The Personality of Ralph Vaughan Williams with a view to an Analysis of his 8th Symphony
Velická, Helena ; Bělohlávková, Petra (advisor) ; Nedělka, Michal (referee) ; Portych, Jiří (referee) ; Pecháček, Stanislav (referee)
Vaughan Williams was an extraordinary ordinary man and a very great composer who has reached during his lifetime the hearts of a very large section of his countrymen. Music was the mainspring of his being and he put all that he knew into his music. The essential importance of this composer consists in symphonic and song work. He is an author of nine symphonies, ballet, film music and five operas but the very best success reached he with his choral works. He found the basis and inspiration in the music of his own land and has devoted a good deal of energy to the collecting and arranging of folksongs. The influence of that association on his work is obvious but it is egually evident that he is far from being merely an imitator of folksong. The accents of traditional melody appeal to him but his mode of expression is his own - it is wholly personal and it makes use of passing dissonance in a way which no study of folk melodies could possibly have suggested. He was a friend and admirer of romantics but showed distaste for several favourite romantic emotions. His style is half traditional half modern and that is why his music is understandable. Peisertová, Vendula ; Jüptner, Petr (advisor) ; Lebeda, Tomáš (referee)
The thesis focuses on the use of political marketing by the political party TOP 09 during the municipal elections in 2010. This chosen topic explores issues that have not been covered by the Czech political research yet. The thesis is mostly based on the theoretical concepts of Lees-Marshment and Bruce Newman. The research surmised that the political party TOP 09 had implemented political marketing techniques during the last municipal elections, and it might be considered, as described by Lees-Marshment model, as a market-oriented party. The thesis uses qualitative research methods. Its second part comprises of two case studies on the municipal campaigns of TOP 09 in the cities of Olomouc and Prague: the empirical evidence reviews campaign strategy, electoral programme, election polls, relations to the other candidate parties, media coverage, campaign organization, internal marketing and (last but not least) campaign financing. The thesis comes to conclusions that TOP 09 was using political marketing on municipal level, but still there are differences in the extent of its usage. While the Prague party organization behaved as a market-oriented one, the Olomouc regional organization might be described as a sales-oriented party.

Monetary Policy of FED during the Great Depression

Adoption sets up a legal kinship and imitates biological relations. That is why adoption holds a unique position in law. I chose this topic because of its particularity and importance of adoption. Due to the current recodification the adoption has undergone great changes which brought new issues that scientific work is trying to solve. As the title indicates, my diploma thesis deals with two particular problems of adoption. The text is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is rather short and serves as an introduction to the adoption theme. It briefly describes the purpose of adoption, its effects, classification and legislation. It is a base for the following chapters. The first issue is the current legislation of adoption conditions. After more than sixty years of adoption evolution as a substitute child care form, the legislation and legal theory developed and stabilized. The chapter deals with all conditions and classifies them. The new Civil Codex 89/2012 Statute Book of the Czech Republic accepts most of the statutes and developes them so the adoption keeps its importance. As the second issue I chose the adoption of adult. The chapter talks about roots of adoption in Roman law, its evolution on our territory and causes that led to its current prohibition. Large part of the chapter...

The practical part then builds on the theoretical research and aims to check feasibility of an actual business project, a multisided platform mediating sales of automotive financial products.
