Occupational Stress

The thesis deals with load, stress and related questions of the working life. Work-related stress brings numerous difficulties not only to affected individuals, but as a result also to organizations. The thesis follows symptoms, impacts, somatic and mental aspects of stress, its types and also types of stressors, which cause this problem. It is concentrated on workload as a specific area of work-related stress, individual resistance to the load, factors of workload and work-related stress and also on coping with problematic situations. The specific topic related to the stress is burnout syndrome. The thesis describes its formation and development, its causes, symptoms in three main levels - mental, physical and level of social relations and then influence of important factors such as personality and work conditions. It is also focused on professions endangered by burnout syndrome and its prevention. Burnout and its possibilities at paramedics

This diploma work deals with the problem of burnout syndrom and its prevention. It describes the burnout syndrom, factors which contribute to it and its course. Further it devotes to prevention, it shades the risk of crisis and importace of work with emotions. The important part of the prevention is formed by the system of the care for the stuff. The cotemporary situation at ZZS HMP (Prague rescue service) and possibilities which could be incorporated into this system and described. The aim of my diploma work is to show the main difficulties at ZZS HMP that the rescue team can encounter and suggest ways of possible care which are introduced in the theoretical part.
Burnout in helping professions

First part analyzes the helping profession and its specific characteristics, second part of the thesis contains description of burnout syndrome, symptoms, stages and diagnostic process. Last part discusses the treatment of burnout syndrome (from the perspective of traditional and alternative medicine) and preventive measures that may be included in the life of each person. Methods of the Mental Hygiene for Teachers of Special Schools in the Czech Republic

Methods of the Mental Hygiene for Teachers of Special Schools in the Czech Republic Abstract This Bachelor's Thesis is the theoretical study, including illustrative transcripts of interviews with educators from a selected special school. It contains the description of main terms like mental hygiene, stress and burn-out syndrome in a context of pedagogical profession. It solves the mental strain of educators which is typical for the working environment at a school. There are presented methods of mental hygiene appropriate for special school's teachers. In the thesis there is also presented dividing of these methods and their short descriptions. Further there is a summary of how methods of mental hygiene are integrated for educators in the legislation of the Czech Republic. The last part contains questions and transcripts of interviews. The teacher beginner

The final work deals with the personality of teachers and the basic stressors, which make their work more difficult and which can be one of the reasons of resignation. In the practical part author used the questionnaires to find the rate of the load for the beginning teachers. The work is based on the literature listed at the end and on the questionnaire survey, which was performed with 49 respondents. The final work provides suggestions how to reduce the stress, which is unfortunately a natural part of the teaching profession, or how to prevent it.
Motivation for the teaching profession

Anotace: The thesis "The motivation for the teaching profession" dealt with fundamental problems of motivation to the teaching profession. In the theoretical part, we have focused on general characteristics of terms that pertain to the teaching profession, particularly the theory of the teaching profession, the choice of the teaching profession, the phase of the teaching profession, teacher typology, the role of teacher training and professionalization of teachers, but also washed into the teaching profession, status of teachers in society, the prestige of the teaching profession, on motivation and disincentives to the teaching profession, teachers' job satisfaction and coping in the teaching profession. Based on this theoretical target was set of thesis and research work was carried out. The aim of this thesis was to investigate the motivation of students second and 3 year master's program, major in Teaching for elementary schools, the Faculty of natural sciences, humanities and teaching Technical University in Liberec, which leads to the choice and the teaching profession. Forms of mental hygiene and their application to crisis hotline workers

This thesis deals with the forms of mental hygiene and their application to crisis hotline workers. In the theoretical part the work focuses on the characteristics and specificities of telephonic crisis intervention. Methods of mental hygiene suitable for crisis hotline workers are presented too. The empirical part focuses on mapping of the forms of mental hygiene, which are provided by crisis hotlines to their workers in the Czech Republic. Individual forms of mental hygiene of crisis hotline workers were also mapped. Crisis hotline workers burnout was investigated in the empirical part of the thesis by the means of CBI - Copenhagen Burnout Inventory. It was also confirmed that greater degree of compliance with selected principles of mental hygiene by cisis hotline workers has the relationship with burnout lower incidence. Hypotheses concerning the relationship between sociodemographic data (sex, age, educational attainment, length of praktice, type of employment in the workplace and beyond) and the rate of burnout were not confirmed. The aim of the thesis was to offer possible ways of how to deal with the stress to crisis hotline workers and how they can optimally use the methods of mental hygiene, which can in practice preventively work against burnout.
Psychotherapeutic methods specialized on managing stress and traumatic situations

This work deals with methods of managing stress and traumatic situations. The goal of this work is to highlight the importance of psychohygiene in our lives, as a preparation for difficult life situations. The first part of the work explains the terms stress and trauma and represents methods and types of psychotherapy. The second part of the work is focused on more specific themes such as psychotherapeutic work with body, for example bioenergetic method and yoga. Next the work explains the term psychohygiene and it describes it's most important aspects, usable in daily life. At the end the work hightlights the existence of burn-out syndrome as a very common problem of people in helping professions. This work also includes a survey which is made by a questionnaire, which studied the influence of yoga on ability of managing stress situations. A claim, which could be found in many yoga books that the yoga improve this ability, was confirmed in this survey. As a next part there is also noticed the importance of caring about parents of disabled children. Doctors and other professionals often lay huge demands on them, they are made responsible for working on their child's development, but on the other hand no one cares about their own psychotherapy and maintaining their own mental health and well-being.
