggressive behaviour of teenagers. The work consists of two parts - a theoretical and an empirical one. The theoretical part has four chapters dealing with theoretical knowledge on the subject. In the empirical part the qualitative research strategy was used - questionnaire method and semi structured interview. The research sample consisted of five pupils from the 9th grade of an elementary school. The main aim of the diploma work will be to establish the subjective perception of the influence of computer games with elements of aggression and violence on aggressive behaviour of pupils of older school age. The secondary aim will be establishing the attitudes of the pupils of older school age to violent and aggressive scenes in computer games and mapping the intrusion of computer games into everyday life of pupils from the point of view of computer games preferences and the time they spend playing computer games during the day. Perception of Violence against Different Age Groups of Children at Primary Schools and Eight-year Grammar School

ABSTRACT § Key words: violence, conflict, aggression, cruelty, abuse, neglect, bullying, the perpetrator, the victim, children, adults, seniors, self-harm, suicide In this thesis I would like to focus on how children define violence, what violence includes, how to represent both the offender and victim, what is the difference in the perception of violence against various age groups and how to prevent possible violence. The theoretical part is firstly devoted to the notion of violence or similar terms synonymous to this and to explain them according to Czech and foreign authors. I have then proceeded to topics such as violence against children, adults and seniors, self-harm, suicide and the consequences of violence. In the practical section, I examined the perception of violence among students in primary school compared with students of the same age at a grammar school. I focused on the students of class sixth / ninth grade and first and fourth year of an eight-year grammar school). The survey was not only carried out in schools in the capital city but also in a smaller town.

Aggressive behavior in children with autistic spectrum disorder

The bachelor thesis addresses the aggressive behaviour with children with autism spectrum disorder. A relatively wide range of manifestations of aggressive behaviour can be observed within the diagnoses of autism spectrum disorder. The aim of this thesis was to identify these manifestations along with their appearance rate. The thesis is devided into two parts - a theoretical one and an empirical one. The theoretical part deals with the question of problematic behaviour, mainly aggressive bahaviour. It further describes the autism spectrum disorder, classification of diagnoses, historical development of autism and the so called autism triad of impairments. The empirical part of the thesis presents a research aimed at identification of aggressive behaviour manifestations with children with autism spectrum disorder. The data were collected through a questionaire. The participant group was selected as parents of children with autism spectrum disroder.

Bullying in the lower grades of Elementary school

The thesis deals with the issue of bullying at the primary level of the elementary schools from the point of view of the experienced teachers that have encountered this kind of situations in their practice. The thesis consists of a theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part brings latest news from the foreign and local bibliography. It describes causes, forms, participants of bullying, and there is a comparison of different kinds of solutions. Last but not least it proposes a wide range of preventive methods. The practical part is based on case studies of the interventions of bullying in the primary school which are realized through semi-structured interviews with five teachers from different countries with different backgrounds who dealt with bullying in their practise. The results present different techniques which involved people in the intervention use to efectively solve the cases and on the other hand what slows the proces of healing down and how to overcome these obstacles. Which steps were done in the classroom and which methods of prevention teachers use. This paper includes a discussion about the difference of dealing with bullying in Czech and foreign schools. Weapon (not only) as a work of art

The aim of this thesis is to introduce various types of weapons, not only as objects of everyday use, but also as objects which are of high artistic value. The aim is to introduce the phenomenon of arms not only as objects, which are designed for different types of practical applications, but also as a fine art and artifacts with the aesthetic and functional value. The main method for the production of this thesis was to study literature and other texts, or materials related to the given topic. The thesis is divided into several chapters by type of weapon (cold, firearms) and by continents, where the weapons occurred. Then I focused my research on the phenomenon of arms in the film industry, and the question of arms and related violence and also the issue of preventing violence, bullying and crime. HITKOVÁ, Eva. Aggression in Primary Schoul [Thesis]. Prague: Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Education, 2010. The diploma thesis focuses on issues of aggression and aggressiveness of children in nursery school. The aim is to monitor the incidence, causes and manifestations of aggressive behavior in preschool children. The work is divided into ten main chapters. First, focus on the characteristics of the psyche of a preschool age and a child's socialization. It concentrates on the theory, explanation of key concepts and definitions of aggression. An integral part of this work is a list of causes and manifestations of aggression in children in nursery school. Within these chapters it tries to understand and analyze the influences affecting the preschool children and their behavior. In the empirical part, it deals with the investigation and detection of actual aggression and aslo the aggression in today's nursery school in preschool children. The survey was conducted by an observation of children in nursery school. The results were recorded and further processed into tables and graphs.
